They tend to not do in favourites with the draw at least - I don't know if that's because they know the results or because there'd be too much controversy if they obviously favoured one over another. Plus, I imagine a better show is a higher priority.

What an awful closer manson.gif Russia being near the end though <3 I hope Polina can fight for the win because she really is miles ahead of the main favourites for me quality wise.

That's a standout draw for Spain I think! Less so for Italy, they COULD be a good closer but it all depends on how they sell their performance, if they don't get it exactly right they might even be out of contention.

It feels like they've really opened it up again, Russia and Italy could arguably be too late on or at least not in the most ideal position. I have to take back what I said the other day as Australia are right back in it again now. Belgium are big winners from the draw and can now target the top 5 at least!

It's Sweden vs. Russia still as far as I'm concerned.

Not a great position for the UK, i would have liked them to have Spain's position.

Serbia, Australia, UK, Israel and Slovenia would be my top 5 on the night ideally!!

The UK were drawn first half so they never would have had Spain's position...

The commercial break is after song 14 (Austria) by the way rather than song 12 as usual, subject to change of course. Glad Belgium won't be disadvantaged from coming after a break.

The results are in, and on one listen each, and no performances to distract, the top 12 nations will be:

1. Latvia
2. Belguim
3. Sweden
4. Georgia
5. Australia
6. Spain
7. Serbia
8. U.K.
9. Slovenia
10. Montenegro
11. Israel
12. Italy

Of course a couple of ballads usually end up doing well (Hi Russia), but let's just pretend they don't exist for now and stick with my faves as it worked for semi 2 beautifully....

UK and France are doomed, bottom 5 I'd say.

Russia is surefire top 5 with this.

The first half is gonna be amazing - although a bit gutted Estonia got such an early draw, was thinking they could challenge for second behind Sweden.

Nice slots for Azerbaijan & Latvia. Definitely E/W bets on these for me. They've actually spread out the second half really well and nicely! ohmy.gif

well shit, with that slot the UK are definitely doing badly. Was kinda hoping we'd come on after some dull ballad but with Israel and Estonia before us there'll be no 'finally an uptempo!!' effect. Plus in fifth position, we'll be forgotten about by the end of the show.

Italy closing though *.*.*.* If a ballad has to win I'd prefer that to Russia, but I'm really hoping Mans Zelmerlow can do it for Sweden heart.gif
