BuzzJack Platinum Member Joined: 4 April 2015 Posts: 7,816 User: 21,725	It would have been good to win the tournament seeing as we've gone this far into it and just for the simple fact of it being a trophy but it's not to be. At least we managed to secure Champions League football for next season and made some progress overall. As far as the Europa League goes I'm done for the foreseeable future now, I generally only watch Man United's matches whenever they're in this competition and even then I only saw a very small amount of matches this season.

Sevilla are specialists in this comp and a super solid team that we were never just gonna walk over. We had some good plays but didn't put away the few chances we did get. As Houdini said the big achievement was the top 4 finish. This cup was a bonus (granted a nice bonus as would have been first silverware in 3 seasons!) What difference a year makes tho! Last year the European finals had 4 English teams. This year not even a single one has made the Semis. PL back to being low quality again or just a blip?

Because you have the best player in the Premier League in Penandes! Surely just a blip rather than being low quality? Lyon didn't even make the Europa League for next season! I think over 2 legs both Man Utd and Man City go through to the semi-finals and finals retrospectively. The one off games certainly favour 'cup' teams. I think it makes it more exciting and I think it certainly causes more "upsets".
