Top 40 Chart Commentary

• To the surprise of no-one Avicii is #1 for yet another week. 'Heaven' now equals with 'Tough Love' for the longest consecutive run at #1 this year as it spends its fifth week at the top, just one week to go before it matches Calvin Harris' 'Giant' for longest running #1 of the year overall ('Giant's six weeks were non-consecutive).

• 'Tough Love' itself remains at #2 for a fifth week but there is finally some movement in the top 3 as 'Bad Reputation' overtakes 'SOS' to claim a #3 peak after four weeks spent at #4. 'Amber Sun' remains at #5 for Emery & Wallbridge but their album track 'Holograms' is not far behind at a new peak of #6. Once again, 'Wish You Well' is the only top 10 entry not by Avicii or Emery & Wallbridge. It slips to #8 this week.

• This week's highest new entry comes from Just Kiddin and Camden Cox. 'Stay The Night' instantly out peaks all of Just Kiddin's previous hits, entering at #15, and follows up the #46 hit and BJSC entry 'Hysteria'. It's also the first top 40 hit for Camden Cox.

Of course it's not a goodbye for Avicii! Avicii will be here forever at #1 in your chart, at this point I'll guess "Heaven" will be your song of the summer.
From your debuts, Post Malone's and Drake's new songs are the only ones that I know and both of the are good.

He'll get kicked off #1 here eventually but not for a little while longer. 'Heaven' will deffo be song of the summer at this point, it wouldn't be the first time an Avicii song defined the summer either.

Glad Heaven could stay at number one! I wonder if the top ten will start having more than one song that isn't by Avicii or Emery and Wallbridge soon

Love the new entry from Post Malone at #40, was hoping it would enter higher though! Also like the new entries for Drake and Ellie Goulding!

Giving your highest newie a listen now, okay I've definitely heard this before, I'm sure you can tell me where because I can't remember It's quite catchy!

Nice to see the new Mahmut enter, it's not grabbing me as much as 6 Days sadly though, I feel like it's missing something.

Syn/Dakota interests me so giving it a listen now, sounding quite nice!

My next BJSC entry should impact my top 10 soon so there's that. Otherwise... no.
I think Goodbyes will be a bit of a climber, though all the Avicii will probably keep it from going top 20.

It has to be 'Sweet Lovin', which spent... 11 weeks at #1 here!!
It just isn't quite as strong as her other recent big singles. Hasn't done as well in my chart either - These Days, I'll Be There, All I Am and Thursday all reached #1 last year.
It does seem a bit too low, it should make a jump next week as it's starting to properly hit me.
Well it might start climbing now that it's on Hot Hits Danæviia.
