BuzzJack Music Forum _ Eurovision Song Contest _ Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020

Posted by: J🐠hq May 16 2020, 10:58 PM

Despite the ongoing COVID pandemic, the host city, slogan, artwork and date has now been revealed for Junior Eurovision 2020! ohmy.gif

It may have to take place in a Warsaw TV studio but I'm very pleased that the EBU are pushing ahead in whatever way possible heart.gif

Germany have confirmed today that they will be making a debut cheeseblock.png The only Big 5 country to not participate before

I can't believe that we're getting a debut in a year like this one, but it's great to see countries making preparations and to have JESC as a guinea pig/trial run for what may have to be done at the actual Eurovision next year cheer.gif

It will be a good test to see they could run the regular eurovision next year as covid 19 is likely still going to be an issue.

The Eurovision Forum mods acknowledge the occurrence of this event. Even though its use as a test run for a possible remote-vision contest next May is a little redundant given the vaccine news in the last few weeks, it'll at least be interesting to see how they've managed to fling a show together. The good songs I'd recommend would be the songs from Spain, France, Poland, Netherlands and Kazakhstan. As the performances have had to be pre-recorded then you can get a sampler from this recap.

Show kicks off at 4PM UK Time.

I’m watching it for dry-run-ness (I’m still not convinced the vaccine will make for a normal contest next year).

Georgia has the best song, and I see she’s also running this moths smoke.gif

Since Germany is participating for the first time, I'm here for the first time, too. France is my favorite, hope it wins.

France won! Yessssss!

The correct decision IMO (and Kazakhstan the bridesmaids for the second year in a row - you can smell how badly they want to be let in to the adult contest!).

Based strictly on performances I think it was very much the right top 2. France was just so joyous and although Kazakhstan wasn't one of my faves in studio form, they went all in on staging and I was shedding a tear with her.

France really deserve after a trio of brilliant entries

1,21 million watched Valentina's victory in France, a big gain compared to 979.000 viewers in 2019.
