BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ James Bay - Chew On My Heart

Bay is back! New single 'Chew On My Heart' is out on Thursday - I do prefer his upbeat stuff (Pink Lemonade is easily his best work), but I'm looking forward to this.

I like the title
Album 2 was such a let down, sadly he really suffered the sophomore album fiasco

I actually prefer the second album (however Wild Love was a strange lead single choice), and as I said Pink Lemonade is still an incredible song. I really liked the Oh My Messy Mind EP last year also, so I'm optimistic.

I really liked the song he did with Julia Michaels, Peer Pressure, it had potential but was not really pushed enough for it to do something in the charts

It's actually been a slow burner on streaming! It's currently his most popular song on Spotify, and is his 4th most streamed song there overall.

I agree that his second album wasn't all that, and I LOVED the debut. Wild Love was the only track I cared for particularly from it (and Us to a lower degree). Peer Pressure was a beauty though, one of his very best, so intrigued by this!

I rewatched Cars 3 yesterday, and only just realised Bay has a really good cover of Tom Petty's 'Kings Highway' on the soundtrack!

Premiering on Nick Grimshaw's show tomorrow - so that bodes well for playlisting!

It's a make or break release for him after the sophomore album somewhat underperformed.

Interesting interview with NME, and it confirms this is the lead single for his next album!

Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this ohmy.gif 'Let It Go', 'Hold Back The River' and 'Best Fake Smile' are all great but I think this could actually become his best song for me.

This is actually very good, props to him!

I kind of just assumed he'd been flushed with the last era.

Video really captures the vibe of the song wub.gif I can't get enough of this right now, I think it could be his best since Hold Back the River for me! ohmy.gif

Yeah the video is perfect for the song. Would like this to be a hit or at the very least peak higher than his last lead single which just scraped #39!

Posted by: Bjork 19th July 2020, 10:30 AM

why is this not being sent to radios or playlists? :/

Really liking this! Even more than 'Hold Back The River' but not quite as much as 'Need The Sun To Break'... yet.

This just sounds so HUGE! I hope it does something.
