Looking forward to seeing this, obviously just down to TWD connection. Hopefully it is a no holds barred affair! Looking forward to seeing it all tie in to the main series.

Premieres in AUGUST.

Only six episodes cry.gif Kind of wish it would run the entire summer so that I wouldn't miss TWD so much, but 6 weeks is better than nothing, I guess.

I thought it be available on Sky channels, looks like I might have to stream it, or wait for the DVD.

I'm excited for a fresh take on TWD. The original series has gotten really stale. From what I've read FTWD should be a lot more high energy.

I just think it will be good to see the show from a different perspective.

Looking forward to watching this.

Nice pilot. Interesting to see how tension mounts throughout the entire episode. As expected, a zombie outbreak will not start overnight laugh.gif I'm just not sure why Cal woke up after just getting shot. If he was bit before he technically died and then came back to life as a zombie then there would be blood but there was nothing near the car.

I do not like the mother's character (and the actress. SO dull) AT ALL so it's nice to see her get bit yay!

Posted by: troublepink 25th August 2015, 05:00 PM

I thought it was pretty good, read some mixed reviews about it, some pointing out that it was slow to start off with but I didn't expect the first episode to be full of zombies. Unsure of the characters yet, while there aren't really any that I dislike, there is also none that really stand out to me. Look forward to the second episode biggrin.gif

I don't think the mother got bit, or at least if she did she's got dying until the end of the season.

I thought it was good, a very slow burner, but good nethertheless. One thing I think that will frustrate me, is we all know how the virus works, but the characters don't! I just want to shout at my screen!! But it's obviously inevitable at some stage one of them will get bitten/attacked and then we'll see them turn.

I enjoyed it enough, too. It really is going to be infuriating though, as Rooney said! Not too sure on the main characters right now, but I do love how tonally different this is compared to the original series. I think I like it and it suits the city life a whole lot more.

Looking forward to seeing which characters really breakthrough and develop in terms of being "badass" and surviving.

Looking from the cast list, I think we're yet to meet a couple of characters, but the core group will obviously be the family, and the step-dad's family as well. I agree about the character's as well, but I think the drug-addicted son will be the breakout.

SHATTERS RATINGS RECORDS!!

QUOTE
Having solidly taken the top cable debut spot with its first round of ratings, it’s no surprise that Fear The Walking Dead has now ripped apart the previous Live+3 records. With DVR numbers now in, the August 23 premiere of The Walking Dead spinoff had 13.3 million total viewers and 8.5 million adults 18-49. That jumps it ahead of AMC’s other recent successful and previous record holding spinoff Better Call Saul in the key categories and seals FearTWD as the summer’s top cable offering.

Compared to its Live+Same Day numbers, the urban zombie apocalypse series from showrunner Dave Erickson was up 32% in viewers and 36% in 18-49s. The Live+3 results for Better Call Saul were 9.8 million viewers and 6.1 million 18-49s, up 42% and 40%, respectively from its already very impressive Live + SD numbers using The Walking Dead‘s Season 5 midseason return as its lead-in that February 8.

The Walking Dead’s October 31, 2010 debut had a hefty 4.255 million in adults 18-49 in Live+3 ratings. To add some further, and perhaps humbling perspective, the Season 5 debut of TWD last fall had a cable record busting 22.372 million total viewers and 14.523 million in the 18-49 demo in its Live+3 results. The mothership show returns for its Season 6 premiere on October 11.

How good was episode 2? Much better than the opener.

Posted by: Jonjo 2nd September 2015, 09:02 PM

Yeah. I'm really liking it atm too. I kinda didn't want to like it as I didn't want to be seen as one of those fanboys who likes everything related to a certain show or whatever, but I can't help it! It's very different to TWD, but is still typically TWD at the same time. Some good development of the characters, particularly the brother and sister! Their chemistry together is brilliant!

Posted by: (Zach) 3rd September 2015, 02:34 AM

I'm loving this as well. Both episodes have been solid, although I'm sort of struggling with how unlikable the characters are. It's pretty bad when the drug addict son is my favorite. Also, I loathe Cliff's ex-wife and son. They are both incredibly annoying and I was hoping they'd get eaten (oops), especially during the riot.

Speaking of the riot, how eerie was that scene? I can't remember the last time a TV show affected me like that.

They've barely been in it laugh.gif

Second episode was really good! Can't wait for the third!

I think the drug addict son is the one we'e meant to "root" for. I think Cliff's ex-wife and son are meant to be obnoxious (and if anyone is going to get bumped off in this season, surely those two are likely to be the biggest candidates).

I quite liked the kid who obviously watched lots of zombie films, but it showed how people don't know how to kill them yet as with his weak attempt to kill the principal! But not sure we'll see him again now.

Do you have to have watched the original show to understand this?

Posted by: Jaÿ 4th September 2015, 10:52 AM

No I don't think it's necessary to have done so, 'Fear' could be watched as a stand alone. happy.gif

Really enjoyed the first two episodes! The first episode seemed to get a very mixed response, some saying it was boring, but I didn't think it was. I'm finding it interesting to view it from the very early stages of the apocalypse, how everyone is behaving.

Posted by: steve201 5th September 2015, 12:40 AM

Might give it a watch!

Posted by: burbe 10th September 2015, 03:22 AM

I've just watch the first couple of episodes and I really enjoyed it. I think some people might be disappointed by the slow pace, but that feels more real to me. It wouldn't just suddenly happen overnight. The characters aren't that interesting yet, it will be interesting to see how they react when it all hits the fan.

I like the slow pace for the sake of the show, but it doesn't feel more real to me. In today's society (with the prevalence of social media, etc.) if a zombie outbreak started I think people would know about it almost instantaneously. I mean, when that guy on bath salts attacked that homeless guy a few years back, that was enough for people to start speculating that it was the zombie apocalypse and everyone knew about it within hours. People look for a zombie apocalpyse/are waiting for it laugh.gif The only way this show would make any sense is if nobody had ever heard of a zombie before. I know sometimes our reactions are different than we think they'd be, but if somebody was reanimated or tried to eat me, I'd probably figure out what was going on pretty quickly!

Anyway, I know it's just a show (a show that I'm really starting to enjoy!) but I thought I'd generate a bit of discussion in here.

Posted by: Jonjo 5th October 2015, 03:35 PM

The season on a whole has been disappointing. I found majority of the characters unlikeable and often annoying more than anything. However, the finale episode was fantastic. I was gutted at the end though! They were the only character that I actually found likeable ALL the way through lmao sad.gif

Posted by: ♡ Heezus Froot ♡ 5th October 2015, 06:33 PM

I found the entire series so f***ing depressing I could hardly enjoy it. I totally saw the death coming, Season 2 will have 15 episodes and the actress practically can't be on two shows with that many episodes.

Posted by: SLlewellyn 17th October 2015, 07:16 AM

I too found the series very depressing/boring. I'm not sure I'll bother watching the second series unless I hear any real rave reviews about it. It's all about the original.

Posted by: Conderella 7th November 2015, 08:26 PM

Just caught up. Nice enough. I could see her being killed off earlier tbh because she really was going to be useless throughout the next series. Potential love triangle the re-up storyline? The guy needs to stay likeable so no.

I don't know how they are going to make this different from TWD now in season 2 tbh.

Am I crazy to think the black guy would somehow be connected to the wolves from TWD? I am waiting for some cameos next season biggrin.gif

Bit late to the bandwagon but this is the latest show I'm getting into! I thought I should watch this just in time for the next season coming out. I have to say, as someone who doesn't generally like zombie things, I haven't seen The Walking Dead so I'm not too sure on what to expect. After just seeing the first episode it looks like something I can enjoy though. I'm a fan of Alycia Debnam Carey so I'm looking forward to see how her character develops in particular as she really showed how great an actress she is in 'The 100' happy.gif

The Walking Dead has been on my list of things to watch for so long after hearing a lot of good things, It's just something I've not got round to but I'm hoping FTWD will make me want to watch it more biggrin.gif

Not as good as TWD, I feel a lot less of a sense of danger on it in general but as a distraction to get over the awesomeness of Season 6, Episode 9 of TWD before FINALLY catching up to that show proper, it works.

And will hopefully be a lot better next season. Daniel and Strand are the only interesting characters so far, the others need time to develop.

Posted by: Jacob Alan 16th March 2016, 12:13 AM

Since I'm all caught up with the main show it was great to be able to go on a mini 6 episode binge, it's really interesting seeing everything at the start and looking forward to Season 2. Kinda hoping that eventually some of the main cast'll feature in FTWD.

Posted by: Alejandjob 16th March 2016, 01:07 AM

I think Greg Nicatero ruled that out almost instantly.

Sunday sees the dead return again.

Finished season one just in time *.*

I did really like it but as expected it was quite slow going for the first couple of episodes. It was a little dull in parts and I feel like we never really got much development character wise but it was only a six episode season so I can live with that. I think season two will be a lot better, they've got a good set up going into it and given that it's going to be fifteen episodes, I think we'll get to see a lot more of the characters, I really hope they keep it at a fast pace. Alicia is my fave ofc, I really liked Liza too, fabulous actress that was playing her so I'm sad we wont be seeing her next season. I love Nick and Strand too, excited to see more of the latter. Madison annoys me so much though, I don't like the actress playing her, I feel like she had the same expression on throughout the whole season and did nothing but wander about laugh.gif Travis is also getting on my nerves too. I love Ofelia but idk if I like her dad or not yet :')

I think episode five was my favourite, the scene with Alicia on her bike and then her and Chris in the fancy house laugh.gif wub.gif
