The Thunderbirds are ditching the strings in the new ITV remake of the classic children's show turning into a new CGI look with live action sets. Obviously this is ASKING for complaints but could an all-star cast featuring Oscar-nominated Rosamund Pike (Lady Penelope), Fonejacker's Kayvan Novak (Brains) and Game of Thrones' Thomas Brodie-Sangstar (John Tracy) as well as the original Parker make the show an enjoyable success? It is launching later this year, helping to celebrate 50 years since the original series launched. It will air 26 episodes and it has already been renewed for a 26 more.

When does the first episode drops, I wouldn't might having a looksie to see what they have done to it.
I remember watching the originals when I was a kid, used to love all Gerry Anderson's creations, my favourite is Captain Scarlett. Stingray and Fireball XL5 are some of his best. I never cared much for TerraHawks and Joe90. And does anyone remember Space Precinct a bit far fetched but I loved it. |

Omg they look like gay cgi porn in that pic, it's ridiculous. Scott and Virgil looks quite like the originals but the rest look hysterical, I can't believe they thought that was a good idea. Also the bulges, amazing.
Very excited for this though, always loved the original and I was even quite fond of the live action move too. |

Loved it, the original concept is all there, loved the new addition, brought out the kid in me watching that, remembering the original. I also remember collecting Thunderbirds stickers/Trading Cards.
. I love the little homage to Stingray at the start of the episode, if you blinked you missed it. That was a one off episode on ITV today, the series is on CITV at 8am from next Saturday, but I think it will get repeated on ITV at some point.I hope Stingray, Fireball XL5 and Captain Scarlett get the same treatment at some point. |

I have 60's Thunderbirds sweet ciggie cards (how un-pc these days!) with the original packet covers too, loved them. If they do stingray it had better have the same theme tunes at either end of the show or else! Fireball XL5 is one of my earliest pre-5-year-old obsessions. Loved it. |
