BuzzJack Music Forum _ Kylie and Dannii Minogue _ Single #3 ● Predictions

Posted by: liamk97 17th April 2018, 08:11 PM

Obviously 'Stop Me From Falling' is currently getting its promotional push underway so a third single is a little way off yet, but what are your thoughts on single #3?

Which song do you think the team will be releasing as a single next and, also, which song do you think should be released?

Posted by: liamk97 17th April 2018, 08:18 PM

I really want 'Music's Too Sad Without You' as the next single. It's just crying out to be released; I can already envision hearing it played on the radio and getting a lot of praise. It's got a lovely summer night vibe to it and would really help sell the album.

I definitely think it's on the minds of her team, but I reckon they'll perhaps go with 'Golden' as the next single. It seemed to get lots of love from the promo tour as well as in studio form, plus would make sense to push it as a single following Kylie's 50th birthday.

My gut tell me they're gonna go with 'Music's Too Sad Without You' as the next single.

Want? Well, I'd be OK with that. Probably would like 'Sincerely Yours' the most.

Want - Golden
Think - Music’s Too Sad Without You. It’s the 3rd best selling track on iTunes after Dancing and SMFF.

Think: Music’s Too Sad

Want: Lost Without You, but highly doubt they will go with a track from the deluxe edition as the single #3. And Musics too Sad for the single in autumn.

I think 'Music's Too Sad...' with its Radio 2 support could really do wonders in terms of selling the album.

Posted by: Stuart25 17th April 2018, 10:06 PM

Think:
Single 3 - Music's Too Sad Without You
Single 4 - Golden

Want:
Single 3 - Golden (in late May/early June - to tie in with her 50th birthday)
Single 4 - Shelby '68 (in August - a really chilled video featuring lots of cars and countryside!)
Single 5 - Music's Too Sad Without You (in late September/early October - to tie in with the tour - maybe release different versions too?)

Think: Golden

Want: Lost Without You (even though it's highly unlikely)

Musics to sad without you is what I think they will go with, the album has a good few single choices which is great.

Posted by: Mikee1981 18th April 2018, 06:31 AM

Think MTSWY would be ideal Oct/Nov release but will probably release next...

I'd prefer a few of the others for a summer feel, 'Lost Without You' ideal but doubtful as its a bonus track, 'Golden' or 'A Lifetime To Repair' are good for singles.. I also really like 'Sincerely Yours' but I'm not sure it be released as a single

Posted by: SmileyKylie 18th April 2018, 09:46 AM

Golden for her birthday. Gold Cd single as extra momento 😂

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 18th April 2018, 10:34 AM

Interesting if they go with 'Golden' it will be the first time she's ever released a title track (though they should have done that with Aphrodite).

Also if they release 'Music's Too Sad...', it'll be the first time they've ever released a track 12 of the album (they've released all the others).

Think - MTSWY (Which would be a great choice and help the album sell)
Want - Sincerley Yours wub.gif

Think - Music’s Too Sad Without You
Want - Lost Without You wub.gif

Seems like Golden has the best mix of 'think' and 'want. I definitely think both that and Music's Too Sad will get released, it's just a matter of which way round.

Yeah I noticed that about never releasing a title track before! Strange when you think about just how many of her albums do take its title from a song. As well as Aphrodite, I'd also say they should have had Kiss Me Once as a single too.

Not sure on 'Kiss Me Once', cute song though.

I'd say 'Fever', but that was such a perfectly executed and faultless campaign.

I don't think the album gave much single opportunity, but the title track was at least one that fans took away from the era. Maybe If Only too.

I get the feeling they wanted Fever released but the singles that were chosen were just too strong. I think it was a promo single on the US or something.

Posted by: SamJudd 19th April 2018, 06:16 PM

The single choices have been pretty spot on so far and think that 'Music's Too Sad Without You' will be the next release, but for want I put 'Raining Glitter' as it's also fantastic, but given that it's a promo release I doubt it will end up a single.

For a 4th release the obvious choices - 'Golden' (she never releases title tracks, but maybe all that can change), 'A Lifetime To Repair', 'Shelby '68' or even 'Lost Without You' (maybe)

Noooo! Worst song on the album biggrin.gif

I think a lifetime to repair might be the next single. It’s very upbeat & catchy.

Posted by: Michael Andrew 26th April 2018, 08:41 AM

I'd like to see 'Shelby 68' as the next single. It's breezy, summery and a nice change of pace to the first two very up-beat singles. To me, it sounds like the route Taylor Swift might've continued on after '1989'.

Definitely 'Music’s Too Sad Without You' as a single too. But I'd love that to be released around November.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 26th April 2018, 09:08 AM

is it only me that thinks Shelby 68 is boring? the title is even boring.... it would never take off.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 26th April 2018, 09:14 AM

'Shelby '68' is wonderful, a real earworm and it sounds brilliant in the sun.

I don't think it's a single though by any means.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 26th April 2018, 11:23 AM

Golden! for me...... 50th birthday coming up.... name of album and single..... perfect!

Posted by: Red Blooded Man 4th May 2018, 02:12 PM

I've listened to the album a few times and a couple of tracks are quite fit for DJ remix like Live a Little, A Lifetime to Repair and Rollin'.

Posted by: pippa 4th May 2018, 05:28 PM

Music's Too Sad Without You i believe is the strongest to offer as a third single and does have an album selling vibe about it.

Its different, possibly unexpected for a Kylie release but i believe could enter the top 100.

Posted by: ___∆___ 6th May 2018, 01:01 AM

Literally I’d be happy with anything as the next single - I literally love the album and the more I listen to it the stronger it becomes if anything SMFF is for me one of the weaker tracks (But Kylie loves performing it) and with that already released I’d support anything becoming single 3.

As others have said though I do think ‘Music’s Too Sad Without You’ could really sell the album which ultimately will be BMG’s and Kylie’s aim with any further releases as they will be aware they are unlikely to get any major single chart action.

Posted by: liamk97 11th May 2018, 12:17 PM

'Shelby '68' is a sweet track but it doesn't scream single to me, nor does it seem like a track I'd have thought people would have wanted to be.

I'm so eager for a single release for 'Music's Too Sad' but I'm on board with the thought of 'Golden' being the next single. It would be a really nice nod to her 50th birthday.

Posted by: SamJudd 12th May 2018, 11:25 PM

I think 'Fever' was considered for a single release, but Kylie favoured 'Come Into My World' instead. Plus I dunno if anyone knows this but 'Burning Up' was a contender for a possible 5th release, but was decided against as it wasn't needed and the run of singles was perfect as it was.

Yes I know I've totally gone off the point, but I have already voted in this thread. As for this album there are so many great choices on this album, but can see 'Golden' working as the 3rd single, following the fantastic 2 previous singles. Shelby '68 has also grown on me a lot recently as well as Live A Little & Radio On. Next week I'm gonna buy the deluxe edition of this, just for the fantastic 'Lost Without You'.

Wow this album is just fantastic, not a dud in sight (on the standard edition anyway).

I am absolutely loving Live a Little
