What a tight first round this was. It turned out to be a four-horse race for first elimination and it is the only pop girl of the entire 10 artists featured who gets the boot! Beyoncé is not one of the universally adored pop girls on this forum but I would have thought one of her highest-regarded singles would manage to avoid bottom 3 at least. Oh well... 'If I Were A Boy' was released as the joint-lead single in the US for Bey's third album I Am.... Sasha Fierce in Autumn 2008 along with 'Single Ladies'. While the latter proved the more successful Stateside, 'If I Were A Boy' proved the most successful in the UK where it was released as the only lead single. It was released during Diva Week where major releases from Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, Alesha Dixon and Christina Aguilera were also vying for the top spot. Beyoncé entered that week's chart at #2 - becoming the highest new entry but unable to overthrow The X Factor Finalists. It would manage to climb to #1 two weeks later - giving Bey her fourth number one as a solo artist and first without any features. Vote for your least favourite. 10. Beyoncé - If I Were A Boy [25.58%] 11 out of 43 votes |

Had no idea that song was so disliked on here, especially when put up against those specific 9 other tracks! I'm no big Beyoncé fan but I really like that song, so guess I'm just against the grain with her.
The incredibly dull Light My Fire to go please! |

Is 'If I Were A Boy' really 'one of her highest regarded singles'? It certainly isn't by me xx
