After the very successful listening parties held in other Artist Forums, we have decided to start one for R QUEEN Miss Britney Spears. Last weeks session of http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235354 was incredibly fun and joyous 
We hope you can make it to the next one TOMORROW. I think there is a plug session being held for BJSC tomorrow, so I'm trying to work something out with them, looking likely to be a 8pm start. Would we be fine with that time? IF the plug session isn't tomorrow, I'll move it back to 8pm but I think 7.30pm is as best a compromise I can do if there is a session! Is the day still ok for people? This is the first of her "holy trinity" for me! So I would like as many people as possible 
Here's how it works.. we all listen separately, but at the time chosen we hit play at the same time so that we are in sync and can discuss the tracks on time with each other and we can experience the albums together.

So 'Don't Hang Up' & 'The Answer' have their own little EP instead of being attached to the actual album?! Errrrmmmm... OK then? 
So I've made a playlist instead.
If someone who has Apple Music can do the same (just the 2 bonus tracks above) I'll embed it into the opening link - so then people aren't having to flip from one playlist to the other.

So I've made a playlist instead.Anyway, I don't know why her team isn't making the above version of the album to appear on her Spotify profile instead of the regular standard version, but I assume it's because "The Answer" and "Don't Hang Up" were released as part of that Bonus DVD audio in the US.

Kicking off with a huge collab between the biggest females in pop at the time. I understand how it may be seen as a disappointment, but I find it infectious and catchy and the production is incredible. So slick and Britney's flow and execution! *.*

This is actually sounding better than I remember tonight. I think I'm enjoying the flow of the verses better and it's quite well produced. I think it might not get so much flack if Madonna wasn't on it the expectations wouldn't be so high!

I found '(I Got That) Boom Boom' terrible on first listen but it's grown on me enough to just be not so great now glad it wasn't a single in the end!

"(I Got That) Boom Boom" is fire. This is closest track she did to cater a new audience and I think it would have done great if it was pushed in the US with a radio edit. I doubt it would have done anything overseas though. Also, her performances of the song were good too.

This song is insanely catchy! The Ying Yang Twins can be quite annoying, but the song is so good and irresistably catchy. The production throughout this album is incredible. I love the soft percussion meets gritty R&B-pop vibes of it all!

Breathe On Me is EASILY one of her absolute BEST album tracks. It's pure SEDUCTION, sultry, beautiful everything, everything. We are FORCED TO STAN It outdoes most of her singles too~

"Breathe On Me" is the song that should have been a single and a smash waiting to happen. 
Britney should have done more songs with Mark Taylor and I'm glad that "And Then We Kiss" exists, but there should have been more. Everything about the song is perfect and the bridge is gold.

"Early Mornin'" is one of those songs I don't think I wasn't into when I listened to the album after it was released, but it has grown on me a lot. Moby did that.

This is the song 'Blur' tried to be... 
It's my least favourite on the album, but I don't skip it or anything. It slots PERFECTLY after 'Breathe On Me'! This is pretty much "recovering from a hangover" in song form, for me.

One of the greatest pop songs of ALL time. The production is absolute KILLER! A song that I firmly believe that only Britney could truly deliver in such a way!

It's Outrageous that this song was chosen to be a single, which was inadvertently responsible for injuring Britney (the music video shoot!) and bringing the era to a grinding halt x

I remember The Hook Up was one of my ultimate faves when the album was new. Like I probably listened to it more than Toxic pre-Toxic being a single, lol! It's such a bop. The title as far as I'm concerned has a double meaning, because this song is full of hooks!

Shadow is one of her strongest ballads - it's what came to mind for me to send for AF Idol, in the ballad album track round! The production is interesting and fits well with the album, and I love the light and shade of the verses vs. properly belting the chorus.

This is lovely and gripping! Feels way too low in my ranking but that's what you get amongst the strength of Britney's best album.

Brave New Girl is quirky, but filler-y for me in the context of this album. I'm a bit "take it or leave it" about it, usually it's 'leave it' lol. In terms of sequencing I find it unusually shoved in between Shadow and Everytime.

"Brave New Girl" is cute and fun, but I was a little disappointing when I found that it was produced by Josh Schwartz and Brian Kierulf and they produced "Before The Goodbye" and "I Run Away" too. Those two songs are so damn good comparing to this one.

I still don't think Everytime has fully grown on me yet, I can appreciate it's a standout ballad but I've never connected with it! Perhaps another to dive into the lyrics to fully feel it.

Everytime made me feel sad even as a 7 year old who barely understood it one of the most gorgeous tracks ever written, and that music video - well, it's one I remember so clearly despite probably seeing it a handful of times in the past 15 years. Second only to Toxic overall for Britney, and definitely in my top 20 songs of all-time.

What a solid album! Production is 10/10 through out and every album track has it's strengths! Not really any filler which is unusual for a pop album where the singles are the main emphasis. Very good listenthrough and I'm glad I joined!

"The Answer" is great. I'm still wondering why it didn't make the final cut and it only appeared as an international bonus track. Diddy produced this and it could have been easily changed with "Outrageous" in my opinion.

"Don't Hang Up" is the Josh Schwartz and Brian Kierulf production that should have made the cut in the album instead of "Brave New Girl". I assume it didn't because it's similar to "Touch of My Hand" in terms of the theme about masturbation, but I woudn't mind having two in the album.

Wow! Listening to In The Zone is still an experience. I wish "Girls & Boys", the track which was produced by Linda Perry, made this available on all streaming and digital platforms.

I have 'I've Just Begun (Having My Fun)' on my version of In the Zone because it was actually included on the Taiwan track list and the In the Zone DVD (on a bonus CD). I mildly prefer it to Outrageous and it's an enjoyable bop, nevertheless I don't think it's sorely missing from the standard track list.
'Girls and Boys' fits the soundscape of the album and comes across as being experimental for Britney. I actually think the chorus lets down the rest of the song. I'm not as familiar with this song compared to everything else, so it's an easy last on that basis.
...and now back to the 5 songs at the start of the track list that I missed due to being late to the sosh! Judging by AF Idol it seems like a bit of a misunderstood song to me, oops. One that appears to suffer from "a collaboration between them could have been something better". Maybe true, but I still think they delivered with this! That fast-talky part is a moment. It's simply a bop!
There's good song potential in '(I Got That) Boom Boom'... but what they came up with just wasn't it. I only particularly enjoy Britney on the verses. I don't think that leads to an good chorus, it could have popped off more. The Ying Yang twins are noisy! They completely drag the song down. It's a misfire.
Showdown strikes me as being a "subtle bop". I look at the title and think "yeah, that's not a highlight", but then when I listen to it I realise - I'm really enjoying this!
Breathe on Me is a force to be reckoned with! What an amazing song! It's a huge missed opportunity to be a single. So sexy, but I feel like it still sounded accessible for the public - it's not quite as overtly sensual as Touch of My Hand. Britney performed Breathe on Me on CD:UK *_*
Finally, Early Mornin'. Same as Showdown for me actually, I kind of forget that I like this as much as I do! Such a vibe. The "yawn followed by a giggle" in the first chorus is so cute
And there we go! Lol at me listening to it in this unconventional order, but despite that I still really enjoyed this session. I don't think In the Zone is completely flawless, but the highs of this album are immense, which I would consider as being songs 1-7 in my rank below. (By the way, I've slightly edited my order below - on reflection I would have Shadow above The Hook Up). Songs 8-11 are all great too, very worthy of album inclusion.

I think if I returned to it as a stand alone track without going to the rest of the album, I might potentially experience more enjoyment. (I Got That) Boom Boom frustrates me because it could and should be better than it is, as track 2 on the album. It just doesn't work for me. Girls and Boys also feels detached from In the Zone, for me, in the sense that I only heard it many years later... and whenever I do hear it I don't think all that much of it anyway... it's fine.
