On TV now, written by the creator of Downtown Abbey.
So far, I think the 1997 film has spoiled me as there is something missing I can't put my finger on. Meh. |

After all the promo ITV has done for this, anything less than 9million viewers will be a failure really.

So, do we see the ship sink 4 times then from 4 different stories?

I didn't care much for Cameron's 97 film. I thought it was about 50 minutes too long and the 'romantic' by-story was too unbelievable and not very interesting. I'll be honest - I only went to see it to see how they handled the special effects (which were very good indeed) but for sheer drama - it couldn't hold a candle to A Night To Remember (which actually is very, very heart-rending without the need for a stupid romantic by-plot). I can't stand Julian Fellowes so I'm giving this a miss. I must admit - I only watch DA now for its comedic content. And of course - Rob James Collier is one serious bit of hottie-ness! Kath |

Well, I watched this and recorded Upstairs Downstairs and having now watched both this evening, I will be doing it the other way round next week.

This was undeniably POOR. What a useless hour of procrastination.

I watched it on iPlayer, I turned off after 20mins, pretty predictable when you know what happens at the end.

Just seen the first episode and I wasn't particularly impressed. Not sure if I'll bother with the rest.

Think it may suffer from having too many characters focused on, too soon.

7 million viewers this week, I reckon it will be down to 4 or 5million next weekend.

Oh I LOVED IT, but I'm not a fan of the film so I guess I'm just less familiar with the story than some others. Lady Manton is amazing, I loved what a stuck up bitch she is, I may weep a little if she dies. There's actually a lot of characters I find myself liking already and we're just 1 episode in.
