QUOTE
Two female players will be part of an expanded field for the 2019 PDC World Championship, which will also have a record prize fund of £2.5m.

The tournament at the Alexandra Palace - beginning on 13 December and finishing on 1 January - will feature 96 players, an increase from 72.

There will be UK and Rest of the World qualifying events for women, with both winners reaching the main draw.

"Moving to 96 players will not only reward more players... but also gives us the opportunity to expand the international qualifiers," said PDC chairman Barry Hearn.

"We also felt it was important to guarantee two places for female players.

"This promises to be an incredible tournament."

England's Rob Cross will defend his title, with the new champion winning £500,000.

Yes I'm pleased that there will be two places for female players. Although I'm hoping that the World Championship doesn't become diluted.

QUOTE
The British Darts Organisation will change its rules to allow Professional Darts Corporation players to take part in its competitions.

BDO members can also play in the PDC's Qualifying School when the new rules take effect from 1 October.

Female players will be able to enter PDC World Championship qualifying.

BDO players had faced penalties if they took part in PDC events, and those who reached the BDO world semi-finals were obliged to remain within its system.

BDO world champion Glen Durrant appeared to welcome the move on Twitter, posting a picture of himself next to a PDC Qualifying School graphic.

The BDO World Championship, established in 1978, was for years dart's most prized trophy before the PDC emerged.

Initially formed as the World Darts Council in January 1992, the PDC is now the leading professional body in darts.

A BDO statement said the rule changes showed its "intent to overhaul the current system and make positive changes for the better from within the organisation".

Van der Voort just misses double 12 for a nine-dart finish I think. Still 4-1 up against Arron Monk with 108 average.

Looking like Mensur's reign as Champions League of Darts champion could be over, as he is 10-4 down to Gary Anderson.

And it is over.
