It’s the Pet Shop Boys with their 3rd chart-topper of 2016. It’s a great dance anthem, and I’m nothing if not loyal. Shame the actual single is up to only 19, with the Jean-Michel Jarre combo up to 22 for the lads. Jean-M J is up to 8 and 54 with 80’s veteran Cyndi and 90’s veterans Primal Scream. ABC get their first (or rather Martin Fry does, as it is only he these days) top 5 since 1987, tha fab Viva Love while their Gary Barlow combo is into the top 30. Gary’s new combo with Sigma leaps into the 20 with his Take That mates, giving the lads 24 years of top 20’s.

Big climbs for Javiera Mena, Coldplay, Laura Tesoro, Kungs vs Cookin (hooray an actual UK hit for a great single in a rubbish chart dominated by the album tracks and singles of tedious superstars to the exclusion of everyone else. Hi to the awful Drake who deserves all of the criticism he gets from fellow rappers, dull Rihanna, the long-overstayed-his-welcome Justin Bieber and a host of other singles which stopped selling ages ago but hang around due to obsessive fans still streaming them. Stop it! It’s not clever, and you should be embarrassed, play something else and give us all a break! PLEASE! ).

Highest new entry the excellent Salt Ashes at 28, while OneRepublic return after a break.

Hi John! Glad to see my favorite Eurovision song (What's The Pressure), my favorite Prince song (I Would Die 4 U), and my favorite BJSC song from last month (The Touch), oh and that fabulous winner from Salt Ashes too! It sure would be nice to just once find a smash like that, I'm still not sure how everyone else does it. I'm also happy to see Queen Of Peace still hanging around, because I'm seeing Florence live tomorrow night and crossing all fingers that she'll perform it!!
