I hope this album is very sexual heehee.gif

Posted by: Jáhq 3rd December 2011, 05:13 PM

Early 2012, so we'll be hearing the first single in the not too distant future? biggrin.gif Let's hope she doesn't suffer from the curse of the 2nd album in the way Pixie has (not that they're really similar).

Posted by: LexC 3rd December 2011, 05:18 PM

Do you have any evidence of this? not that a new Ellie album wouldn't be for the good of the world laugh.gif

Posted by: Eyes 3rd December 2011, 05:21 PM

I was going to say, I hadn't heard anything unsure.gif, although if she can come up with stuff as good as The Writer, or Under The Sheets, or Guns And Horses, or damn, I'm going to end up naming all her singles, then I don't mind. I expect it'll be a while before we hear anything, though, her twitter is all about her performing in DC atm.

Posted by: Liаm 3rd December 2011, 05:24 PM

She did say a while ago she was working on the new album, so the source is her tongue.gif

Posted by: Debby 3rd December 2011, 05:26 PM

I Cannot Post Link Yet, I Am Sorry And I Will Post As Soon As It Lets Me.

Posted by: WithUrCher 3rd December 2011, 06:18 PM

I hope this is right, Because i love ellie smile.gif

Posted by: Debby 3rd December 2011, 07:11 PM

She said that she will be releasing it late 2011 or early 2012.

Posted by: Rooney 3rd December 2011, 07:13 PM

I doubt she will release anything until the summer time, maybe even autumn. She is a busy girl at the moment.

Posted by: C.W 3rd December 2011, 08:30 PM

I hope this is true, her first album was genuinely great wub.gif I'm sceptical as to whether she can be successful this time, but I certainly hope so, she certainly deserves more to her name than friggin' Your Song

Posted by: Joao.Kills 3rd December 2011, 11:40 PM

I had a lecture with Starsmith the other day and he said the record isn't due for release until late 2012... He said they are working on song structure a lot more. Stripping it down to just a voice and piano and then working on it from there. Work on the second album has begun though.

Posted by: Red Blooded Man 4th December 2011, 03:39 PM

I hope she adds a bit of diversity to her vocal range. "Bright Light" is genuinely a pretty decent album but I just find her voice quite similar from one track to the next!

Posted by: jkac 21st December 2011, 03:03 PM

I really want her to release her new abum nowwwwwwwwwwww! Cant believe lights was nearly 2 years ago! Think her new album could be epic. I wouldnt be suprised if an 'Adele' effect took place'. With 19 only had 600,000 sales before 21, like Lights, and now look at it. Would be nice to see her next album do really well.

Posted by: Umi 21st December 2011, 08:46 PM

I really don't think her releasing in Q4 is a good idea at all but we'll see how it pans out. I was hoping for spring. sad.gif

Posted by: jkac 22nd December 2011, 12:44 AM

I was hoping Q1. Especially when she said it would be out this year, bit cheaky haha

I agree! Adele has a voice that appeals to masses, Ellie's fanbase is quite restricted and her songs get samey after a while. Having said that, what if she goes the MOR route and releases soppy ballads...?

Sorry, I forgot that if YOU dont like someone, the are automatically shit teresa.gif

Posted by: Little Jack 22nd December 2011, 11:41 AM

As much as I like Ellie, I really can't see an Adele effect taking place. I think '19' was a much bigger worldwide success than 'Lights' has been, and Adele had help from 'Make You Feel My Love' being played to death during The X Factor last year which kept her in the British publics attention right before unleashing her new material. I don't see Ellie bringing out her very own 'Rolling In The Deep' or 'Someone Like You' either, but we'll just see.

Posted by: jkac 12th January 2012, 06:26 PM

Ellie just tweeted that the new album is complete! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Liаm 12th January 2012, 07:08 PM

I hope that means it's out sooner than Q4, she really could do with an earlier release. I don't see how she can't do a 21 (on a MUCH smaller scale obviously, what I mean is this era will be more successful I think - or rather hope tongue.gif) tbh.

Posted by: C.W 12th January 2012, 08:05 PM

If that song she features on with Skrillex turns out to be a hit, then that would be quite a good platform to get her back into the public eye (although I've heard the song, and its FAR too long and repetitive even with her feature sad.gif )

Posted by: jkac 12th January 2012, 08:08 PM

its quite a nice song though, you can imagine the public getting it to a similar peak as wonder man.

ohmy.gif I think "Summit"'s brilliant, if it takes off it would be a good launch for her album even though she's barely on it. Would be nice to see her get a #1 after "Your Song" missed out.

She SURELY can't wait until Q4 now. That would be ridiculous. I have to say though, it seems a slight bit rushed? Didn't Starsmith say they hadn't done much not too long ago...

It wouldn't surprise me. An album launch is massive. Takes months to get all the promo work right. I would guess her label thinks they will be able to make a lot of money off this album, so it's all about timing. Summer single, and then album launching in the autumn I would have thought.

Adele has a voice that appeals to the masses and songs to go with that, Ellie has neither of these.

I think so, she's had 'Indie' success in the US, considering she's only really done SNL. And she's huge here. But her and Adele are different artists, it's like comparing Alexandra Burke with Diana Vickers.

Posted by: Umi 19th January 2012, 07:46 PM

If the new album will be in this awful new faux-emo direction that the Letterman performance hinted at then she can keep it to be honest. I'll stick to Bright Lights and Run Into The Light.

Posted by: marrb 19th January 2012, 08:45 PM

I hope she does well in the US, we accept any US rubbish clogging up the charts here. She looks so different but hope it goes well for her.
After Lana del Rey crashed and burned on SNL it is good to see competent live singing.

Posted by: 152chris 19th January 2012, 09:03 PM

She looked absolutely terrible. No chance.

Posted by: jkac 19th January 2012, 09:30 PM

She did look terrible. The undercut is really pissing me off. I know as a guy its not something I should worry about but I really f***ing hate it. It wasn't too bad when it was sly in the starry eyed and guns and horses video, but then she had WAVY thick hair, not horrendously straightened hair. She was BY FAR at her peak in Guns and Horses, appearance wise.

Posted by: Umi 19th January 2012, 09:32 PM

She does need to sort her hair out. I like the undercut but she needs to style her hair around it and she's not doing that right now. I'd say she looked best in the Lights video though. Definitely her sexiest.

Thats when she changed though. She definitely attractive in it, but its not her and I preferred the 'lumberjack shirt' and leggings look as thats the kind of girl I usually find attractive

Ellie seems to be back. Absolutely stunning performance, I got quite excited watching it. Very clever at the end incorporating the dub step remix so people know about that, and the additions of the string band over the top made it a great performance. I think this could send lights top 50 on iTunes...

Posted by: Liаm 11th April 2012, 05:42 PM

I read yesterday she's done a track with Skrillex (her current boyfriend as I'm sure you all know) and Swedish House Mafia for the album ohmy.gif That could be F'ING AMAZING or a totally shit mess, I am interested to hear it anyway!

Posted by: jkac 11th April 2012, 05:53 PM

I read that too I tried to ignore it. I've been praying for a less produced album and apparently that was for Ellie's so I'm having to psych myself for an album I won't like.

Posted by: Umi 11th April 2012, 06:10 PM

I fear she's gonna ditch Starsmith for Skrillex on this album to be honest. I don't want some dubstep-lite mess from you Ellie. So I'm just gonna try and ignore this too.

Performance on Ellen wasn't GREAT but it was certainly a huge improvement on the last time we saw her. Decent. Let's see if it has any effect on iTunes.

Agreed with this. I normally like him but that entire verse was awful. It's a nice song from Ellie's part though, I don't know the original so I have no idea how it compares.

Posted by: Pavel 10th July 2012, 06:54 PM

Was it done just for the sake of covering another indie artist? Is Ellie trying to extend her fanbase? If so, she's not doing herself any favours AT ALL. High For This was decent but this is just HORRIBLE.

This is not a new trend for her. Even before the start of her career, she's always covered indie artists type artists (Passion Pit, Midlake, Jose Gonzalez, Mumford & Sons, The Temper Trap, Bon Iver off the top of my head) so I'm guessing it's just her personal taste in music.

I think her voice is beautiful on this, Tinie is a bit unnecessary but I like that they've worked together again. This sounds like the right direction for her.

Yeah, I guess it's strange that it's two artists in a row that you like, but I'm pretty sure she covered "The Wolves" by Bon Iver and Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead" before "Starry Eyed" had even been heard by the public.

Posted by: Silver Rocket 10th July 2012, 08:11 PM

I like it a lot actually, very fresh sounding!

I agree that it could do without Tinie's rap, I think it's the expletive he uses which sounds more like it's thrown in for shock value and just sounds crass on a track by someone as classy as Ellie. sad.gif

Posted by: JakeWild 10th July 2012, 09:30 PM

would have been good if the original didn't exist

& adding the rap WOT

Posted by: C.W 10th July 2012, 10:03 PM

oh it turns out I was listening to the first link and not the second laugh.gif the other cover is good, but nowhere near as good. I agree that Tinie's verse ruins it completely.

Posted by: Casey__ 11th July 2012, 01:54 AM

Obviously I love this. She could sing the alphabet to me and I'd love it. Not keen on the Tinie rap though sad.gif Pretty song nonetheless, I like the original anyways, beautiful song.

The second album cannot come quick enough for me.

Posted by: AaronTM 13th July 2012, 04:25 PM

I can't say I was expecting a video for this! I'm assuming it's still a buzz single as it's been given away for free on her soundcloud? I like it and I like the video, but I'm not sure of it as a single.

Posted by: Delincuentos 13th July 2012, 05:09 PM

I love it. I'm hoping it's not a single purely for the sake that its a cover. Was sort of disappointed when I found on.
Having a feeling this is a 'WTWGM', and we'll hear the lead single in a few weeks ala Shake it out.

Posted by: Mr. Botwin 15th July 2012, 12:03 PM

I'm really excited about this... "Folkstep" genre she's getting into. But Tinie just doesn't belong on that song. dry.gif

Posted by: MatthewFirth 15th July 2012, 03:05 PM

I don't like it. A little too much for me.

Posted by: ElectroBoy 16th July 2012, 05:41 PM

Just listening to Hanging on... its ruined by Tinie - but all thats before and all thats after him is brilliant.

I do swear and swearing in songs doesn't really bother me; but here it really seems out of place given the tone of the song etc

Posted by: Jáhq 26th July 2012, 05:21 PM

Her proper first single seems to be called 'Anything Could Happen' and the lyrics are on her Facebook page as she's giving fans a chance to be part of the lyric video.

Not too far away now then! cheer.gif

Here are the lyrics for anyone who wants to over-analyse them! kink.gif

QUOTE
'ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN'

STRIPPED TO THE WAIST
WE FALL INTO THE RIVER
COVER YOUR EYES
SO YOU DON'T KNOW THE SECRET
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO HIDE
WE HELD OUR BREATH
TO SEE OUR NAMES ARE WRITTEN
ON THE WRECK OF '86
THAT WAS THE YEAR
I KNEW THE PANIC WAS OVER

YES SINCE WE FOUND OUT
SINCE WE FOUND OUT
THAT ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD

AFTER THE WAR WE SAID WE'D FIGHT TOGETHER
I GUESS WE THOUGHT THAT'S JUST WHAT HUMANS DO
LETTING DARKNESS GROW
AS IF WE NEED ITS PALETTE AND WE NEED ITS COLOUR
BUT NOW I'VE SEEN IT THROUGH
AND NOW I KNOW THE TRUTH

THAT ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN
ANYTHING COULD

BABY, I'LL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED
I'LL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED, OH
I'LL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED
BUT I DON'T THINK I NEED YOU

STRIPPED TO THE WAIST
WE FALL INTO THE RIVER
COVER YOUR EYES
SO YOU DON'T KNOW THE SECRET
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO HIDE
WE HELD OUR BREATH
TO SEE OUR NAMES ARE WRITTEN

Aaaaaaah so much repetition. I wonder will all that repetition be accompanied by a Calvin breakdown. Very excited for this I guess. Mildly apprehensive but it really should be good. If it's premiering soon though, what are we looking at for the official release? I'd guess late September/early October? I could deal with that. Not quite late enough to get lost in the Christmas rush but late enough that it might get a good Christmas sales boost.

Posted by: Delincuentos 26th July 2012, 09:57 PM

I'd say Anything can happen will be released first week of September, second single October/ November.
I think it will be in the same vein as Hanging On, maybe even little dreams for some reason.
Calvin has already confirmed that their collaboration is on his album, not hers.

Posted by: AaronTM 26th July 2012, 09:59 PM

I quite like the look of those lyrics, it is very repetitive but then so was "Starry Eyed. I'm looking forward to new music from her!

I think Ellie will have another good era.
Hopefully she can clear 60k in her first week, but with the way album sales are atm she could get another number one with 16k.

Calm, or peaceful, often referring to the past, it's meant to conjure a feeling of nostalgia. It's a lovely word, I should really use it more often.

That one's just weird, I much prefer the standard! I love the swoosh of hair (for want of a better word!) on both covers, but it doesn't look right covering her face, especially the way you can just see one eye...

Posted by: Ryan741 1st August 2012, 09:37 PM

Yep, I prefer the standard too! I do really like the black and white colours she's used for both though, it will make it really stand out on shelves and on iTunes!

Just seen that the special edition I mentioned above is £22.50, but it seems VERY interesting! http://store.universal-music.co.uk/restofworld/artists/ellie-goulding/icat/elliegoulding/

These are the details:

QUOTE
Ellie Goulding is back with her brand new album in this beautifully individually numbered and packaged clamshell Special Edition with exclusive spotglass design.

The Special Edition includes
- Album with exclusive bonus track in mintpack cardboard wallet packaging
- One of 2000 completely unique polaroids documenting the worldwide run-up to the album release. Each of these will be signed and dated by Ellie
- A specially commissioned piece of jewellery.
- A3 Poster using an exclusive image from Ellie's recent artwork shoot

Listening to it again, I realise how great an album it is. It all flows brilliant, the vocals are great and the production is immense which I've never realised before! My favourite non-singles would have to be This Love and Your Biggest Mistake I think, but I did completely underrate this after first listen. I wouldn't say it sounds better than Lights from that but it does sound quite good. Not as electronic as Lights so there's definite artistic progression there. 'Anything Could Happen' sounds quite nice from the tiny bit we've got there, I find it hard to imagine it turning into a generic banger (thankfully). It's hard to tell where this will go commercially but I think it could go down rather well with the critics. Excited.

By the sound of the new clips she has released, it's not electronic, at all. Its very raw, almost anthemic. The third one which I'm calling 'I know you care' could get success because its similar to your song.

But that last one, oh my god. I know its only 30 seconds but it NEEDS to be a single because it has smash written all over it. Apparently its called explosions

I'm all for progression, but I wouldn't have complained either if she stuck more with the electro sound like with Lights. I'm looking forward to how this new era unfolds, but "This Love (Will Be Your Downfall)" will probably stick as my favorite Ellie song.. pretty underrated, but such ear candy for me.

Well thank god Anything Could Happen (at least from that tiny clip) sounds like 'classic Ellie' but with a progression as well. I don't think I could've handled a Calvin Harris banger *shudders*.

I've heard about 3 different release dates for 'Anything Could Happen' - 21st August, 2nd/9th September and 30th September! I assume it is the last one, but does anyone know for sure?

Posted by: Jáhq 8th August 2012, 07:50 PM

#2 on the Hot 100! I'd love for her to get #1, it must be quite close with Ellie ahead of Carly on streaming and airplay but what an achievement regardless (higher than either British boyband got, for example).

Posted by: AaronTM 9th August 2012, 01:40 AM

Wow. If I was told 6 months ago that Ellie Goulding would be #2 in the USA with "Lights", I never would have believed it. SO pleased for her, especially because it's one of the most successful 'Brit invasion' singles in a while.

Posted by: Jack 9th August 2012, 01:41 AM

It's success is completely baffling to me, but well done to her! Don't think anyone could've predicted that.

Posted by: Jonjo 9th August 2012, 02:14 AM

Such a shame it's one of her weakest songs though. I'm still very annoyed that we didn't get 'Believe Me' as a single. I genuinely believe that would have been a major hit for her. But it's not like she needed one now. Well done to her etc.. DOING IT FOR THE BRITS.

Posted by: ✖ leww ✖ 9th August 2012, 05:01 AM

i agree. it's definitely one of her weakest but i just imagine that it's the bassnectar remix at #02 on the hot 100, that's a better thought tbh

Posted by: dannjohn3 9th August 2012, 07:05 AM

The Bassnector remix is better, but still a weak song.

Posted by: randomfurlong 9th August 2012, 07:08 AM

'Animal' was always the song screaming hit on Bright Lights. Such a thrilling chorus.

Posted by: Mikal 9th August 2012, 09:53 AM

I have a feeling this album will be absolutely MASSIVE. She's managed to stay really relevant despite not releasing much over here for ages. This will be riding the success of Lights in the USA too so should have no problem there.

"I Know You Care" has leaked. It's a piano ballad (so very different to "Anything Could Happen"). It's not brilliant but I think I could be sold on it if I saw a video of her performing it live.

I didn't realise when I saw it before that it was being used in a film! Great song by the way!

'Figure 8' has leaked.

Figure 8 is amazing, with just 7 days until the Irish and German release the album should leak within 3/4 days perhaps!

'Figure 8' is brilllliant. Was my favourite from the clips too.
So excited for this album!

Don't care about I Know You Care ( biggrin.gif ) but accompanied by Dakota Fanning's shots from that movie it's decent. She really is quite an incredible actress, isn't she?

wub.gif My Blood wub.gif

Posted by: THEO. 4th October 2012, 03:58 PM

After a slow start, I'm getting into this. "Don't Say a Word" and "Only You" disappointed me, but I'm not halfway through, and "Halcyon" and "Figure 8" are both VERY strong (along with "Anything Could Happen" of course)! Hopefully the rest of the tracks are up to this standard - I was beginning to abandon hope.

After watching the video, "I Know You Care" makes so much more sense. Less so in context of the album, but it's a very good song. Ellie looks a bit awkward lip-syncing to herself though.

Posted by: Delincuentos 4th October 2012, 05:23 PM

This album is incredible. Ellie hasnt let us down.

Posted by: dannjohn3 4th October 2012, 06:41 PM

"Atlantis" is the best song.

Singles should be "Figure 8", "I Know You Care" and "My Blood" in whatever order. It's not the most single-ridden album.

Posted by: Medicated Soap 4th October 2012, 09:18 PM

Yeah, I can't see any of these songs even getting close to the success of Lights or Starry Eyed.

Hanging On, My Blood, Figure 8, and Halcyon are stunning though, and I Need Your Love is great too. I also like a lot of the slower tracks. Solid pop album, though spotty.

Posted by: Jáhq 5th October 2012, 04:03 PM

She's got a new song called 'Bittersweet' (produced by Skrillex) on the soundtrack to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2", which is released November 13th. biggrin.gif Exciting for even more new music (and me as a lone Twilight fan).

Posted by: Griff 5th October 2012, 05:09 PM

Is it just me or does 'Anything Can Happen' sound exactly like 'Midnight City' - even more so than Rihanna's 'Diamonds'?

Posted by: randomfurlong 5th October 2012, 09:54 PM

Two listens and there are some really interesting sounds here - such that I think it'll take a while to really dig into, which is a good sign as it'll stick with me longer. 'Figue 8' is the instant wow, stunning production. Her voice sounds a bit too raspy on some of the tracks but I think that's just something about Ellie you have to accept!

I'm not big on the longer version of 'Anything Could Happen' at the moment, totally disrupts ma flo~

Posted by: Tyler 5th October 2012, 11:19 PM

Wow. This sounds amazing.

I pre-ordered. I hope it does well here.

Figure 8 is amazing, the rest of the album has its highs and lows but I prefer Bright Lights for now.

Posted by: JosephRaeJepsen 8th October 2012, 08:21 PM

Got mine today, it's a great listen, I think I prefer Bright Lights but this has some fab tracks too.

1. Anything Could Happen
2. I Need Your Love
3. Explosions
4. Figure 8
5. I Know You Care

Posted by: Ryan741 8th October 2012, 10:13 PM

Posted by: Cremey 8th October 2012, 10:55 PM

Unexpectedly in contention for album of the year for me so far.

Highlights at the moment are 'Dead in the Water', 'Explosions' and 'Figure 8' but it's all just so DAMN GOOD.

My Blood, Dead in The Water and Only You <3

Posted by: Silver Rocket 9th October 2012, 11:48 AM

I listened to 'Figure 8', really good. wub.gif Need to hear the rest sometime this week.

Posted by: Umi 9th October 2012, 04:46 PM

So my copy arrived today and Lana finally has a rival for album of the year! biggrin.gif It's all so good, it's astonishing to see the progression from Lights (which was also amazing) to this. I really can't fault it. wub.gif

Posted by: biophiliac. 10th October 2012, 08:58 PM

Halcyon is really strong after a few listens, I was expecting a lot from Ellie and she hasn't let me down at all. I definitely agree with some critics who have made similarities between Ellie and Florence - and with Florence being my favourite singer ever, that can only be a good thing.

Posted by: Chris_2k12 10th October 2012, 11:52 PM

Her voice grates on me at times but I LOVE Anything Could Happen, a more than good enough comeback in my opinion!

Posted by: Jáhq 13th October 2012, 11:34 AM

This is going to need a few more listens for anything to really stick but it's a strong album, some parts are really stunning. I don't know where she goes with single choices from here (Anything Could Happen was certainly the right choice for first single) but 'Figure 8' is my favourite non-ACH track so far.

Posted by: Dandy* 14th October 2012, 04:28 PM

Late to the party on this one but finally taking a listen now and I'm surprised by how much I'm liking the first few tracks. Lights was such a let down for me, only about three tracks I even vaguely liked but Halcyon is such a step forward for Ellie. Impressed.

Posted by: Dandy* 15th October 2012, 07:15 PM

Have now listened to this a few times and think it's really strong! It's like the follow up to Siobhan Donaghy's 'Ghosts' that we never got...

It's all about the way the production maximises her vocals, the quirky tricks they play on her sound is mesmerising in places.

Posted by: Liаm 15th October 2012, 07:23 PM

My Blood has been the track that's really crept up on me, I really liked it ever since I first heard but it REALLY hit me today, it's incredible wub.gif

Great album, although a step down from Bright Lights. Other favourites are Anything Could Happen, Explosions, Figure 8 and Only You for now.

Posted by: AaronTM 16th October 2012, 04:56 PM

At first I was a little disappointed, but I'm really getting into this album now. Every song on the main tracklist is great, it's almost too hard to pick a favourite. I'm enjoying "Figure 8" and "Joy" quite a lot at the moment, the latter is the closest we get to the style of the debut album (which I loved).

It definitely has the feel of a breakup album to it, I feel as if each track (with the odd exception) gets sadder/further into the breakup as we go on.

Posted by: Simon. 16th October 2012, 04:58 PM

My Blood is bloody amazing wub.gif can't turn it off

Posted by: Tyler 17th October 2012, 02:21 PM

Best album to come out for me in such a long time. 'Only You', 'My Blood', 'Atlantis'... seriously 11/10 moments. And every track on the album is just, it leaves me speechless.

Posted by: dannjohn3 17th October 2012, 10:10 PM

"My Blood" is addictive.

Posted by: Tyler 20th October 2012, 04:52 AM

This is seriously my favorite album. The only albums that are beating it out are 'In The Zone' and 'Blackout'. And that is HEAVY shit coming from me, every song hits so close to home.

Figure 8 is officially the next single. YAY.

On a first listen.."Atlantis" is a magic song!! I love it at first listen. "Halcyon" should be her next single!! Powerful song!! "In My City" is very likeable song. "My Blood" is one of the highlights of the album. "Only You" is very radio-friendly. It could be her next single. I love it!!! I think that she did an amazing work with this album. "Explosions" for me is the most amazing thing about this piece of work. I literally cried my eyes out to this song when my ex died of leukaemia. An incredible, amazing song. I must listen again <3

Such an amazing body of work. ‘Atlantis’ remains a classic.

Anything Could Happen was on in Asda earlier and my GOD it sent me back to this era. I really need to revisit it, but truly what a spectacular, masterclass of an album. I miss it. She really lost me with Delirium (and I had issues with my ex who was an Ellie loon of Cqmqmqmej proportions so I fell out of favour with her when I broke up with him and couldn't listen for a short while Lol) BUT YES WHAT AN ERA THIS WAS.

Posted by: Klaus 28th July 2019, 07:51 PM

one of my favourite albums ever, a beautiful piece of work

shame about what’s happened after, i’ve still yet to listen to Delirium due to the poor singles and enormous tracklisting that might make me delirious

Incredible. It's one of my big favourites of the past decade.

The shift when Burn comes on isn't really for me though. The original album is sheer perfection and if I wanted to listen to Days, it's definitely a separate entity. I'd rather stick to Halcyon on its own.

But yeah, what an incredible album. wub.gif

My Blood is appearing in a few tik tok videos. Has also moved up on Spotify inside her top 15 daily streamed songs. Now higher than Anything Could Happen.

This truly deserves a full resurgence!

My blood is deffo part of her best work.

It fascinates me how its referenced in LMLYD (a song she didn’t write) & i feel its councidental though “youre the colour of my blood” makes v. little sense
