Frankie Goes To Hollywood-Relax

Nows 2, 26 and 102

Oh yes good spot, thanks T Boy. I guess it's not out of the question for Oasis to have a treble then, especially when Live Forever has re-peaked (though the last appearance was just 20 volumes ago / 6 years ago).

Exactly which is why I don’t see the point. They’ve missed loads of big hits off their volumes in the past. Supersonic did nearly make a re-entry into the top 40 earlier this year so it would be better to include that on Now 119 but if they wanted to reuse one of the three songs in the charts at the moment, I’d rather they reused Don’t Look Back In Anger and as for Relax, they should’ve included the '93 remix on Now 26 instead of the original

Some added info I decided to dig up;

Don't Look Back In Anger has appeared on the following Now releases;

Live Forever has appeared on the following Now releases;

Wonderwall has appeared on the following Now releases;

Don’t Look Back In Anger and Live Forever also appeared on the millennium editions of 1996 and 1994, respectively and also, I wonder if Live Forever will appear on any of the 1994 yearbooks now that it’s peaked? Saying that, I reckon it will as Mysterious Girl didn’t appear on Now Millennium 2004-2005 when it still appears on compilations so I have a feeling they’ll include that on one of the 1996 yearbooks

Why was Live Forever on Now 99?

I remember being disappointed that it wasn't on Now 29.

Wasn't it because of Liam's BRITs performance in memory of the victims of Manchester Arena attack?

1987 Extra:

Still none of the missing No.1s, not even It's A Sin. Several songs I'd have put on the main release in place of some of the stuff that made it (Under The Boardwalk, Hold Me Now, A Boy From Nowhere, Sweet Little Mystery).

They should’ve put Sweet Little Mystery on the main edition and Wishing I Was Lucky on the extra edition and they could’ve at least included Rent if they couldn’t include It’s A Sin and they should’ve put Freddie Mercury on there and had George Michael open up disc 2

Compilations

3,589 Now That’s What I Call the 80s [2,759 CDs, 437 vinyl, 393 downloads] (2024)

------------------------------------------

Sales Xtra

Compilations Totals
200,511 Now That’s What I Call the 80s (2015)
94,961 Now That’s What I Call the 80s (2007)

"Debuting at No.1 on the compilation chart on sales of 3,589 copies (2,759 CDs, 437 vinyl albums, 393 digital downloads), Now That’s What I Call The 80s is a new compilation housing 100 tracks from the 1980s, more than half of which reached No.1. Its title is identical to the brand’s 2007 60-song release, which reached No.6 and has to-date sales of 94,961 copies and a 2015 release, also 60 songs, which peaked at No.3 and has to-date sales of 200,511 copies. Surprisingly, only two songs appear on all three albums – Gold by Spandau Ballet and Take On Me by A-ha."

This is one of the few Now albums which didn’t deserve to go to #1. The more 80s albums of theirs that go #1, the more they’re gonna milk the 80s with the same old same old. It’s criminal that this album out peaked 2 albums from the numbered series

The only solace I take from this business decision these days is they keep some of the capital to reinvest into better licences for future albums, hopefully 90s ones.

Just seen on a Now collects page on Facebook that Now 12" 1983 Part 2 is expected to be revealed today. Only songs I can spot so far are Wham Rap and Love On Your Side and their obsession with George Michael being track 1 needs to stop. Either put him somewhere else on the album or don’t include him at all

It will be announced later and I hope they announce the next yearbook next week. I reckon it could be 1989 to finish off the 80s or 1991 to coincide with the re-release of Now 119 in November but if it’s 70s, I reckon it will be 1976

Could be but i'm certain it's a 70s one next.

I predicted that it would be released on 18th October and 12" 1984 should be released next year on 17th or 24th January
