Over the years many people have played a part in making Buzzjack a success.
As part of our 5th anniversary in 2011, we implemented a special award (the Buzzjack Community Award) to be given to those members who have contributed outstandingly to the site and its community and played a part in making the site what it is. It is recognition by management for a one-off or continuing contribution to the forum, given out retrospectively for past endeavours or for ongoing work for the forum. Winners of the award to-date are: March 2011:

I'm actually quite surprised that Jester has never won one of these awards.

None of management are entitled to these awards whilst they are still in management!

I kind of think there should be some way the memberbase can vote for someone to have one of these awards. I certainly think it's a BIT OFF that neither Jester NOR Slick have one.

That just turns it into a popularity contest, and the majority of present-day BJ users won't necessarily have any idea of who has done what for the site in the past, so you'd just end up rewarding people who are visible at the time no?
The idea of these is more of an "Outstanding Contribution" for past achievements than anything. |

Obviously it would have to be vetted by someone or the other so it wasn't just a popularity contest (which I'd disagree with anyway: let's face it, as an example, Dandy* is LOVED BY ALL but there's not much to justify him getting a Community Award). There ought to be a way that their service is recognised...

As if it wasn't bad enough that I never received my cherry bakewell award for reining victorious (after several tie breakers from that pesky Gooddelta fella) in the KO. |
