So here we are Buzzjack after many weeks of voting and 13 rounds, we came down to the final 2 "Bleeding Love" and "Run", easily her most iconic ones and the winner is Bleeding Love by a massive landslide scoring just 9 votes, will it's runner up scored a mammoth 24 votes, after being literally neck and neck throughout each round, as each hit fell by the sideline.

Firstly let's talk about Run, which as you may already know was originally sung by Snow Patrol in 2004 and became a successful top 5 hit for them. Leona covered it in 2007 as part of Radio One's Live Lounge section, where it caused an uproaring reception by listeners and became heavy in demand , then the day after it was requested 8,000 times on the Chris Moyles show in 2 minutes, prompting it to being added to the Radio 1 A-List. Due to all this the song was added to the re-release of her first album "Spirit". Originally there were no plans to release it as a single, but due to overwhelming public demand it got released in November 2008 as the 6th and final overall single and shot straight to #1 in the UK becoming her 3rd UK #1. To date the song is her 3rd biggest selling hit behind "Bleeding Love" and "A Moment Like This", with over 830,000 copies sold. The song also became successful in other countries despite not being properly promoted by topping the charts in Austria and Ireland, while hitting top 10 in Swiss, Germany and Finland, along with top 20 peaks in Canada and Sweden, and even charted in the USA due to downloads, despite not being released there.

Now finally the winner is Bleeding Love and by no means a huge surprise, given the fact it's the song that put Leona on the map and brought her greater UK fame and made her an International star. The song was originally meant for US singer Jesse McCartney, but his label didn't like it and the song's writer Ryan Tedder knew it would be massive and when he heard about Leona Lewis pitched the song to Simon Cowell who quickly snapped it up and the rest became history. The song shot straight in the UK charts at #1 becoming her 2nd chart topper and after just 3 weeks became the biggest selling song of 2007 and in total sold over 1,100,000 copies, becoming the biggest hit of her career. The song was released worldwide in early 2008 where again it became a massive success by topping the charts in 17 countries, making her the first UK X Factor contestant to do this, including the USA where it sold nearly 5 million units. To this day Leona Lewis became the first reality show contestant to make it big internationally.

These have probably been the best results for one of these polls on Buzzjack. No major upset caused really, unlike the others.

My top 2 Leona singles, albeit switched round Both are in my all top 40 though so I can't begrudge BL the win either way!!
