BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Chart Forum Quiz: Family Fortunes

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 30th April 2018, 03:27 PM

Welcome to your Chart Quiz for this week! After winning Pointless, I'm honoured to have gained the right to host a quiz of my own in the Chart forum! (oh wait I was hosting one anyway wasn't I)

Here are the rules:
1. THIS IS NOT POINTLESS!!! You can sort-of get away with mistaking a Pointless for a Family Fortunes, but in this contest you'll be stuck with a big fat zero when it comes to the results.
2. The objective is to find the answer that most other Buzzjackers will have guessed. For every person other than you who guesses the same answer as you, you'll get a point, the person with the most points wins and gets the honour of looking at a picture of an emoticon holding a trophy. I've deliberately made the questions of a non-Googlable nature to make it harder for the lot of you.
3. Votes should be sent to me (PeteFromLeeds) by PM.

The Questions:
1. Name a thread posted in the Chart forum weekly that isn’t the Friday Chart Show thread
2. Name a #1 by an artist with an Artist Forum
3. Name an artist who followed up a Top 10 hit with a song peaking between #41 and #75*
4. Name a regular Buzzjack Charts contributor who joined the site after the start of 2017
5. Name a song which was in the Top 10 on its 20th week in the charts
6. Name a song which spent at least 3 consecutive weeks in the same position (outside the Top 10)
7. Name a Top 40 single which references the Lord
8. Name an artist who has achieved a #1 in the Albums chart but is yet to have a Top 40 single*
9. Name a Top 40 single by someone who was born, raised or currently resides in Leeds
10. Name an artist who has only ever had one song in the Top 100*

*Artist includes anything that releases music under one name. Singers, DJs, bands, cartoon animals etc. all count.

The deadline is Saturday 5th May 2018 23:59 although obviously if you're late you'll still be accepted because I'll be calculating results in the afternoon and not one minute past midnight. Get guessing!

Let's go with Top 10, I'd initially chosen #1 but thought that was a little tough so changed it to 'hit'

Is that a follow up to a DEBUT top 10 hit?

Doesn't matter!

By 'regular charts contributor' how regular are we talking? 1 post a week? 50 posts a week? tongue.gif

Doesn't matter!

There are a billion 41-75 follow ups to top 10 hits from any period of time tongue.gif

For question 10 are we allowed to put bands?

'Regular' is up to you, but it's Family Fortunes so obviously people are more likely to go for someone who's a bit more prominent!

But only a fraction of those people will think of/care to search for!

Love these questions. For a few I think every entrant will have a unique answer!

Posted by: Midge 30th April 2018, 04:09 PM

For Q5 - are you defining the chart boundaries as top 40, top 75 or top 100 (so 20th week in which boundary)?

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 30th April 2018, 04:10 PM

QUOTE(gavindeejay @ Apr 30 2018, 05:08 PM) *
For question 10 are we allowed to put bands?

'Artist' includes anything that releases music under one name (singers/DJs/bands) etc. Same goes for Question 4 biggrin.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 30th April 2018, 04:13 PM

Could you specify what a 'Buzzjack Charts contributor' is?

For Q5 - are you defining the chart boundaries as top 40, top 75 or top 100 (so 20th week in which boundary)?

The entire chart published by OCC in that era (so Top 100 for anything recent, Top 75 for the 80s etc). Basically if you look at the Top 10 and the number of weeks equals 20 it's an acceptable answer.

(it might be worth pointing out that in FF you get a point if someone goes for the same answer as you regardless of whether its correct though)

Could you specify what a 'Buzzjack Charts contributor' is?

Simply someone who posts in the Chart Forum regularly - like I said earlier though it's Family Fortunes so look for someone you think people will think of.

Also I think this is the first week I can answer everything without doing some intense googling so thank you Pete laugh.gif

Posted by: Midge 30th April 2018, 04:31 PM

Could you specify... just kidding laugh.gif I didn't know it didn't actually matter if answers were wrong; tbf I think that's how it is on the real thing! So it's all down to interpretation. Unlike Pointless.

Posted by: Bré 30th April 2018, 09:38 PM

People asking for specifics are kind of missing the point of BuzzJack Family Fortunes just saying xx

Posted by: Chez Wombat 30th April 2018, 09:51 PM

I have not forgotten to enter this time x

Very challenging questions, I hope you're prepared for the onslaught of answers for 3,6 and 10! laugh.gif Very interested to see what people put though and if any score points through them (if there's an obvious answer to them I've missed, I swear).

Posted by: Zárate 4th May 2018, 11:02 AM

This was an incredibly tough round, in some questions I was happy to find *any* right answer. laugh.gif I'm sure I'll get no less than 3 zero points, maybe even more, so I'm not hopeful for the high placing this time.

Posted by: ubɹǝɯbƆ 4th May 2018, 11:04 AM

These questions are difficult ohmy.gif

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 5th May 2018, 07:07 AM

Last day to enter guys! (Also if you've entered and aren't on the list then yell)

(p.s. I had put Saturday 6th which isn't actually a date, I can confirm the deadline is tonight)

Posted by: Jade 5th May 2018, 11:44 AM

Sent in my answers! biggrin.gif Had a lot of fun answering these questions. I feel like I would have a lot of good answers for Question 10 if this was Pointless laugh.gif

Me too hahaha. The questions are designed really well, there are barely any runaway answers! Well done Pete!
