Laura Dern should have snatched all the wins. Either her or Naoimi, she was superb in St Vincent

I found this probably the weakest year for this category in recent years, all of them were just 'decent' for me and no supporting actresses wowed me at all this year. Anyway, I'd rank them like this:

1 Keira Knightley "The Imitation Game"
2 Patricia Arquette "Boyhood"
3 Emma Stone "Birdman"
4 Meryl Streep "Into the Woods"
5 Laura Dern "Wild"

The win could've gone to any of the top four though really. I only really picked Keira Knightley because I like her in general and I liked the film and it's the only category that I could really give it a win for, plus the fact that she was decent like everyone else this year. I don't begrudge Patricia Arquette's win though, her 'I thought there would be more' monologue is fantastic but she's so forgettable in the rest of the film. Emma Stone wasn't bad in Birdman although her big scene did feel a little forced, I probably preferred here than in La La Land though laugh.gif Meryl Streep wasn't even the highlight in Into the Woods for me and it's hardly an awards worthy performance but she was fun and she sung the songs well too so not a bad filler nominee I guess. Sorry Regina but I was just about to say that Laura Dern is probably one of the most undeserving Oscar nominees that I've seen, she just does absolutely nothing for the whole movie and she's barely even in it!

I', not really sure why Laura Dern even made the cut. I've not seen their movies but surely the likes of Jessica Chastain, Imelda Staunton and Naomi Watts put in better performances!?! Speaking of Naomi Watts, I'd probably put her in the fifth spot for her role in 'Birdman', she was under-rated in that in my opinion!
