so next week we have a chart battle, quite a rarity these days (and could possibly still not happen if one of them pushes back a week). Here are the contenders:

Lost Frequencies - Are You With Me

why Lost Frequencies?

• over 30 million YouTube views
• already in the top 40 on iTunes (as a pre-order) and Spotify UK and in the official top 75
• went to #1 in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland, as well as making the top 5 in an additional 6 countries

Tinie Tempah - Not Letting Go (feat. Jess Glynne)

why Tinie and Jess?

• over 1 million YouTube views
• has been in the top 100 on iTunes for weeks based on its pre-orders
• together they have 8 UK #1 singles

---

I'm gonna predict Lost Frequencies as they have built up streams and are higher on iTunes pre-orders. Tinie could do a Crazy Stupid Love/Rude though and enter higher on week 1 but streaming has a bigger influence now. Either way Are You With Me will clearly be the bigger hit overall. As for what I want, also going for Lost Frequencies there but both songs are great.

I think Lost Frequencies will win the battle as well, although I expect it to be interesting and close. Mainly Lost Frequencies will win because they're already available for streaming and are picking up steam whereas Tinie and Jess will have to sadly start from scratch. Lost Frequencies is also performing better on pre orders now as well.

It'd be interesting to look back at the predictions thread for Lost Frequencies, I think I remember so many of us, myself included felt it'd be lucky to be around the top 20 range, if it loses the battle it'll have done exceptional regardless

HIGHLIGHTS from said predicta thread:

QUOTE(Rush @ May 16 2015, 10:51 AM) *
~#30 I guess. I'd forgotten the release date was so soon, ridiculous that Radio 1 bypassed it.

QUOTE(Dobbo @ May 16 2015, 10:58 AM) *
Yeah so much promise, could easily have been as big as Waves but probably a top 20 scrape at best now.

QUOTE(mr_aly @ May 16 2015, 11:01 AM) *
I love it so much, it deserves top 5 but it's gonna crash in at like #39. sad.gif

QUOTE(Šþinniŋğ Ŧř& @ May 16 2015, 07:25 PM) *
As a former of my #1s I would like to see it in the top 10 at least but doesn't seem likely unfortunately sad.gif I predict 21-30 and possibly top 20 on sales tongue.gif

QUOTE(Mack @ May 18 2015, 02:48 PM) *
Probably between #25-#30.

QUOTE(___∆___ @ May 18 2015, 03:03 PM) *
I really hope that labels finally start to realise that holding back releases for so long can go against them as recent examples from AronChupa etc have proved recently.

Agree with others that this would have easily been Top 5 but can now see it just making the Top 30.

clearly looks like Radio 1 playlisting it was all it took to turn it from a potential top 30 to a potential #1!

I'm so glad the fortunes have reversed for Lost Frequencies, would love to see it at #1 but I do foresee Tinie/Jess beating it.

Want and it will be Lost Frequencies. Feel Bad for Tinie.. .He could have been number 1 in the past 3 weeks.. so it's just a bad timing.

Haha well I could have been onto something there when comparing it to Waves after all tongue.gif

Amazing turnaround though! I like both tracks a lot but am definitely backing Lost Frequencies for this one. Think they'll get it too smile.gif

I've always thought Tinie/Jess didn't feel like a #1 beyond the names involved, but right now I feel more widespread airplay will be enough to get it there anyway (with Lost Frequencies taking over the week after and sticking around much longer). Hoping for Lost Frequencies mainly because 'Not Letting Go' is fairly good but not worthy of sitting amongst Jess Glynne's hits (or the better half of 2015 #1s). I'm not that keen on 'Are You With Me' going #1 either as, though I really like it, to me it's B-grade 2014 deep house that I'd rather be something (a) to the standards of 'Waves', 'My Love' etc and (b) newer, but eh I like it enough that I shouldn't complain.

Tinie Tempah was involved in the Cheryl vs MAGIC! battle as well last year and I think that he will be the 1st week winner again.

I think Lost Frequencies will win it. They seem to be doing better on pre-orders and are already #31 on spotify - so will have a streaming advantage over Tinie/Jess (who aren't yet released on streaming).

For the record, Lost Frequencies is one person wink.gif (and will be the 2nd Felix to make #1 this year if he gets there, how about that)

I think it could be Tinie doing a Crazy Stupid Love/Rude, but I think that's looking increasingly unlikely, plus I don't think Tinie's fanbase is really as big as Cheryl's is so I don't know if it would be quite enough to hold off Lost Frequencies.

I'd like one of them to miss out for good to serve them right for stupidly not releasing this week. I'd prefer if it's Tinie, just 'cos it'd be quite funny as he's so clearly desperate for a hit these days.

Are You With Me is now top of the shazam chart so that could be a good sign.

Sales are so low at the moment that pre-order positions are somewhat deceptive ~ I think streaming will be the decisive factor here - thus it's hard to look beyond Lost Frequencies who's already at #31 on Spotify (I would contend that the extended mix is also likely to be top200), which all things considered is a massive head start.

I've not even knowingly heard this Lost Frequencies song. I like Tinie Tempah and his song features Jess Glynne so I would think his song would be #1 even if I don't think what I've heard from that is particularly great.

Streaming is bigger than it was with Magic Vs Cheryl, so I think Lost Frequencies will snag this one.
