Posted by: LexC Apr 2 2018, 01:08 AM

Welcome to Cuzzick, where the green room has recieved a modern and bodacious purple makeover. Discuss your plans for the upcoming contest in this thread.

Dates will be confirmed shortly, but while you're here why not check out the http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=211012 that I'm running on all 69 of the Allecian/Scruvovnian/Lexican/New Lexican offerings to the BJSC world and find out which of my DNQs I thought would be in the mix to win!

Posted by: UltraReputation Apr 2 2018, 01:10 AM

Ready to bring back the bops *.*

Posted by: Liаm Apr 2 2018, 01:11 AM

I have either country/big pop/EDM noise with amaze vocals, so a mix to say the least laugh.gif

Posted by: Jade Apr 2 2018, 01:22 AM

Wow that was very fast! The perks of being a BJSC mod. Very hyped for this edition *.* I'm going fully #dancebloc this time with a drum 'n' bass instrumental that sounds like a 3am radio 1 fave. This marks my longest entry to date (at a little over 7 minutes, you can breathe a sigh of relief plug.dj people x) and also my first entry from the 1990s! From my birth year 1997. This is a similar situation to Aeroche's 'Rockin' For Myself' as it also scraped the top 20 here but swiftly fell out and is very forgotten, so I look forward to introducing it to the BJSC masses. Avoiding back-to-back DNQs would be nice x

Persephonia has lifted its ban on its citizens travelling to New Lexico to participate in this contest and hopes that it will help lead to a diplomatic solution to the New Lexican counteroccupation of Persephonian East Allecian. Hopefully peace talks will not be disrupted by the fact we are sending a nearly 7 minute post-metal instrumental which is sure to go down like the Hindenburg among the locals in the crowd. x

Our two dabblings in metal last year did pretty decently so hopefully we can continue that! (Also #waronenglish remains on for a 6th consecutive contest *.*)

Oh that's interesting...I am sure will be familiar with it...can't wait to find out <3

I have no clue what I am going to send...I'm thinking shtick to 90's as well.

Posted by: Cody Melton Apr 2 2018, 03:28 AM

Liam, you’re going to love this... tongue.gif I’m going trance.

Also my first instrumental entry! (Give or take a couple vocalizaions)

Posted by: Dobbo Apr 2 2018, 07:58 AM

At present am leaning towards something very much away from our "usual sound" for this one, decisions decisions.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds Apr 2 2018, 08:23 AM

Okay I've found a potential but I'm not fully on board with it yet so I'll need to give it a few more listens!

Posted by: lotita. Apr 2 2018, 08:28 AM

Still unsure if I’m entering, or something iconique comes up I will!!!!

this

Except it doesn't necessarily have to be iconique, just really good and stuff

Posted by: 5 Silas Frøkner Apr 2 2018, 08:42 AM

I'm contemplating between a few things. Not quite sure what direction I'm going in yet, there's some not particularly Ashtonise sounding track in the mix

Posted by: dandy* Apr 2 2018, 12:40 PM

I'm not at all sure where to head for the next one, I'm very tempted to send my favourite song of the past couple of months but I think it would do so terribly as it's a real grower and also is melancholy(ish) indie.

Posted by: travis Apr 2 2018, 12:43 PM

Not fully sure what to send this time around. I still don't understand why my previous few entries have flopped, so I'm trying to find the right direction to go in. Maybe I'll try something off-brand~

Posted by: Dexton Apr 2 2018, 12:49 PM

I’m very much thinking about going dance this time, more upbeat than my “usual” anyway laugh.gif

Aside from my debut (Morgan Saint) all of my entries have been by Australian artists, so I’m contemplating continuing that trend or not

Posted by: Cameron Apr 2 2018, 02:25 PM

I shall be returning

Posted by: Tombo Apr 2 2018, 02:29 PM

Wow, I can't believe the last contest has been and gone already, it went so quickly!

I want to enter again this time but I have no idea what to put in yet laugh.gif

Posted by: Iz Apr 2 2018, 03:05 PM

I'm juggling lots of ideas at the moment. Can't figure out what I want my sound to be right now so it could be anything.

Posted by: danG Apr 2 2018, 03:14 PM

Haven't entered trance this year yet so I'll be going for that. And with vocals this time too.

Posted by: Lindsey 🙃 Apr 2 2018, 03:48 PM

I'm sending a song I'm not too attached to but I like enough that I WANT to share it, unsure if its gonna be an old potential from 2015 or a newer potential that I've had under my belt for a few months bit isn't typically my sort of sound so I've got no idea how it will do, it's probs the sort of track that will slay or completely bomb rolleyes.gif

Posted by: BridgeCow Apr 2 2018, 04:20 PM

Going with an amazing progressive house banger I think

Posted by: King Rollo Apr 2 2018, 04:43 PM

I am going with the 80s synth pop song I had originally planned to enter for BJSC100 until I switched to Anathema.

Posted by: Chez Wombat Apr 2 2018, 04:51 PM

I have my entry and have been obsessing over it/the artist in general since...pretty much the time I DNQ'd in the last contest kink.gif I'm going Witch House *. Idk why it's took me so long to try this genre out seeing as I love all of it's entries that are entered here.

Posted by: Jüpiter Apr 2 2018, 09:49 PM

Another strong Jupiterdonian entry waiting in the wings to follow-up our last time surprise success!

Posted by: travis Apr 3 2018, 02:11 PM

I have a few choices lined up. Some smooth acid jazz with modern R&B influences, gay as hell rap over very 90's inspired voguing music, or do I continue to support the #waronenglish with another kpop INSTANT CLASSIC? Decisions, decisions...

All of those sound like things the Deandrians would enjoy but would just miss out on points, interesting laugh.gif Obviously I'd need to hear the specific songs but the first one is the one I'm most intrigued by. I hope Aesthetica will begin to have more luck in this contest!

I have found something really GOOD but not OMG AMAZINGGG but I'm still thinking of entering it as I'm having a bit of bad luck finding amazing songs lately which is unlike me (former Deandria entry hidden in that sentence, can you guess what xx). It's largely unlike anything I've ever sent before and has a mildly amusing title that for some reason I think New Lexico would approve of wink.gif

Posted by: Suedehead2 Apr 3 2018, 04:40 PM

I had a couple possibilities lined up but came across something else today to add to the list.

GAY AS HELL RAP YASSSS

The biggest thing I'm struggling over is whether or not to send something serious or an "exploiting an AQ" slightly jokey entry.

Posted by: M. Apr 4 2018, 12:22 AM

I'm gonna try something I (and possibly anyone else) have never done before. Night owls listen up (or if anyone comments tomorrow, that's fine too haha x). The first person to post a number between 1 and 100 will "choose" my next entry ;o (I have assigned one of my two potentials to each side of 50 or whatever)

yes I know this is a bit stupid but I'll probably just send the other one in the next contest then lmao. We are just going for a ~collaborative effort~ this contest!

Posted by: Jade Apr 4 2018, 12:22 AM

69

woo, sometimes it pays off to stay up late

Posted by: M. Apr 4 2018, 12:24 AM

Congratulations Jade, you have officially chosen Deandria's entry for BJSC 104 cheer.gif

Exploit it!!!

Posted by: gooddelta Apr 4 2018, 08:26 AM

So...can all countries who scored the most points in the last contest automatically AQ? angel.gif

I've got a 50/50 chance of doing so but I'm not expecting it to go my way. And not really sure how to follow 2nd place but, looking at my potentials, it's safe to say it will be with something completely different to Lost Without You.

Posted by: Bré Apr 4 2018, 08:32 PM

'Gay as hell rap' sounds like it could be rly good (if it's like along the lines of Zebra Katz / Le1f etc.)

Posted by: Botchia Apr 4 2018, 09:46 PM

Probs going to be a proper pop hoe this contest

Posted by: LexC Apr 6 2018, 06:05 AM

Confirmations opening Saturday.

I am sending completely out of fashion indie rock to celebrate the 10th (!?!) anniversary of an old favourite's debut album.

By indie rock I mean the SUPER FUN kind with violins, glockenspiels, shouty female vocals and a general sense of sonic and lyrical chaos. Not the "four sweaty boys with guitars tell me nothing about my life"/Stereophonics kind.

Posted by: Liаm Apr 7 2018, 01:35 AM

Omg I now have Bollywood pop bop in the mix, that or "EDM noise" would be something different for Unovia without being too much of a shark jump so I'm quite excited for this contest.

Posted by: Popchartfreak Apr 7 2018, 08:53 AM

so many options: Mexican political chant, Asian gentle jazzdance, Canadian EDMpop, 60's girliepop singalong, 80's synth, 70's rockpop laugh.gif

Should I DNQ again or try a bit to at least scrape through to the final and find a BJSC-flavoured new one...? biggrin.gif

Posted by: Jüpiter Apr 7 2018, 08:53 AM

60s girliepop sounds fun
