Sigala hits number one!
Congratulations to Sigala, who hits the sweet number one position with Swete Lovin', which ascends seven places to reach the summit. The track is his second number one, after Easy Love, which remains static at #41. That hit number one 10 weeks ago. Both Sigala tracks originally entered the chart in the lower reaches of the chart, and both, at one point, got a bit stuck and almost looked as if they wouldn't actually reach anywhere near the top of the chart. Easy Love originally dropped out after two weeks, and it only became clear from its eighth week (the one it broke into the top 40) that it would be a big hit. Sweet Lovin' also climbed, and didn't reach the top 40 until its seventh week, where it hit it big with a 33 place climb to #8. Meanwhile, with 25 selling a colossal 800,307 copies on opening week, Hello rebounds two places to #2. Little Mix and Jason Derulo's Secret Love Song move down a spot to #3. Speaking of love songs, Nathan Sykes's beautiful ballad Over And Over Again is this week's highest new entry at #4. Sigma & Rita Ora fall four places to #5 with Coming Home. Love Me Like You is down one place to #6, while Eyes Shut is down the same number to #7. Sax slides five places to #8, Weird People rebounds 2 places to #9, and Perfect falls a place to #10. After Over And Over Again, the only other new entry is I'll Show You, at #85. There are, however, five re-entries, two of whom are Christmas songs. Those are Fairytale Of New York (#38) and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday (#82). Expect the likes of Last Christmas, Merry Christmas Everyone, All I Want For Christmas Is You and others to join them in the coming weeks. Another re-entry is Glow at #95. Let It Go (the James Bay version) re-enters at #81 after Louisa Johnson's sensational performance of it on The X Factor. Tomorrow night, she'll be performing Love Yourself and Jealous, the latter of which re-enters at #94. |
