New additions are a bit thin on the ground this week but I'm really happy to see BLOXX finally being supported, as I've been a fan of them for a while now!

I'm flabbergasted not to see Clean Bandit though ohmy.gif kinda surprised they didn't add 24kGoldn too, but I guess it wouldn't have been on the verge of the Top 10 on Tuesday when they had the playlist meeting.

Also why no Biffy Clyro, Sub Focus/Wilkinson, Bastille? sad.gif

Surprised that James Bay has been taken off after only 3 weeks on the C List. A shame for him because it was a good song too.
Looking at the playlist runs, they were a bit limited really with what they could remove and add because the only song on there that I think has had too long is Anne Marie and Doja Cat.

I’d be very surprised if London Grammar aren’t added next week, along with The Vamps and Raye, as all 3 of them have been played lots this last week.

Finally, nice to see BTS on there, as well as Koffee. Haven’t heard Bloxx or Biig Piig’s new songs yet but it’s nice to see some newer artists added to the main playlist.

So sad James Bay hasn't done anything, easily his best yet and it sounds like such a massive song. cry.gif

Yeah I completely agree. R1 have always been big supporters of him too, which makes it all the more surprising that a new lead single got such limited support unsure.gif

So next week:

London Grammar
The Vamps
RAYE
Clean Bandit
Bastille
Biffy Clyro
Sub Focus/Wilkinson
24KGoldn

They've got no excuse not to playlist any of those. Now watch them just add one of them...

It's odd, it does sound huge, I thought it might be a bit of a surprise big comeback hit like James Arthur's Say You Won't Let Go.

But Spotify haven't supported it and the radio stations that have added it have it low or now removed from playlists. It's a weird one because I'm sure if it had been the follow up to Hold Back The River it would have been a massive top five and radio staple, I guess timing is everything. No matter how strong a song is, you can't get a hit if nobody knows it.

But I can't even explain why Spotify or radio haven't got behind it because as you say it sounds massive and it's that big radio-friendly singer/songwriter sound which usually gets lapped up. It is really odd - easily one of the most shocking flops of the year for me.

Wish radio would give up on Anne-Marie like they have James Bay. Her songs really are not worth multiple weeks on the A List imo!

Yeah, this era is a real step down from the likes of 'Alarm' and 'Ciao Adios' - I'm actually starting to get the Buzzjack hate for her! Tbh if she keeps putting out sub-standard stuff like this then I'm sure she'll start to alienate even R1 pretty soon.

AM has always been Jessie J II with a shorter shelf life.

I'm guessing the fact his second era was a pretty gigantic flop may have hindered him, it was always gonna be an uphill struggle after that.

If only he'd came back with this song last time!

Since I started tracking the playlist in 2012, it's 'Fake Happy' by Paramore, which was added on 22nd Dec 2017 and spent 7 weeks on the C-list before being removed.

Still no Clean Bandit. Wish they’d remove Anne-Marie in place of CB seeing as the former is doing nothing at the moment
