Well speculation is RIFE right now with talk of the follow up to 'Break Up Song' being RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.
Rumoured to be released 10th July and is to be titled "Dangerous Summer"! Lyrics are apparently on Genius. Produced by MNEK & Kamille! |

About time we got a new single. Hopefully they can build on the momentum of 'Break Up Song.' Good collaborators too!

Anyone can put stuff up there right? So I’m not getting my hopes up regarding the title, lyrics etc, but the date seems possible.

It’s not guaranteed but it seems so legit with the raise to 99p and it’s been removed from a few playlists...
Also, if the rumoured title is true they don’t really want to release too late missing summer completely. |

I think that is a good timing as BUS will be 3 months old.

3 months is THE perfect gap between singles unless single 1 is a slow burner.
I really hope the lyrics aren't real, yurgh! Kamille and MNEK can do better than that, that's a child lyricist whoever wrote that... mainly the chorus, the verses aren't awful. |

I mean, when you read the Break Up Song chorus lyrics they aren’t brilliant either lol.
But I know what you mean, I didn’t like these either. |

My concern atm is the title of the song (providing it is ofc 'Dangerous Summer') and whether radio will abandon it or not, due to current situations. I know it seems petty, but they've blacklisted stuff before similarly. But I think we should be fine, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I see your concern as it seems as though Taylor Swift was lining up 'Cruel Summer' for single release but had to scrap the idea due to concerns of the same nature. |

Honestly it might sound like it's being overdramatic but I remember Kesha's 'Die Young' being completely pulled from radio when it was released due to the Sandy Hook tragedy. Obviously not the same situation but it's still awkward. It's a global pandemic, there's thousands of deaths in the UK alone and it IS literally a dangerous summer. It's easy to seperate lyrical content in a pop song to a pandemic but it's still that elephant in the room sort of thing and insensitive to play something like that when people are grieving lost loved ones.

If they intend on releasing it next Friday I’d expect the teasing to begin tomorrow?

I really don't expect anything for at least 3 weeks/ a month really. I think they'll wait until the world has opened up a bit more.

I honestly don’t know what they’d prefer: releasing it around this time and surfing a bit more on Break Up Song’s success, even though the video would probably either come much later or be “sacrificed” and promo wouldn’t be easy, or releasing it later and risking losing its hype but in an easier environment for the campaign.
Either way I really hope whichever decision they make they have thought it through, another good single with no live performances or an underwhelming video would be very frustrating. I thought we’d get at least one Break Up Song live... Ideally they’d release the song with the video, too. |

I'd honestly wait for them to wait until they have performances to promote their tracks at the ready.
Take BUS as their 30 Days. Give it time, I don't think there's any rush. |
