Hard Sun is a pre-apocalyptic crime show set in contemporary London, written by internationally-acclaimed, BAFTA and Emmy-nominated Neil Cross, creator of Luther. Charlie Hicks (Jim Sturgess) and Elaine Renko (Agyness Deyn) are detectives who, while investigating a murder in the inner city, stumble upon proof that the world faces certain destruction - in five years.
New drama for Saturday nights, looks good from the promo!
Yup looks really good! Can't wait.
Pretty much looking forward to this, judging by the trailers it does look good and screened Saturday nights, for some reason I was expecting the second series of Taboo to start, hoping Taboo will return at a later date, as they did leave that hanging at the end for a follow-up.
Really looking forward to this - it looks good!
Re: Taboo - apparently Tom Hardy was too busy to film it in time for this Winter and it will be on screen in either Autumn or next Winter.
Wow, gruesome, but very hard hitting drama, very gripping, it had me gripped right from the start until the end, I couldn't pick a low point from it, it was very fast paced which I liked about it. The whole series is available on iPlayer I might be tempted to watch the next episode tomorrow, this looks very promising, and I think its got a 5 year arc to it. On the whole I found this better than McMaffia, I've literally gave up after the second episode.
I recognise Agness Dey from her singing days, she has not changed one bit, this is the first time I've seen her in an acting role.
Very gripping start to the series, wasn't expecting to be so good early on! Think I'll watch a couple more tomorrow.
This was fantastic! Really gripping from start to finish and quite a different premise for a BBC One drama. Really looking forward to watching the rest of the series and I'll probably catch it early on iPlayer since it's been uploaded there.
Just finished episode 3 now and this is quite hard-hitting. Still none the wise as to what is actually going to happen but that's all part of the fun in wanting to continue watching.
Highly recommended, seen Episode 2 the pace is more the same, non stop action and very gripping to watch, might watch 3 & 4 tonight if noting else is on, should have it wrapped up tomorrow night
On episode 5 already and it's so gripping. However I am in two minds about it. A bit clichéd and predictable at times with your standard London crime drama methods we see in multiple BBC TV shows although very beautifully made. The female lead in particular is quite incredible as an actress and character.
Finished last night. A strong 9/10 overall. I'm not even sure if season 2 is needed now the way the episode ended!
Watched the first episode last night and enjoyed it, liked the pacing and the action and I'm glad things are being released in full series, in the age of binge watching I prefer it rather then having to wait weeks to end a series
Just got round to seeing episode 1. It's completely bonkers but I think I'll carry on with it.
As this is airing on UK TV in the traditional sense as well as on iPlayer in a new media way, be a lamb and mind to include spoiler tags to chat about episodes that haven't yet aired on BBC1!
I watched the first episode and wasn’t drawn by it, I kept gettihg distracted throughout. I was planning on watching the rest but I’ve not built up enthusiasm to watch them, should I continue or not?
I thought the first episode was slightly bonkers. The rest of it less so. I certainly thought it was worth watching all the way through.
The first episode feels quite different to the rest for me. I definitely prefer the tone of episodes 2-6 and enjoyed the series overall. I wouldn't mind it coming back for a second series if the option was open!
Episode 1 was really silly so I don't think I'll bother continuing with it
EDIT: After reading some of your comments, I may continue with it afterall?
