I think it could do very well if it's streaming picks up. probably top 20 although I'd like it to be the September Song of last year.

This is so early 00s R&B in terms of sound, when it was played on a local radio station recently that sometimes plays old tracks from the 00s, not knowing it that well, I even thought it was an old early 00s R&B song!

Yeh doing really well without much airplay - would be great to see spins increased on radio 1 and it to climb further!

I suppose she would be boosted by maybe being #1 on streaming and itunes on Christmas Eve?The streaming will be high today-Saturday and absolutely huge on Sunday - Monday (nearly 700-900k a day) so the low sales will be Tuesday-Wed-Thursday and even then it won't be 0!

59. Leona Lewis - One More Sleep (& 98)
Heart played it, then BBC Radio 1 on the chart show and then it got used on ITV I believe. It's gotten nice boosts and been climbing throughout the day. Hope to see it continue to rise right up until Christmas day now. Particularly on Xmas eve!

I have been living under a metaphorical rock and I don't think i have heard any songs by Tom Chaplin, nor how much about him, other than he is apparently popular in the adult contemporary circles these days.

Yeh he gets a lot of radio 2 support - I like seasonal songs so downloaded his 12 Tales of Christmas which is quite good especially the single he performed Midnight Mass - although the covers on the album including 2000 Miles and Stay Another Day are poor. The new tracks are very good!

2000 Miles by The Pretenders, now that's a brill Christmas song that never seems to do well in the Christmas official chart
I guess it is probably stuck near the end of the spotify playlists? Although it doesn't even do well in the itunes chart either, I guess it doesn't get much AirPlay over Christmas on radio compared to the ones that have returned to the chart this Christmas.

Chris Rea climbing a lot today, up to #19 ahead of Mariah's higher version. The impact of people downloading it to play while driving home on Xmas Eve is real
The Pogues' top version is finally ahead of Mariah's second version, the usual phenomenon of The Pogues overtaking Mariah on sales as Xmas approaches might yet still happen (although of course Wham! will be comfortably ahead of both this time).

Yep, and Heart only once or twice. Radio 1 have played it 0 times outside the chart. It’s by far the worse it’s done on radio this year since release which is odd given it’s done so well in the chart.

Surprised Chris is rising strongly today still as I said earlier I thought most would be 'driving home for xmas' yesterday as it was the Friday! Suppose plenty work on Saturday and Sundays too!
Strange that radio 1 haven't played it outsid the chart as Scott Mills loves it and has played it on previous years and radio 1 normally play spot plays for The Killers Great Big Sled etc.

Or if the parents buy a family plan for Ł14.99 a month. Or if the 14 year olds are using the Free version of Spotify.
I think most teens use YouTube/Spotify for music but the few that use iTunes we still see a notable effect for because they're all getting and using their gift cards today, and iTunes sales are very low.

I'd wager the general public don't care at all about the artist they pay because they don't want adverts. If they could have free Spotify without adverts but have an option to pay out of respect for the artist I'd be shocked if even 1 percent did.

Hoping P!nk's "Beautiful Trauma" will be reduced to 59p soon. It took a bit of a tumble with the gift card effect.
Surprised at how well "What About Us" has done though! #19 on iTunes combined still. It's had such great longevity. Hoping it'll rise enough in sales/streams this week to get off ACR.
