Just wondered if this has occured for any of you, and if so who?

This has happened twice in the history of my chart. Lady Gaga did it with Judas/The Edge Of Glory, the week she released the latter as a promo single. And David Guetta (never thought I'd be mentioning him achieving such a feat!) did it just last week with Titanium/Turn Me On.

Happened loads for me in the past - sometimes an act has even managed more than the top two to themselves! Here they all are;

The Corrs - No Frontiers/Everybody Hurts (#1, #2 - 2000)
Fragma - Toca's Miracle/Everybody Knows (#1, #2 - 2000)
Alice Deejay - Will I Ever/I Can See (See It In Your Eyes) (#1, #2 - 2000)
Flip & Fill feat Kelly Llorenna - True Love Never Dies/Kelly Llorenna - Brighter Day (#1, #2 - 2001)
Shakira - Underneath Your Clothes/Whenever, Wherever/Ready For The Good Times (#1, #2, #3 - 2002)
DJ Sammy - Boys Of Summer/Heaven (#1, #2 - 2002)
Delta Goodrem - Innocent Eyes/A Year Ago Today (#1, #2 - 2003)
Delta Goodrem - Not Me, Not I/Predictable (#1, #2 - 2003)
Delta Goodrem - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)/Not Me, Not I (#1, #2 - 2003)
Delta Goodrem - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)/A Year Ago Today/Not Me, Not I/Right There Waiting/Predictable (#1-#5 - 2003)
Atomic Kitten - Ladies Night/Believer/Nothing In The World/I Won't Be There (#1, #2, #3 and #4 - 2004)
Sarah McLachlan - World On Fire/Fallen/Train Wreck (#1, #2, #3 - 2004)
The Corrs - Angel/Baby Be Brave (#1, #2 - 2004)
Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten/Wild Horses (#1, #2 - 2004)
Delta Goodrem - Mistaken Identity/Extraordinary Day/Electric Storm/Out Of The Blue/Fragile/The Analyst/Sanctuary (#1-#7 - 2004)
Delta Goodrem - Extraordinary Day/Be Strong/Almost Here/Mistaken Identity/Electric Storm (#1-#5 - 2005)
Missy Higgins - Ten Days/Scar (#1, #2 - 2005)
Shakira - Hips Don't Lie/La Tortura (#1, #2 - 2006)
Girls Aloud - The Promise/The Loving Kind/Miss You Bow Wow (#1, #2, #3 - 2008)
Staygold feat Spank Rock, Lady Tigra and Damien Adore (aka Salem Al Fakir) - Backseat/Salem Al Fakir - Keep On Walking (#1, #2 - 2010)
Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers/Get Outta My Way (#1, #2 - 2010)
Take That - The Flood/Eight Letters (#1, #2 - 2010)
Ed Sheeran - The A Team/You Need Me, I Don't Need You (#1, #2 - 2010)

Yes I had a whole Delta filled top seven upon the release of Mistaken Identity in 2004 - when I stan, I stan hard, it's rarer these days though purely because I listen to a much bigger variety of music than I used to.

In eight years of compiling my own chart, I don't think I've ever had a top 2 shared by the same artist.

Off the top of my head, the closest to achieving this for me was Adele last year when 'Rolling In The Deep' was #3 as 'Someone Like You' entered at #1.

I feel that I should point out that it's only been such a regular occurrence for me because from day one my chart has been a 'free for all'. It's very rarely going to happen for those following the UK release schedule and only allowing songs in as and when they're promoted as singles. For me it happened a lot because if I really got obsessed with an album, the highlights would flood the upper reaches of my 'songs' chart. It might be messy but at least I can look back at that week in December 2004 and see in realistic terms just how obsessed I was with Mistaken Identity, if nothing else my chart provides me with a perfect snapshot in time for when I look back years down the line!

My chart is now in its 9th year, going to look through all of them to see, I can't imagine it will be many, if any to be honest, can't think of any!

03 (06) Delorean - Stay Close (03) (06)
04 (02) Foals - Spanish Sahara (02) (09)

So far, I think I've had one instance of this. And that was in the early days when I was charting anything, and DARE/Rhinestone Eyes made up my top 2 for two weeks, swapped around on the latter week. Album tracks rarely go that high for me, and I'm not sure it's going to happen much now.

Although, having said that, Alexis Jordan is supposed to be releasing her next album sometime this year...

I don't think it's ever happened in mine either... Adele is the only one I can think of that came close though:

20:02:11
01 - 01 PJ Harvey "The Words That Maketh Murder"
02 - 02 Adele "Rolling In The Deep"
03 - NE Adele "Someone Like You"

The most I've had is:

1. Alyssa Reid - Alone Again Pt. 2
3. Alyssa Reid - The Game

And in the album chart:

1. Alyssa Reid - The Game

All in one week. But that's just my Alyssa obsession right now. tongue.gif

In seven years of my personal chart, seven times has a lead artist had two songs even in the top ten at the same time.

Arctic Monkeys - When the Sun Goes Down & I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor (#3 & #6)
Lady Gaga - Just Dance & Poker Face (#3 & #4)
Dizzee Rascal - Holiday & Bonkers (#5 & #9)
Swedish House Mafia - Miami 2 Ibiza & One (#5 & #9)
Rihanna - Love the Way You Lie (Part II) & What's My Name? (#1 & #8)
Nero - Promises & Crush on You (#7 & #8)
Flo Rida - Wild Ones & Good Feeling (#5 & #9)

Gaga, Dizzee and Rihanna had two weeks with both in the top ten together. Arctic Monkeys had three weeks together!

David Guetta is highly likely to have two in the top ten this weekend, with Titanium and Turn Me On.

Quite impressive that Rihanna has done this six times when I'm not exactly a HUGE fan of her (quite a lot of the other acts on the list rank in my favourite artists of all time).

QUOTE(gooddelta @ Feb 9 2012, 07:02 PM) *

Exactly the same with me.

If i held back and didnt chart album tracks high then i wouldnt be true to the chart.

Iv'e had Jessie J occupy ALL top ten positions at one point. I couldn't help it. Her album is my fave in history ever!! so i just had to. i didnt lisetn to anything before.
I've also had Eliza Doolitle and P!nk occupy top 3/4/5 off the top of my head.
