There's lots of old remixes that have been made available on streaming/download sites. The Daydream era remixes went up this week, my favourite era! I'm hoping that her B Sides/other rarities are forthcoming.

As far as I'm aware the footage used in this remix video hasn't been seen before? I'm really liking this version of Anytime You Need a Friend. 
The holy grail for Mariah fans is the unreleased music video for Underneath the Stars, which Mariah teased on social media the other day! Back in 2012 she tweeted that she didn't know where the footage was, so it's great that it's been found. It's been in the vaults for 24 years!
It's out on October 2nd! I'm so excited and intrigued to see the track list!

The Rarities will be a double CD, with CD2 being audio of her Tokyo Dome concert from 1996! The Japanese release will also include a Blu-Ray of this concert (I will need this version!)

Save The Day is SO good!! So much better than I was expecting, but I don't really know what I was expecting 
I feel like it's a bit of a reach to say "Save The Day" features Lauryn Hill since it's just a sample, so I feel a bit let down in that sense, but the song is decent so I'll let her off.

I can barely make out Lauryn in the song if I'm honest. It's a nice song but can see why it was kept to bside status... Was it recorded around 'Memoirs'?

Fantasy entered at #1 in the US (making Mariah the first female artist in US chart history to debut at #1) and spent 8 weeks on top. It reached #4 in the UK, and thanks to the streaming era it certified platinum in July 2020! It’s Mariah’s best selling single after All I Want for Christmas Is You.
A classic!

The Live at the Tokyo Dome show from 1996... I'm in awe! Her vocal performance was completely effortless from start to finish, maybe even more impressive than her vocals on the studio versions of the tracks she performed.

At Rolling Stones 200 albums it's new at 29 with 12,300 sales, so I assume at Billboard it will be a few places lower.
In Germany Rarities is new at no 65, which is a surprise because Caution charted at no 67 for one week.
New at 44 in the UK this week which is disappointing that it missed the top 40 especially after been as high as 17 in the midweeks, it also missed the top 100 here in Ireland.
A shame it missed the Top 40.
Well, at least there's Christmas What does Mariah have up her sleeve...

This isn't an era I experienced first hand (given that I was only 3 at the time x), so I find it interesting to look back on footage of Mariah from when she was a brand new artist. She was always articulate and measured in what she had to say, quietly confident, and she also comes across so mature for someone who was only in her early 20s!
I love 'Emotions', I was introduced to it via Ariana's cover of it however many years ago on YouTube! Happy birthday to it *.* she really does come across so mature and professional in that video.
I've decided to start checking out her albums (about time as such a big Ari fan who is obviously influenced by her) and I really enjoyed the debut - of course helped by already knowing and enjoying 'You Need Me' and 'Prisoner' from AF Idol, on top of 'Vision of Love' (was recently reminded of that thanks to TOTP!). My favourite that I didn't already know was 'Sent From Up Above' which is actually sandwiched between 'You Need Me' and 'Prisoner', so a great run there. Looking forward to discovering more ~

^ Quite an interesting summary of Mariah's Glitter album and movie, which are celebrating their 20th anniversaries this month (the album - 11th September, the movie - 21st September). It was a troubling time in her career which I'm so glad she was able to eventually bounce back from. I've never seen the film, but the album has some great moments! I'm glad that in recent years it has been reassessed, largely thanks to #justiceforglitter (although this particular article writer doesn't think much of the album, lol).
Going further back, a fan's recording of Mariah's 10th December 1993 show at Madison Square Garden - the last date of her Music Box tour - has been uploaded to YouTube! The footage and audio is surprisingly decent considering it's from almost 28 years ago!
