The biggest movies event of the year, The Oscars, are taking place this weekend so this is the general discussion for any predictions, during the ceremony and your thoughts on the winners!
Who do you want to win? What surprises can you see occurring? Are you watching? The ceremony is on Sunday 28th February (Monday 29th February in the UK!). The Red Carpet is on at 23:30 on Sky Movies Oscars and the Official Ceremony starts at 01:30 on Sky Movies Oscars. Sky Movies Oscars are also showing a few Oscar specials over the next couple of days! |

Really hope someone is watching live this year, please post if you are! Last year I remember it was just me (and Johnkm for a bit) and I was posting like 6/7 times in a row and don't want to happen again Watching live again this year so hopefully someone else joins *.* Also looking forward to the Red Carpet!
I'm going to do a full set of predictions today or tomorrow! |

I'll watch live, probably! Hoping Leonardo & Brie can win the actor & actress awards, with 'The Revenant' getting "Best Picture"!

I don't start work until 2pm on Monday so I hope to watch live if the stream is decent. Will probably need a nap earlier on.
Looking forward to Leo winning his FIRST EVER Oscar |

I would love to stay up (hoping to see Leo win) but have to get up for work at 630. Can't afford to be off at work as I'm in a new job. Wouldn't look good falling asleep at my desk or worse making a mistake! Will tape it I guess

I will be staying up for this! The show always turns out to be a letdown though, so here´s to hoping it´s better than previous few years.
It looks like The Revenant will win Best Picture, and I really really really hope it doesn´t. Apart that it was visually stunning, it did next to nothing for me. In a perfect world, Mad Max wins BP, but I actually have a bit of hope for Spotlight to win as well. Best Director is quite unpredictable as well. As The Big Short has been gaining momentum over te past month, it could go to McKay (and it could even win BP). Ignarittu could do it again and win, but I actually think the Academy will award Miller for Mad Max, being a veteran and all (and the vote won't be split bij Ridley Scott). I'm not expecting too much surprises elsewhere though. Actor will go to Leonardo Dicaprio, Actress to Brie Larson, and the supporting categories will go to Vikander and Stallone (even though Mark Rylance could be a surprise winner here). I might post a full predicition later! This post has been edited by Frank!: Feb 28 2016, 08:57 AM |

If anyone is interested, Sky Movies Oscars has an hour show some point today (think 4:30 or 5:30) which I think is interviews with old Oscar winners and a show about the Oscars for an hour! I'm planning to record it and watch it later at 10:30 as it looks really good

I don't know if I'll be able to watch this, depends if I can find a stream online that actually works. I'm never massively fussed about the ceremony itself, just the awards.
Rooting for Room, Mad Max, Star Wars, Inside Out & Spotlight amongst others. The Revenant looks likely to win Best Picture and it would be a shame as it's the worst film in that category by far, but I am rooting for Leo in Best Actor as that's one thing I will give the film. Self promo, but I have done a timely ranking and review of the Best Picture nominees, would appreciate any views |

I'm not sure if the people mentioning streams know the ceremony is on Sky Movies Oscars (Channel 304) live from 1.30am or don't have access to Sky? Anyway just thought I'd mention in case.

Hoping Leo doesn't win. He's had much better performances. This one all he had to do was crawl and eat raw meat.
I hope Cate Godchett wins but there's no way they'll give it to her, so Brie Larsson, please. |

If you can't find a stream, you can get a free trial of Now TV with the movies package and the Sky Movies Oscar channel is included.

Yeah I'm watching on Sky Movies, hope there is a lot of people commenting during the awards and red carpet
So annoying that the program I was talking about earlier with previous winners didn't record so I now have nothing to watch for an hour Does anyone know anything good, and even better movie related, that is on TV over the next hour? Also looking forward to seeing who will stun on the Red Carpet! I remember Reese Witherspoon being my favourite last year and her interview was also incredible |
