There must be significant rise for Chainsmokers ft Phoebe Ryan at the expense of Closer this week

The entire album top 10 next week might be new entries. Q4 in full effect. But who still buys Green Day? Lots of people it seems.

James Arthur is settling in for the long haul at number 1, selling loads. #BrexitBritain

The entire album top 10 is comprised of acts many albums into their careers. No new talent at all. Come on A&Rs, pull your fingers out.

Posted by: girl_from_oz Oct 8 2016, 12:02 PM

6 new enteries plus one re-entry in the album top 10 yesterday, I'm expecting something similar next Friday. Barry Gibb, Norah Jones, Green Day, OneRepublic, Kaiser Chiefs, White Lies, Sum 41, Seasick Steve, Feeder and Placebo all contenders for top 10

Posted by: liamk97 Oct 8 2016, 12:10 PM

These are the best selling new releases according to the Amazon Top 100 (not including second versions that appear):

01. Green Day
02. Barry Gibb
03. Alter Bridge
04. Norah Jones
05. Seasick Steve
06. Kaiser Chiefs
07. OneRepublic
08. Meshuggah
09. White Lies
10. Kate Tempest
11. Kate Rusby
12. Placebo
13. Feeder
14. Sum 41

Just gives an idea as to what the update Top 10 may look like atm. I imagine it's pretty much guaranteed that the Top 5 will be new releases, possibly the Top 7, by the end of the week.

Posted by: mr_pmt Oct 8 2016, 12:12 PM

I totally missed Placebo... oops. I think from what I can gather it's essentially a GH collection?

Posted by: girl_from_oz Oct 8 2016, 12:22 PM

I forgot about Alter Bridge, they will deft make the top ten, there is also The Priests, they usually do well. Kate Tempest should chart as well and I have my fingers crossed for Phantogram. Over on the singles Bruno Mars should do very well, he's already 22 on spotify charts

Posted by: Bjork Oct 8 2016, 12:37 PM

Yes, its 20 Years of Placebo

Posted by: Juranamo Oct 8 2016, 09:58 PM

Feeder's last couple of albums missed the Top 10, I'm hopeful this one will see them return, the sheer number of new releases this week means it'll be tough for them though!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Oct 9 2016, 12:13 AM

Would love to see Placebo and Feeder get top 10 entries, big shake up in the album chart this week. I would love to see the same shake up in the singles as well.

Posted by: SKOB Oct 9 2016, 02:10 PM

Craig David will probably stay in the top 5 but otherwise I can see all new top ten

Posted by: Hassaan Oct 10 2016, 10:00 AM

James Arthur to cross 100,000 combined sales this week? His X Factor looks to have given him a bit of a boost.

James Arthur has probably got another week or two at #1 drama.gif Unless Fifth Harmony picks up a bit, I can't see any other contenders for the #1 apart from them. I don't think the CIN single will do anything this year when the track drops or for the see-able future with the CIN tracks.

Bruno Mars will be lucky just scraping Top 5, more likely between 6-10, by the end of the week.

Another thing, I think we have seen the end of 1 weekers at #1, tracks will just hold on for at least 3 to 4 weeks, with the occasional tracks sticking around longer.

Fifth Harmony are not even close to a contender (as much as I'd love them to be). The only contender would be Bruno Mars if he did an X Factor performance and Little Mix if they weren't releasing on a Sunday.

I can dream tongue.gif Anyhow I didn't mean it for this week, more of a future contender. I did say when the track picks up, which could be a week or 2.

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 10 2016, 03:48 PM

I'd say they will be a contender in a few weeks time.

Posted by: liamk97 Oct 10 2016, 05:18 PM

I imagine Green Day will be able to hit 30k come Friday which is actually better than I expected, given Uno opened with sales of 40k+ four years ago and I feel like there's not really been much hype surrounding their return and no support from Radio 1 or 2.

Bruno is looking for a safe #9 a la Niall last week it would seem biggrin.gif Niall is currently #11, not sure he'll get back in the top 10 but he won't be lower than #12 this week, not bad considering the usual 1D second week drops kink.gif

All but one of those Top 10 new entries seem safe to remain there come Friday - either Feeder or Norah Jones are on track to fall out to make room for The Shires.

Nooooo, come on, hang in there Feeder. I assume White Lies sold more than them yesterday then? sad.gif

I think their X-Factor performance will help it a bit more to stabilise.

It's been a shite era for them though commercially - it makes 'Native' look like a blip after the sales disaster that was 'Waking Up'.

I really hope they get a huge boost from XF and have a few other promo slots lined up before Christmas.

Doing well for them even though sales are low there is nothing to be keeping them that high up the album charts. I think their upcoming album/era will be HUGE heart.gif

FYI, 'Million Reasons' is just inside the Top 45, 'Grow Up' is just inside the Top 50 and 'That's My Girl' is just inside the Top 55.

Also, Feeder could just be safe to remain Top 10.

The nightmare that is "Controlla" could reenter tomorrow. As long as it pushes "Tears" or "Good Grief" out, I'm happy

All We Know is at 31, Dan & Phil not Top 200 (i.e. less than 2.4k sales yesterday)

Posted by: twentyonemdh Oct 13 2016, 07:29 PM

Assumably NEIKED will get a play heart.gif. Also looks like the battle for #5 is on - I'd assume Calvin and Sia are a matter of hundreds of copies apart.

Very likely. It was the 20th best-selling single on Wednesday.

It is close but Sia has a reasonably comfortable (and growing) lead.

Feeder will now most likely miss the top 10 and likewise with Placebo for Top 20. cry.gif

Out of curiosity, do we know what the gap between Feeder and White Lies is approximately? Ta 😘
