A bit boring/bland .... feels nice and christmassy though. Will go to #01, but only because of the names involved.

Lorde's bit is the ONLY GOOD BIT!! Not Christmassy in the slightest nappy weave! |

I actually really like it - and I agree with Jack that it is a bit christmassy…..

the original (as reminded by Brian Wilson's bits) is genius. Without any hyperbole involved, it's genius, and it's never been covered with any degree of success. So no change there then, but there's a few balloon-singing cameos towards the end who do a decent contribution: stand up Paloma, Chrissie and yes even Sam Smith..

Could be worse (hello 'Islands In The Stream'), but it's not quite enough to gain my interest. I feel like Paloma Faith's appearance could have been a bit better. Lovely to see HRH Minogue as ever though!
I am interested to see how it performs when released at midnight. |

I really love this cover version, I really hope it goes to #1 and stays there for a couple of weeks, I should imagine with a full week of sales the following week could actually deny a #1 for OneD... oops

It's a pretty decent cover, nothing more really but a very good mixture of recent and classic acts involved too. Pretty much exactly my thoughts about Perfect Day really!
Could this be a million seller? I can see this staying at number 1 for a long time particularly with Christmas approaching. Admittedly, I wish they'd done Wouldn't It Be Nice instead, my favourite Beach Boys song This post has been edited by Chez Wombat: 7th October 2014, 09:53 PM |

Why does Emeli Sande find her way onto EVERYTHING!
On a side note, I really like it and I much rather it were #1 over One Direction's new single. |

Just like every other charity single EVER. Predictable, boring and heard-it-all-before. The only bits that stood out to me were Lorde's & Paloma's (and Florence's to a lesser degree). Of course it's for a great cause so I hope it'll shift many copies but I wish for once they did something against the grain.

I adore the original but it seems like an odd choice for this kind of single, it's really short and the lack of verses leaves it without any epic flavour. not too bad though, I like Lorde and Paloma particularly and it's good to see Florence around.

I'm expecting a peak of around 03. It will be too late to catch up with Meghan and it will be so heavily front loaded!

It's not a bad effort but I much prefer the original to it by miles.
