Also, I'm going to take this opportunity to give a huge thanks to Sam (Ultraviolence1989) for voting in this too, despite not sending a song herself!
I'm also going to point the finger of shame at 152Chris, Math, Sinner and TheSnake for not voting, y'all get a twelve point deduction

Since it's 10 years since The Black Parade by the legends that are My Chemical Romance, who know the importance of a lead guitar part (apt to this contest), lets have the (sort of) title track from that album open this results show!

Haha it doesn't surprise me that you already knew them Lindsey - they are pretty great though and hopefully I've given them a bit of an audience, the guitar chords on Brain Food are to die for.

And I'm just as curious as all of you to see who sent Yakusoku now I know it wasn't Brett (and obviously I knew it wasn't me as I bet most of you thought) Definitely a new J-rock fave, I think it may finally properly open Garnidelia up to me.

'Yakusoku' not being either Iz OR Brett is really quite a mystery. (especially as Brett seemed to be acting unusually shifty while it was on in the plug session lmao).

Iz's top 2 are the most Iz songs in the contest so still being predictable even with the slightly less predictable entry of his own

Congrats dhwe! Not a song I pointed but it's rather pleasant.

Aww at The Struts getting deducted, but at least it's still second.

And that last minute 8 from Leww has given me a decent position for the amount of people in this edition of Nuggets, yay. Oh and comisserations to TheSnake, at least you didn't beat my superior Kamelot song.

Top half finish, hooray! (not quite getting that 6th top 10 out of 7, but top 10 was obvz much harder in this contest than any of the previous ones so I'll take that x)

I'm a bit mystified at all of that top 3 tbh, but congratulations dhwe, a solid victory so obviously I am in a minority here! x The rest of the top 10 has ended up looking far better than it was earlier at least, particularly pleased to see all of my top 3 up there

Just a shame both post rock instrumentals weren't there! Do feel slightly bad about just knocking out Anxiety though :'(

Fantastic winner, congrats dhwe! Poor Snake though, is that a record low? It wasn't bad really, just not very standout/memorable at all oops.

Thanks for the very smooth hosting, Lindsey, was a very good contest which was fortunate to come at a time where I was starting to lose interest in it a bit prior!

Thanks guys, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was rather fun to host as well, I'm a little sad to see it end tbh. The standard was very high, this is probably the first contest I've been in where I could sit and listen to pretty much everyone's entries the entire way through on multiple occasions without skipping. The only song I couldn't do that with was Cameron's I'd go and fetch the YouTube link for one of the songs when prepping the results and end up listening to so many other songs by that artist because of YouTube's autoplay feature It makes a difference when you really enjoy the genre/concept of the contest and make a lot of discoveries through it, hosting wasn't a chore at all and I hope I get the chance to do it again in the future so thank you for giving me the chance to do it now!
