Actually felt sorry for Nicky at the end. The actor is also a lot better in his scenes with Caleb than he is when he's acting with other actors.

Tonight's episode was a complete gut punch. Hats off to the Emmerdale team for delivering their best episode in a long time, and the actors who play Bob and Brenda finally being given something substantial to work with after so long has paid off. Really excited to watch the aftermath, so much potential and I think we're in for some of the young stars' best performances so far (Cathy and April notably).

Definitely didn’t see tonight’s episode going that way but I do think it’s going to give some much needed story time for those characters you mentioned Joseph!

Always like it as well when the Dingles aren’t front and centre I think that’s how the Meena storyline (completely different to this story ofc) did so well.

Hoping that Cathy’s actress isn’t recast though as her and the actor who played Heath are actually twins in real life.

Is anyone enjoying the Rhona storyline?
I want it to end as Rhona lead storylines always work out to be very depressing.

Anything with Rhona at the centre is generally great I find, because Zoe Henry is one of the finest talents they have! I'm finding this storyline interesting so far, probably going a little OTT but that's soapland I guess.

Huge shoutout to Louise Jameson too, who steals every scene she's in with the warmth she brings to the role of Mary. One of the most essential characters in any soap right now!

The character of Ruby is so high camp and I think I’m going to bed obsessed with her laugh.gif

Chas botoxed to the hilt for her new storyline laugh.gif
Her character was absolutely destroyed with the Al storyline and everything associated with it.
It leaves it hard to emphasize with her now as a result.

Lucy Pargeter is such an asset to the show, I think she's played it so well that somehow I'm back on Chas' side after the character assassination of the Al storyline. Lucy and Emma Atkins have had Emmerdale on their back for years cheeseblock.png

Emma Atkins is superb actress and it's disappointing she hasn't won more awards over the years.
Ruby is a good asset to the show right now and an interesting character but the return of Kerry is a not her again moment as she is totally pointless as is Amy. These characters and Vanessa are like hamsters on a wheel going round and round doing the same thing.

The creative decisions surrounding her character's narrative arc involving the Al storyline and its associated elements effectively undermined and devastated the integrity of her characterization.

After killing off Rishi and Heath, seems like Emmerdale are set to kill off another character....

Heath's death has been one of the best soap storylines of the year for me, they've handled it so well. Not convinced killing Rishi was the best decision considering Amit's storyline was a bit of a damp squib (other than the glimpse of Jai's dark side returning...!), so I'm not sure what to think of this. I don't agree with killing too many young characters, particularly those attached to big families. These are the soap characters of the future. EastEnders made a similar mistake with Denny's death... there's just no need when these are the characters linked to the show's most iconic families!
