Mansfield Town boss Graham Coughlan says his team were "threatened with expulsion" if they did not bring their Carabao Cup first-round tie against Preston forward to this Saturday.

The game has been rearranged because of a number of North End players being called up for their national squads.

The EFL said the tie, originally set for 5 September, was moved to "protect the integrity of the competition".

Sorry, neglecting this thread.

Newcastle narrowly avoided becoming League Two Newport County's latest scalp as they scored a late equaliser before winning on penalties to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

It takes playing a mid-table team in the Championship for a Jose Mourinho to have a decent amount of possession in a game. Tottenham were the better side on this occasion.

I’m interested Mack 😁

Watched the four semi finals this week and what a finish for Cavani, goal scorer extraordinaire! Well done Brentford although it’s unlikely I’d love if they won it. Newcastle started their first team and Brentford had the second string in the game on Tuesday too. It’s their first semifinal ever.

Utd were absolute garbage, the only way they are winning the league is if they get a penalty every game. Martial's dive was absolutely laughable.

This must feel what it must be to have been a Man Utd fan from between 2000-2013!

My doubts that it will be a 'Super' final between Tottenham and Man City.

City won’t be thrilled at the prospect of extra-time, especially with PSG away on Wednesday.

Got the winner before extra time, La Porte should have been off though imo!

City match Liverpool’s record in the 1980s by winning the League Cup 4 seasons in a row.

Really dull final, Spurs were so bad though. Christ what happened to them!? Kane crying too.. he's definitely off in the summer.

Sky Sports pundits fawning over them cos they take the League Cup seriously.. very easy to do when you're funded by an oil state and can keep all your reserve players happy laugh.gif
