The people who stream are what ruins it, or rather the people that curate the high profile playlists. A large chunk of streaming comes from people playing what's on that, it's no better than people being spoonfed what they should listen to and it reflecting in the chart.
That and people just can't seem to get over stuff that's months old and let it go. I'm just hoping this all levels itself out this year. |

Not just this year, I don't think ANY track has managed that. 13 have 9 different, including from recent times Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud", Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" and Eminem featuring Rihanna with "The Monster". Before that it was "Wonderwall" and before that you have to go back to the very early days of the chart. |
