Some fun facts before we get going:
• the most hated artist this year is Meghan Trainor with four songs in the shortlist. Chris Brown, Fetty Wap, and Sam Smith are not far behind with 3 each
• 5SOS, Bars And Melody, John Legend, Justin Bieber, Little Mix, Rihanna have 2 appearances each. As does Monty technically as he is part of Remy Boyz.
• last year's "winners" Jason Derulo and Snoop Dogg do not have a song on the shortlist this year so we will definitely have a new "winner".
• the act with the most nominations to not enter the shortlist are One Direction, who had 9 nominations split equally between 3 songs. good news for 1D fans I guess.
