I would guess it is a money thing. She evidently ploughed loads of cash into Melanie C, loads of music videos that had a bigger budget, lots of formats, remixes. The extra cash both was evident but also paid off for a chart placement and better overall product and era. I don't see her going back to two formats, 2 cheap videos and an album charting at #23 again. Though I also see her travelling all the way to Australia for cheques for DJ gigs so I don't think she is in the position post SW19 she was in when she released Melanie C when she just had taken a huge cheque. Yeah, having released the album during the pandemic, she definitely has needed some time touring to both get some profit and make the budget for a new release. But I also can see her learning new producing skills with her DJ sets and wanting to apply that into her own material. |

Working as a DJ could lead her on a path to making a very club orientated album as her next release.
