This thread is about the band Erasure which were obviously big and their singles remained popular for a long time as they tended to get singles hits into the 00s ohmy.gif but still get hits on the albums chart this decade.

They took a different path to the Pet Shop Boys (who they are often compared) in the late 80s, remaining more poppy rather than dancey, apart from the 1989 song 'Drama!' which actually sounds a bit ahead of its time and early eurodance with the production so would have to be my fave of there's.

However 'A Little Respect' is a fantastic song imo.

I absolutely loved Erasure as a kid. Chorus was my first album on CD and I still have such fond memories of it. Pop! is also one of those rare fantastic compilations that showcases a pretty strong run of singles. Their self titled album is pretty darn amazing and completely underrated, a shame it pretty much killed all interest in them at the time as it's such a brave and interesting album for a pop group to make.

My tracks of choice would be A Little Respect, Drama!, You Surround Me, Chorus, Joan, Breath Of Life, Am I Right?, Always, Take Me Back, All Through The Years, Fingers and Thumbs, Rescue Me, Sono Luminus, Angel, So The Story Goes, Ship of Fools and Blue Savannah.

Gaudete has been a staple for me the last couple of Christmases. I love the old choral vibes and there is just something special about the song.

I don't know muc of there other material, I've heard one or two other songs but they didn't snatch me as hard as Gaudete did.

Great band! Absolutely loved "Breathe" - #4 hit in 2005 - and the parent album "Nightbird".
