Q. 01 | Name a UK #1 Box Office hit of 2019

Answers:

AVENGERS: ENDGAME
Jonjo; Infludexton*; Chez Wallago 🐠; Mack. 🐠; LewisGT; Jack; Sharon 🍷; PeteFromLeeds 07

JOKER
J🐠hq 00

THE LION KING
Hauspital* 00

FROZEN II
WhoOdyssey 00

> No surprises here. The nil pointers were all probably next in line had Endgame not been and destroyed the Box Office in 2019! 'Avengers: Endgame' was not only the biggest movie of the year, but it managed to over take 'Avatar' at the Worldwide Box Office to become the highest grossing film of all time (not adjusted for inflation). 'Joker', 'The Lion King' & 'Frozen II' were huge box office smashes too! <

Q. 02 | A song that features in the west end show '& Juliet'

Answers:

BABY ONE MORE TIME
Jonjo; J🐠hq; Infludexton*; LewisGT; Sharon 🍷 04

LARGER THAN LIFE
Mack. 🐠; WhoOdyssey; PeteFromLeeds 02

TEENAGE DREAM
Chez Wallago 🐠 00

BREAK FREE
Jack 00

ONE MORE TRY
Hauspital* 00

> I don't think the winning song is a surprise as those who answered 'Baby One More Time' wins by 2 points. 'Larger Than Life' surprises me here by being the 2nd most guessed answer. Buzzjack faves 'Teenage Dream' & 'Break Free' score nothing, ironically enough, them two are mashed together for the show! Lol. The excellent original song composed and made for the show (and performed by Jessie J as a promotional track) 'One More Try' also makes the list, but is pointless </3 <

Q. 03 | An actor or actress who was in the movie 'Movie 43'

Answers:

HUGH JACKMAN
Jonjo; Infludexton*; LewisGT; Sharon 🍷 03

ELIZABETH BANKS
J🐠hq; Chez Wallago 🐠; WhoOdyssey; PeteFromLeeds 03

HALLE BERRY
Jack; Hauspital* 01

BRADLEY COOPER
Mack. 🐠 -05

> We have a TIE AND our first INCORRECT ANSWER. Hugh Jackman & Elizabeth Banks both scored 3 points a piece for the 8 members who answered them! Halle Berry manages to give Hauspital* a boost and get him off 00 as Jack also answers her. Unfortunately for Mack though, Bradley Cooper wasn't in it! Unless he's removed himself from my memory as well as wiping all knowledge from the internet coz he doesn't want to be associated with that monstrosity! :') (If you can find me proof, I'll re-add your 5 points, but unfortunately I don't think it was. <

Q. 04 | A musical that would currently be in the west end (if Covid-19 hadn't hit)

Answers:

HAMILTON
Jonjo; Infludexton*; Chez Wallago 🐠; Sharon 🍷 03

THE LION KING
LewisGT; Hauspital* 01

& JULIET
J🐠hq; PeteFromLeeds 01

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
Jack 00

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
Mack. 🐠 -05

HARRY POTTER & THE CURSED CHILD
WhoOdyssey-05

> 'Hamilton' is a clear winner here getting 4 players 3 points! At the very top of my list of musicals to watch. 'The Lion King' scores a point for both LewisGT & Hauspital*, one I HIGHLY recommend. I WEEPED. Successful new musical '& Juliet' scores Jahq & PeteFromLeeds a point each too, whilst Jack gives 'The Phantom Of The Opera' as his answer, but unfortunately it leaves him pointless. Mack. gives an incorrect answer as 'Fiddler On The Roof' ended in 2019 and WhoOdyssey gave an answer which wasn't a musical </3 <

Q. 05 | A movie that got pushed back to a later date in 2020.

Answers:

NO TIME TO DIE
Jonjo; J🐠hq; Infludexton*; LewisGT; PeteFromLeeds 04

A QUIET PLACE 2
Chez Wallago 🐠; Jack; Sharon 🍷 02

MULAN
Hauspital* 00

BLACK WIDOW
WhoOdyssey 00

GODZILLA VS. KING KONG
Mack. 🐠 00

> James Bond's 2 millionth outing was the top answer here. 'No Time To Die' was the first huge release that got delayed due to Covid-19 and got the ball rolling for other major releases to do the same. 'A Quiet Place 2' was the 2nd top answer, which was also an early delay, but is one of the earliest rescheduled dates I believe as it opens again on 4th September (so far). Disney's live action remake of the year, 'Mulan' & Marvel's 'Black Widow' give Hauspital* & WhoOdyssey no points. Mack actually incorrectly answered, however I didn't specify that I wanted a delayed release due to Covid-19, so technically 'Godzilla vs. King Kong' is correct, but scores pointless. <

I've got all top answers apart from 1 question which is not too bad indeed.

Not disappointed about not getting Hamilton, I think it was on because someone on the Empire podcast mentioned it but I still never would have remembered it.

SORRY FOR THE DELAY. OMG.

Q. 06 | A musical or stage show that was (or currently is) running for 10 or more years

Answers:

LES MISERABLES
Jonjo; Jack; WhoOdyssey 02

THE LION KING
Chez Wallago 🐠; Hauspital*; Sharon 🍷 02

THE MOUSETRAP
Infludexton*; PeteFromLeeds 01

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
J🐠hq 00

MISS SAIGON
Mack. 🐠 00

CATS
LewisGT 00

> A bit of a close one. No wrong answers, 3 pointless answers, one a bit surprising considering there was a very high profile movie released not too long ago. But the top 2 answers are no surprise. Both 'Les Miserables' & 'The Lion King' are considered 2 of the greatest stage musicals of all time. LM has run for approx 8000 years or something and The Lion King has been going for over 20! Hauspital* getting a running theme with his votes :') 'The Mousetrap' seemed to score a point as 2 members decided to go for it. I have NO idea what it is/was :') The last 3 pointless ones have all been around for DONKEYS! <

SORRY FOR THE DELAY. OMG.

Q. 07 | A musical stage show that has been adapted for a movie.

Answers:

MAMMA MIA
Jonjo; J🐠hq; Infludexton*; Sharon 🍷 03

CATS
Chez Wallago 🐠; LewisGT; Jack; WhoOdyssey 03

SOUTH PACIFIC
Mack. 🐠 00

CHICAGO
Hauspital* 00

THE SOUND OF MUSIC
PeteFromLeeds 00

> Another 3 pointless answers here, WRONG GAME PEEPS!!!!! 'Mamma Mia' & 'Cats' are the top answers, both scoring 3 points to 8 players! 'Mamma Mia' is one of the BIGGEST movies of all time. It's box office run was quite something! 'Cats' is one of the WORST movies of all time. It's box office run was quite something! 'South Pacific', 'Chicago' & 'The Sound Of Music' are all correct, but unfortunately not good enough when you're the only one to answer </3 <

Q. 08 | A movie that has been adapted for the stage.

Answers:

THE LION KING
J🐠hq; Chez Wallago 🐠; LewisGT; Jack; Hauspital*; Sharon 🍷 05

MARY POPPINS
Infludexton*; WhoOdyssey 01

LEGALLY BLONDE
Jonjo 00

SCHOOL OF ROCK
Mack. 🐠 00

HAIRSPRAY
PeteFromLeeds 00

> LMAO LEGALLY FUCKING BLONDE. FFS. THE LION KING IS THE CLEAR ANSWER HERE :') (and finally manages to give Haus a big scoring round :') ) 'Mary Poppins' also manages to score Infludexton* & Who a point each. 'Legally Blonde', 'School Of Rock' & 'Hairspray' (!) were all pointless. I was shocked to learn that 'Hairspray' was a movie before it was a stage show! But whew. <

Q. 09 | An Oscar category outside of the "big 5" (Big 5 = Best Picture, Best Actor/Actress, Best Director & Best Screenplay (either adapted or original)) that's not an acting category.

Answers:

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE
Jonjo; Infludexton*; Chez Wallago 🐠; WhoOdyssey; PeteFromLeeds 04

BEST ORIGINAL SONG
J🐠hq; Mack. 🐠; LewisGT; Sharon 🍷 03

BEST VISUAL EFFECTS
Jack 00

BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM
Hauspital* 00

> It was only gonna be 2 categories for this, imo. But Animated Feature manages to pip Original song to the post! Some good choices from both Jack & Haus though. I imagine Haus tried to go for the recent Best Pic winner being a foreign language movie.. but alas, it didn't pay off sad.gif <
