BuzzJack Music Forum _ Dance _ The Chainsmokers - Paris (feat. Emily Warren)

Posted by: TMD_24 Dec 31 2016, 04:47 PM

Forget the rumours of the next single having a duet with Bebe Rexha or Dua Lipa it appears that the next single is one with Emily Warren and it's called 'Paris'. This will be their first song released since the release of their second EP 'Collage' and the song will hopefully be included in their debut studio album although I'm not sure if this song is going to be the lead single from it. They have already performed this song during a set yesterday and the single is going to be released in January.

The next official single apparently called “Paris“, is expected to be released sometime in January. They performed the song live for the first time during their set on December 30th.

Based on the live performance, it doesn't sound too exciting but it's much better than 'All We Know' which I think is an embarrassment of a song.

Posted by: Auld Lang Snake Dec 31 2016, 06:14 PM

All We Know is great imo but like all of the Chainsmokers songs the drop is awful....

This new one doesn't seem to have an annoying drop...and sounds a lot better than their other tunes.

Posted by: CHRISTIANmas Dec 31 2016, 06:33 PM

THIS SOUNDS AMAZING. So excited for this, looks like we could have a Major Lazer vs Chainsmokers battle for #1 in January, then.

The new Chainsmokers song is more chilled progressive house, maybe that will be the way things will go in 2017 as tropical house and future bass dies away.

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🕊 Jan 2 2017, 04:16 AM

Looks like the vocalist is Louane.

From http://www.youredm.com/2017/01/01/the-chainsmokers-may-have-just-revealed-the-vocalist-on-their-next-single/:

Given the French/"Paris" connection and the similarity between the voices, it's becoming safer to pin Louane as the official collaborator on the next Chainsmokers single.

Posted by: Samantha1989 Jan 2 2017, 04:38 AM

LOVE Avenir so really hope that is true! As generic as they are getting, they are really knocking it out of the park with underrated amazing female artists!

Posted by: *Xmas Ben* Jan 2 2017, 06:38 AM

I don't hear anything interesting in this song so far (in the live version). Closer was awful, All We Know an improvement, but they are far now from my faves Roses and Don't Let Me Down.

Posted by: Liаm Jan 2 2017, 07:32 AM

Now I've heard the name, it does sound like Louane! This will be great if it's even half as good as Avenir.

The dude really needs to stop singing though, that's what marred Closer for me. It's not hideous but it's just so average with his vocals. It would hardly be life changing if it was just Halsey but still.

I agree with you, his voice is unbelievably bad sad.gif

Sounds kinda dull, yeah, but who knows if it'll be their next top 40 just because of the name?
Out this Friday btw.

Posted by: mdh Jan 2 2017, 11:51 AM

Out this Friday cheer.gif, awesome, what an awesome start to the year!

I don't mind his voice actually.

I really like this new style from the Chainsmokers that doesn't have an annoying drop in it.

Posted by: mr_pmt Jan 2 2017, 06:21 PM

I hope it's not as torturous as 'Closer'.

Closer was OK imo apart from the terrible sounding drop.

Posted by: jase. Jan 2 2017, 08:49 PM

Closer was an abomination in every way possible. Saying that, I'm kinda looking forward to this

I agree the whole song was crap. I still don't get how it could be such a huge hit wacko.gif

Posted by: gavindeejay Jan 3 2017, 10:45 AM

Looks like we could have 3 possible New Entries in the Top 40 next week then!

Posted by: Red Blooded Man Jan 6 2017, 03:36 PM

"Roses" is the only song I like, the drop in "Closer" is just unbearable.

Posted by: Hadji Jan 6 2017, 03:39 PM

"Paris" along with with "Ring Her Up" has been delayed

Posted by: JosephStyles Jan 11 2017, 06:13 PM

Confirmed to be out this Friday biggrin.gif

Posted by: mdh Jan 11 2017, 06:23 PM

I don't think I can contain myself ngl :,)

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Jan 11 2017, 10:27 PM

I believe they're doing a radio premiere of this sometime in the morning? Apparently they're doing an interview on KIIS FM in Los Angeles.

Posted by: Tinasha Jan 12 2017, 01:32 PM

I really like this. It's very laid back but very instant.

Posted by: Liаm Jan 12 2017, 03:53 PM

I actually think I prefer Closer! This gets better towards the end but I hate the guy's talk-singing, I wouldn't mind if he just did bits with Louanne but they were so much better producing and peddling underrated female vocalists like Daya and ROZES laugh.gif

Posted by: Samantha1989 Jan 12 2017, 04:10 PM

CAN HE STOP SINGING PLZ. Ugh drama.gif

Another Chainsmokers track he's ruined. Rly not liking this on first listen sad.gif

Posted by: Red Blooded Man Jan 12 2017, 04:37 PM

I have so much expectation for this tune but it's so banal. sad.gif

Posted by: mdh Jan 12 2017, 08:54 PM

This is seriously good wub.gif

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Jan 12 2017, 09:33 PM

Judging from their Twitter snippet, the opening sounds pretty serene but I just can't deal with Drew's voice. I need to hear Louane's NOW

Posted by: Cremey Jan 12 2017, 11:08 PM

Am I the only one who loves his voice? ph34r.gif
It's Calvin Harris all over again, I far prefer the singles he sings on.

Posted by: Danuary Jan 13 2017, 12:16 AM

This is sounding great! Barely any trace of EDM but it's a great pop song so can't complain much.

Aside; it seems Louane's contribution is so small that she's not being officially credited on the single. Drew's voice isn't half as bad as people make it out to be though at least on record.

Posted by: JosephStyles Jan 13 2017, 01:01 AM

Yeah I'm really liking this! Drew's vocals don't sound bad at all, he's a weak singer generally speaking but I think this is well suited to his voice. Love the vibe it has, and glad it's not a Closer rehash or anything.

Posted by: HarryEzra Jan 13 2017, 01:52 AM

I really like this on first listen WAY more instant than Closer ever was!

Posted by: RoosterSeize Jan 13 2017, 02:04 AM

Another really good single heart.gif

Drew to sing on all Chainsmokers tracks from now on, he's clearly got the magic touch somehow

Posted by: Cody Slayberry Jan 13 2017, 06:03 AM

Okay I'm really into this! Drew's vocals are as weak and underwhelming as ever but the Porter Robinson-ish production and Louane's background vocals do well in carrying the song.

Posted by: mdh Jan 13 2017, 07:43 AM

I love how not-trendhopping this is. Defintely refreshing to see them step out of their comfort zone for once! happy.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt Jan 13 2017, 07:45 AM

It's a little bit boring, but at least it's not awful like 'Closer'.

Posted by: lewistgreen Jan 13 2017, 11:58 AM

So, this is quite good.

Posted by: Hadji Jan 13 2017, 12:01 PM

If those are Louane's vocals, how come she ain't credited?

Posted by: Sonar Jan 13 2017, 12:09 PM

I like this more than "Closer", especially the instrumentals.

Posted by: run Jan 13 2017, 04:22 PM

This actually sounds good love guitar sound.

She takes more of a backseat role in this than Halsey, Daya etc.

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🕊 Jan 13 2017, 06:02 PM

Just to clarify, the background female vocals are from Emily Warren and not from Louane.

Posted by: Cucumberella Jan 13 2017, 06:43 PM

boring as hellllll with terrible lyrics sad.gif

Posted by: Jade Jan 14 2017, 02:00 AM

Really liking this after the first couple of listens! Way more instant than 'Closer' was and I don't see any problem with his voice here.

My only qualm is the enunciation of "parents" laugh.gif

Yeah, exactly. Again, sounds like it was written by a 12 year old after being told what a "hipster" is.

Does that mean we've still got a Chainsmokers/Louane collaboration to look forward to?

Posted by: Dobbo Jan 14 2017, 11:01 AM

Nothing particularly outstanding or exciting about this but I don't think I've ever come across a band whose singles ALL turn into growers quite like these guys, so I'll sit back & let it work its magic.

Posted by: Inna Selez Jan 16 2017, 08:34 PM

Well done, I liked they did it in smooth style.

Posted by: Sonar Jan 17 2017, 11:47 AM

This song is such an earworm!

Posted by: blacksquare Jan 17 2017, 02:37 PM

This is very I wanna be big on Myspace

awful

Posted by: Juliano Jan 17 2017, 09:00 PM

Nahhh. This one no.

Posted by: Sonar Feb 1 2017, 12:57 PM

Apparently we're gonna hear a lot more of this kind of stuff with Chainsmokers promising an album this year.

Posted by: jakewild Feb 8 2017, 12:26 PM

this has lodged itself into my brainnnn

it'd be so much better if the last chorus actually went somewhere tho. give us a sax. anything.

Posted by: jase. Feb 9 2017, 10:24 PM

Those lyrics are f***ing embarrassing but the instrumental is really nice.

Posted by: Dobbo Feb 9 2017, 10:26 PM

Unfortunately for me this is their weakest single to date, given it plenty of chances but it's doing nothing...

Posted by: Chez Wombat Feb 9 2017, 10:50 PM

I actually really like this, strange as Closer still sounds average to my ears, but his vocals have quite a nice and distinct tone here and the production feels a lot more exciting. Not bad after I'd kind of written them off after what came after Roses.
