As an older chart fan I really can't see any defined genres at all anymore no matter edm-pop or any other sub genre names people give them - it all sounds the same now for me even guitar music to become a chart hit has to revert to the sound of the rest - or maybe I'm just too old now?!

Haha, no you're not the only one. I find a lot of it merges into one. Some of it becomes successful and some of it doesn't for whatever reason. I was checking back through 1999 charts recently and it was so different - lots of different genres, very different sounds, all together in one chart, week after week. Seems crazy how different it is 2 decades on.

Yeh I think 2007 was a big change as rappers like Dizzee Rascal produced pop-dance tracks instead of grime for a period!
