Lol T4P. I like some of her choices
Ooo some good choices
Mmm, I wonder how significant it was her choosing the Take That comeback single amongst her 10 tracks?
strange choices...
I think she made some good choices.
mel c was just on the late late show here in ireland and sang carolyna live which was great really brill live, then she done an interview she was in great mood really happy with her solo career success in europe and isnt do bothered by how she has been percirved in the uk,she also admitted she was happy when the spice girls ended as she had had enough and wanted to address her own things
will have to try and find her live on youtube, doesnt sound too good for her doing the reunion then
I wish people would give up on the god damn reunion lol.
Glad she did Carolyna! Start promo nice and early Shes doing a HMV signing too so hopefully Carolyna will do better in Ireland than IWC!
ya me to i dont think it will ever happen as according to mel none of them want a reuninion they want to be remembered as the huge success they were and not tranich that memory
If you go on the late late show website, the whole interview & performance is online
Great performance and really interesting chat!
Mel C on The Friday Night Project as guest host ... anyone watching?
I love her
She is not only stunning, but also very funny and down to earth Love her.
I saw the guys asking her about the re-union, then a blazing row started in the room I was watching it in! As a result I completely missed what she said; can anybody fill me in?
She only teased and said things might happen etc, no details
Mel C worried she can't have children
Wednesday, July 4 2007, 10:53 BST
Digitalspy.com By Kimberley Dadds
Melanie Chisholm is worried that she might not be able to have children because of her extreme fitness regime during the groups heyday could have ruined her chances.
The singer, who announced last week that she has reunited with the band for a reunion tour this December, has spoken out about her concerns over conceiving.
She told The Sun: "I got so thin when I wasn’t eating my periods stopped and my bones become very fragile. I may have done permanent damage. I hope I’m still in with a chance.
"It took me a long time to recover from the whole experience that was the Spice Girls. I had put pressure to on myself to look a certain way. I went to the gym constantly and trained constantly. I wasn’t eating properly. I wanted to get as perfect as I could knowing that perfection is impossible and that got me very sick.”
Sporty is the only Spice Girl left to not already have children or be pregnant, since Baby Spice Emma Bunton is expecting her first child this summer.
Chisholm admitted: "I’m happy with my situation but I want to be a mum and I’d like more than one child."
Any Comments?
I know someone that had eating issues and got pregnant, so I think there is a chance.
Aww I hope that's not true.
She could always adopt I suppose but it seems like she really wants some kids especially as all the others have a truckload between them
I really want her to have kids, it'd be lovely to see her settle down with a family. If she wasn't that bothered I wouldn't mind much, but the fact that she obviously wants a family makes it quite horrible that she might not be able to. She needs to join the other Spicies as a member of Mothercare
Well unless she has confirmation from a doctor that she 100% definately can't, I don't think she needs to be too worried...
She's probably just fretting and worrying that the thing she wants so much is all going to crash.
I hate the press. This is such a horrible thing to print about anybody, whether true or not. If she really is worried, you can only imagine how much worse she'll be feeling now she's read this.
its very private and the press shouldnt print this kinda stuff
Geri Halliwell managed...and news that Nicole Richie is preggers, I dont think there should be a problem. Good Luck Mel
good luck also i say and i think she would make a great mum
Ooh. I really hope that won't happen. I wish her the best luck.
oh bless her, hope she can have children one day
its only now i realised she is the only one not a mum in th egroup well i know emma isnt yet but will be soon

When was this again? Lisa looks beautiful and Mel looks good too.
When she was promoting Never Be The Same Again back in 2000 I'd guess Doesn't Lisa look beautiful?
Melanie, on the other hand, has had finer moments
such a shame lisa died so so syoung
eugh, how bad does mel look there
Lisa's eyes sure are something else. I could stare into them for days at a time.
Oh, yeah. I remember now. I loved their TOTP performance when Lisa just popped up at the back and came on stage to do her rap. Mel sounded pretty good during that performance too.
Mel C was not looking great during 1999 and 2000 IMO! She looks amazing now though !!
I loved this song with Lefteye. So sad that she died so young as she has done so many amazing songs.
Mel C looks hideous on there! That gold tooth as well.
gotta love lisa....lovely picture
does anybody have the video of this performance, or any more pics of them together?
Melanie have so many fans here in my little country, Portugal, have been here many times and is so sucessful here as well.
I've been looking around for some of her performances/interviews in Portuguese TV shows, so you guys can see them as well (if you haven't already). It's like a Portuguese compilation. Enjoy!
From old to new.

Thanks for posting Teresa. I for one appreciate you digging out these performances! She is great.
I don't believe in any of these Japanese hocus pocus potions
they gave her the 'increasing bra size' cookie to eat she didnt 'reveal that she is eating special Japanese cookies to increase her bra size' lol
That was just a joke from when she was on with Scott Mills yesterday !!!
If anyone needs to eat cookies its posh!
stereotyping will sadly never go away
Is anyone else ACHING for Celanie Mee to put out a GH? After the Spice tour is over would be such perfect timing too, and when you think about it, she's had more than enough singles to make it worthwile. This could be the tracklist:
1. Next Best Superstar
2. Carolyna
3. If That Were Me
4. Never Be The Same Again [ft.Lisa Lopes]
5. Here It Comes Again
6. Goin' Down
7. On The Horizon
8. Northern Star
9. This Time
10. Melt
11. I Want Candy
12. Yeh Yeh Yeh
13. I Turn To You
14. When You're Gone [ft.Bryan Adams]
15. [New Single]
16. [New Song]
17. [New Song]
18. [New Song]
And there could be a DVD edition featuring all of her music videos. I recon it would sell really well, what with the inclusion of so many early hits as well as later songs like NBS that people still remember, it would help get people back into her music and basically revitalise Celanie Mee's career!
Thoughts?
Would be a great idea!! Do you mean to put Celanie Mee?
Celanie Mee
No I would deffo buy this tbh. It would seem the logical step for her seems she's had 4 albums now?
I mean after the reunion tour maybe she would like to work on a new album? Who knows.
I would buy all their GH's tbh cept Mel B's and Victoria's. Don't like enough of Mel B's stuff plus those two would hardly have any material to fill it with
I would go for:
01. Never Be The Same Again
02. Next Best Superstar
03. Northern Star
04. When You're Gone
05. Yeh Yeh Yeh
06. Here It Comes Again
07. Carolyna
08. I Turn To You
09. On The Horizon
10. Goin Down
11. Beautiful Intentions [Wasn't this a Europe single?]
12. If That Were Me
13. I Want Candy
14. This Time
15. New Song
16. New Song
17. New Song
i would definitly buy it plus she has enoug hmaterial for a greatest hits also
I agree! I loved 'Carolyna'. TBH The reaction to the reunion hasn't been huge in terms of sales this time round. I think they were overestimated
Sadly, I don't see any of them reforging a solo career from this.
Carolyna' was brilliant and deserved to be a hit,im starting to agree that the comeback was over estimated i know the tour is sold out but the album and single sales are shockingly disappointing so far,the press coverage in negative and radio support is almost non existent
A Greatest Hits wouldn't be such a bad idea, afterall the likes of Natalie Imbruglia, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Jamelia can get away with releasing one after 3 albums and Melanie has 4.
Most people hardly bough the 3rd or 4th album though Hardly even knew about the 4th.
My tracklist would be,
01. I Turn To You
02. Northern Star
03. Never Be The Same Again
04. When You're Gone
05. Goin' Down
06. Here It Comes Again
07. On The Horizon
08. Melt
09. Next Best Superstar
10. Better Alone
11. If That Were Me
12. Yeh Yeh Yeh
13. First Day Of My Life
14. I Want Candy
15. Carolyna
16. This Time
17. Protected
18. NEW SONG
I think its a good idea and I might even buy the album if it was out!
You should tell her record company about your idea!
problem is with her first two albums being on a different label to the second two (her own)
i think its a good idea, i'd buy it
She's doing a solo gig in LA at http://themintla.com/ night club. B) It's an acoustic set next Thursday!
Wish I could go !
Hmm I wonder if she's going to try and release some of her solo stuff in the US once she's done with the Spice Girls?? I can see Carolyna being a big hit over here.
I reckon this indicates she will do solo song(s) on tour cuz otherwise she wouldn't be rehearsed for a solo show... She might ahve several solo songs prepared to sing a different one each night of the tour. Maybe!
Hopefully the first night, she will sing some vintage mel c stuff, none of her last 2 albums, please... not a fan
LOVE her solo stuff, wish i could go too. btw, it's already sold out.
Im sure they could work something out to come up awith a greatest hits
I've only got Northern Star and a I Want Candy... I was actually thinking I wish she'd release a GH because I would definatley buy it. A DVD would just be ace too
Melanie did the gig. Beforehand she updated her myspace:
The set list she played last night is just perfect! Not one song I don't like and many of my favourites . I hope she does a couple in London....
Video of I turn to you acoustic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkgOa2Kxvbs
f***ing amazing !
I wish she would concentrate more on the spice girls - I reckon the other girls would want a totally new album and to carry on if it wasnt for mel
although mel is the best singer of all of them but she could stop for a year or 2
i dont think they want to do another new album at all but i do agree mel c is probably the least interested but im glad she is keeping the solo stuff going as i love her solo material
Melanie C has confirmed that she is planning to settle down and have kids within the next few years.
The singer admitted that she is feeling broody after spending time with the children of her bandmates backstage during the girls' world tour.
"I want to be a mum in the next few years. But it hasn't been the right time yet," Mel told The Sun.
"I am enjoying the other girls' children. They are really lovely kids, from the little babies, to Phoenix and Brooklyn. And I can give them back at the end of the day. They are lovely and I'll have me own one day."

Mel C to have tattoos removed
Sunday, January 13 2008, 09:36 GMT
Digitalspy.com
By Daniel Kilkelly
Mel C has decided that she will have all ten of her tattoos removed once the Spice Girls reunion tour is over.
The singer has vowed to pay £10,000 for laser surgery to remove the images, which remind her of her battles with anorexia and depression.
Mel's tattoos include a Celtic cross on her left arm, a phoenix across her shoulders and a flower on her lower back.
A source told the News of the World: "Mel is determined to have her tattoos removed as soon as the tour is over because they remind her of all her unhappy times. It's going to be a massive job and very painful but she thinks it's worth it.
"Having to parade around the stage every night in tiny costumes has encouraged her to make the decision."
Do you think she is right to want to get rid of her tattoos or not?
Good choice I say.
It's no way true!! NOTW have made it up!
I was going to say, just because people get tattoos to commemerate hard times in their life doesn't have to mean everytime they look at them they're forever depressed and unhappy, it's probably nice to look back during better days and think how far you'd come. Getting such tattoos can actually be a huge step towards healing the pain.
And it does say 'a source told News of The World' so I don't believe the story for a second.
If its true then I say its up to her and whatever makes her happy
it is the News of the World so there probably is about much truth there as a speech by Gordon Brown
but if it is true, whatever makes her happy
Whats her reason why she wants to removed her 10 tattoos???
Melanie C Canadian Tour Announcement

Following the massively successful Spice Girls Tour which saw the group kick-off and end the tour right here in Canada, Melanie C is once again giving her Canadian fans lots to be very excited about! Her new solo album This Time, which has already garnered rave reviews and become a hit overseas, will be released via Bristol Sessions Recordings/EMI Music Canada on April 8, 2008. The first single “Carolyna” is already enjoying lots of great radio play here, while the video stations are also showing this track lots of love and support as it currently climbs up the MuchMoreMusic Top 20 Countdown.
Shortly after today’s release of This Time, Melanie C will hit the road on an amazing 9 City Canadian Tour! The tour kicks off in Montreal on May 4 and then wraps up in Vancouver on May 17. During her recent promotional stops at MuchOnDemand and MTV Live the overwhelming crowd turnout and reaction demonstrated just how much Canadians love Melanie C and can’t wait for this new album!
Melanie C has built a tremendous career in Canada both as a Spice Girl (with sales of over 3 million here) and with her own critically acclaimed solo releases (her first solo album Northern Star was certified Gold in Canada). She has co-written 11 UK #1 singles - more than any other female artist in chart history - and remains the only female performer to top the charts independently and as part of a duo, quartet and quintet.
Always one to give of her time to others, Melanie C will also be performing at the Denim & Diamonds Charity Event at Marche Bonsecours in Montreal on May 3 - the day before the tour begins. For more information on this event please call: (514) 340-8255 or go to http://www.denimdiamonds.ca

Mel C, Beverley Knight, Starsailor and Staind have all teamed up with the Hard Rock Cafe and The Caron Keating Foundation to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research, by playing a series of very special shows.
Entitled Pinktober, the shows will take place at the Hard Rock Cafe in London on September 17th (Staind), October 8th (Beverley Knight), October 9th (Mel C) and October 15th (Starsailor).
All proceeds will go to The Caron Keating Foundation, which offers financial support and grants to all types of cancer charities, professional carers, complimentary healing practitioners, as well as individuals and families who are affected by the disease.
Founder of the foundation, Gloria Hunniford said:
'I am so thrilled that Hard Rock Cafe has chosen to support the Caron Keating Foundation again...Caron used to present a television rock programme as well as hosting, occasionally, Top of the Pops, and I know she would truly approve of Pinktober and how many people dealing with cancer will be helped through your efforts in raising money, in her name.'
Tickets are on sale now. See www.hardrock.com for further information.
Ooh it's good that Beverley is doing this, I almost want to go because I've never seen her live, but it's called "Pinktober" and it's mostly for breast cancer so it sounds like quite a female targeted event. Her day is the 8th of October, which is Simon's birthday.
Yeah, really good to see Beverley is doing this. I think you'd be the only male there Aaron, if you went LOL
So pleased for her - was very unexpected!
Did anyone catch this! Thought it was a really good interview and great to see her baby bump !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-88nZ_TcBo
Ok so i just got back from The Paul O'Grady show and Mel B was in for Paul as he's on holiday..Mel C was one of the guests
Mel was a really good host, the interview with Mel C was like two best friends gossiping, they spoke about how Mel C now has a house in wales to get away from how busy London can be...Also how she's not getting married and they spoke about how much they enjoyed the tour etc
Will be on tomorrow at 5
lucky you getting to be there,,im looking forward to seeing this on tv

But big congrats to Mel an Tom!
Edit: Rumoured to be a baby girl
Huge congrats to Melanie and i hope everything is well with baby and mother
According to some sources, its a baby girl!
once the baby is healthy it doesnt really matter if its a boy or girl
Congrats Mel!
yay....congrats mel...
they are now officaly Mums, its amazing really when you look back at wannabe video and look at them now, what a difference eh!
She called the baby Scarlet Starr
scarlet isnt a bad name at all for a celeb baby
I'm so happy for her ... I know how it feels to have a baby later on ... its great!
Norma
Im sure she is on top of the world i know from been a dad myself that been a parent for the first time is the most amazing feeling in the world
In the supermarket this morning I spotted the cover of Hello and it had a picture of Mel and baby Scarlett on the front. Apart from a tiny bit of lip gloss she didn't have a scrap of make up on (Mel - not the baby) and yet she looked absolutely fabulous. Far more natural and pretty than any of the other spices. The baby is absolutely adorable too and I'm not one to coo over babies - to me they all look like Winston Churchill or Queen Victoria!
Norma
Here's the teaser:
mel was always very under rated look wise as a spice girl and i think she is far best looking in the natural way posh is the wosrt looking
this i would be definitly interested in buying
Cant wait for this release!
Taken on March 18th only surfacing now!
http://www.zigazig-ha.com/zgallery/thumbnails.php?album=2610
Mel looks absolutly stunning in the pics looks very down to earth side we see there rather than celebrity,is that her parents is the fitsy 2 pics?
Yeah her mum and step-father. An the girl in the other picts is Ying her assistant
thanks for that,i was thinking it was but i wasnt positive
I was looking through some of my old cd's yesterday and discovered this on the Northern Star single. I probably heard it when i got it but can't remember, anyway I really like this! I usually don't think much of b-sides but this is really decent Much love for Northern Star too of course, still amazing!
My fave Mel C song EVER!
its a good song not my fave but northern star was such a huge era commercially but i think all her albums deserved the same success but lets go is still my fave mel c song ever from reason album
Follow Me? I never heard that song.
Is it a ballad like "Feel The Sun"? honestly FTS is a great ending for an excellent album
Out: June 29th, All proceeds go to the Caron Keating Foundation.

Melanie C 'plotting pop comeback'
Friday, July 10 2009, 13:36 BST
By David Balls, Music Reporter
Rex Features
Melanie C has reportedly started working on her fifth solo album.
The former Spice Girl gave birth to daughter Scarlet in February and has since returned to the studio.
She admitted that she was eager to record an upbeat LP, telling The Mirror: "I'm a rock girl, it'll be big rock numbers!"
Despite her 2007 record This Time peaking at number 57 in the UK, the singer has enjoyed widespread success across Europe.
Former bandmate Emma Bunton recently revealed that she is considering working on some new solo material.
Hmm I'd like to hear from them both but I doubt either would do well anymore, Mel C might still do well in some european countries though, just not over here unfortunatley
i agree mels next album will probabaly do aswell as the last at best as she is criminally ignored in the UK, i hope she can retain her european success but i will be buying the new album regardless and its an album im quite looking forward to, sadly we wont have the forum to discuss it but we can start a thread in the pop forum when we get details about a new album.
I hopes she ditches writing with or accepting songs from Adam Argyle. Unless its listenable like Next best Superstar. Cant wait for her new album!
it will be interesting to see who she will work with, id love an album a bit like reason as that is still my fave album i would love a few songs in line with Lets Go,i adore that song and always felt it was screaming to be a single.
I wish she'd go back to who she works best with, like Rick Nowels and Richard Stannard. Yeah Guy Chambers gave her the smash hit First Day of My Life, then comes up with that $h!t Protected!
She really needs a new team behind her, her management sucks but she'll never leave them shes been with Nancy for ages now and i mean what kind of management company doesnt even have a bloody website!! But yeah new team is deff needed, especially when it comes to deciding the album tracks and what singles to go for, and jesus i wish she would stop putting out better b-sides than album tracks!
Melanie C's i'm very interested in, but Emma's not so much. I don't like that "early listening" music she makes
ya mel's management promo team etc seem very lacksy daisy and i agree who ever is picking the singles should have a re think as apart from the northenr star album they have got most of the single releases so wrong.
I love Melanie C, I hope this new album does better.
'Northern Star' single-wise had everything, and she covered so many different genres.. I wish she could go back to that kinda stooff
i love her myself but and when i say this i do hope i am wrong i cant see mel having any major uk success with the new album
from melaniec.net
Melanie is thrilled to announce that she is to star as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers at the West End’s Phoenix Theatre! She is due to start rehearsals next month and will make her debut performance on October 26th. Melanie says:
"I'm a great believer in fate and when the opportunity came along to audition for 'Blood Brothers' I couldn't resist. It's such a well-loved show and has always been one of my favourites and the Liverpool connection just adds to the appeal. It's a real honour to be asked to take on the role of Mrs Johnstone especially following in such great footsteps. I love a challenge and I think the discipline of theatre combined with the inspiration of Willy"
How beautiful is she looking these days!! Love her!!
so no Spice Girls musical then? haha
What was she on there for?.
have you heard this version?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8TZLyQOORc
It was released as a single, but I cant play the video in youtube...
I really hope Mel beats John Barrowman cant stand him! Shes currently 3rd.
http://www.whatsonstage.com/surveys/fillsurvey.php?sid=29
Also small Mel C update: This Time and Live Hits DvD have just been released in Brazil, Beautiful Intentions will be released there in early 2010, and she has herself said she will go to Brazil when she can, most likely after Blood Brothers.
Also Mel will be on This Morning next Friday to talk about her experience in Blood Brothers!
I hope we get some new stuff in 2010 aswell
She has said that she's gonna start writing in the new year, now that she has settled into blood brothers. And she said she misses being Melanie C and gigging so she will deff be back soon! After April when blood brothers end we should hear some music updates if not before.
Also random update, Northern Star is no longer in print.
Its tomorrow, shes nominated and performing!!
You'll be able to watch the ceremony LIVE fullscreen on your computer from 18:30GMT! www.olivierawards.co.uk
MelanieC.net is having a compition to remix the song Your Mistake and the winner gets hand written lyrics of Your Mistake and Shure SRH840 headphones.
All details here:http://www.melaniec.net/remix-competition
A thread to post random news & chat about Melanie C!
Nice to see there's now an SG forum with their own thread. Sound like there was already some discution about them in the past seeing the age of some posts!
Loving your reply coming 8 years later!
I'm generally happy with most of Melanie's single choices too. I loved Burn at the time of The Sea's release so I was really wanting that to be a single! I think that was one of her major missed opportunities.
Burn is still her best
Melanie C is being interviewed by John Bisop 9pm channel W tonight.
Cool can't wait to see it .
She's on celebrity juice tonight .
Yay, I've got it recording ready to watch tomorrow! Love Celebrity Juice!
Apparently Melanie is back in the studio with Bryan Adams! What do we think just a re-recording of When you're gone for a GH? Dare we hope beyond hope that it's a new song? Also she said in a podcast with Daisy Lowe she is currently working on 2 albums... What are these do we think? Greatest Hits of her own? Could the re-recording be for her own Greatest Hits? A new album? A new themed album? So many options
Awesome news
If it is for a GH surely she can license her singles from virgin and not lose out too much . GH Hardly sell these days anyways.
hi guys I am from DD
first.....where have you seen information about Mel and Bryan recording anything....I saw some pictures, that seemed to be in photo studio....(maybe for some artwork)...bye the way Bryan Adams is releasing his Greatest Hits (if I am right today)
second.....why are most of you so excited about greatest hits album??? it is not like you cant make your own.....you don't have to put in different CDs to mix her hits from her albums.....
I thing GH are useless, waste of time and money......I prefer her to work on new material
ps: I cant find her name on celebrity juice panel for tonight......
PS2: Melanie will perform tomorrow in Royal Albert Hall on Festival of remembrance (for the royal family)
If you listen to the podcast she tweeted about, you'll hear that she plans to work with new people in the new year.
It's time for her first GH
I totally agree and if the Spice Girls reunion happens it would be the right time and take advantage of the exposure.

I've collected some very, very interesting bits from a new interview. You can read it in full here: http://www.albumism.com/interviews/the-magnanimous-musical-adventures-of-pop-pioneer-melanie-c
INTERVIEW: The Magnanimous, Musical Adventures of Pop Pioneer Melanie C
QH: “Room For Love” is your newest offering from Version of Me. What makes that song special for you and makes you want it to speak for your record in the public’s eye?
MC: This particular song, I didn’t expect it to ever be a single. But there was so much love for this song from the fans as I’ve been traveling around and performing the album this year, it kind of felt like we had to do it. As a thank you for all the support over the year.
This song is special to me, as it has quite a personal lyric. It was inspired by me reaching a point in my life where I have so much stuff, whether it be materialistic or responsibilities, our lives are just so full! But I was without love. I just got to the point where I had to make room, I’ve had to find some space (for love). To love and to be loved are the most important things for a human being to experience. That is where the inspiration came from for the lyric. And I just love it melodically. It was my first session with Sons of Sonix and it just felt like a magical couple of days in the studio where that song came from.
QH: Let's talk about the collage theme for the partnering music video to “Room For Love,” how did that come about?
MC: Again, I wasn’t really thinking of a fourth single on the album. But I had a trip to Brazil earlier this year and it was phenomenal. I hadn’t been there in about, maybe, 19 years, the fans were just incredible! We had such a great time, it was lovely, it felt like the ‘90s again! [laughs] And this song kept coming up and they kept shouting out for us to do it. So, we (the band) said let’s just do it! I had two musicians with me and we hadn’t rehearsed, but we knew the song, so I just played it with my percussionist and keyboard player. It was a really off the cuff moment!
You know, the feeling had been with this year and reaching out and getting to territories I hadn’t been to for a long time, like Brazil, like Mexico. Unfortunately, I haven’t made it to the U.S., yet. But the love was palpable, it was there and really being shown. It just felt like a nice idea to give back to the fans and get them involved (in the video). And the footage, as you can see from the video, is so brilliant. It was just so great to put it all together and I’m so happy with how it turned out. It was so collaborative.
QH: Among the features from fans and your musical contemporaries Natalie Imbruglia and KT Tunstall, you had a few Spice Girls drop in for a cameo for the “Room For Love” video. Can you talk about that enduring bond with your fellow Spice Girls?
MC: Emma, Geri and Victoria all sent me some little clips to put into the video. That was lovely to have them in there and it really meant a lot to me. And we do! We have this bond which will never be broken. I’m not going to say that it’s a big fairytale existence, because it is not. Sometimes it’s tough, we have our ups and downs, we have our disagreements. But, at the end of the day, there’s nobody else on this planet that knows what we went through, you know? It was a unique experience that the five of us shared, and I don’t think that we will ever be away or out of touch for too long.
QH: Have you given any thought to what’s next with your eighth album?
MC: Yes! I have, I have, I'm working on it right now! I'm just about to leave for Europe, I'm doing a big tour, it's called Night of the Proms. I've been invited along as a guest vocalist. There's a 60-piece orchestra and band on stage, it's a big arena tour, so that keeps me busy until Christmas. And then, in the New Year, when I get back, I start work on the new record. I'm very excited about it, I'm hoping to get the music out in the new year.
It seems like the old way of doing things, where you take off for a couple of years to make a record? It feels like those days are gone. I've enjoyed performing so much this year, I just want to keep going. So, next year's going to be dedicated to new music, lots of live shows and really trying to get back out to the territories I haven't been to for a long time. The world feels so accessible now, I love traveling and meeting my fans all over the world, so that's the plan!
QH: You've amassed an amazing body of B-sides across your seven studio albums. Are there any plans to collect them in one space, physically or digitally?
MC: I think, again, talking about how the industry has changed and how we consume music now, has opened up new opportunities (for me). I'm actually starting to work with a new team of people, management wise, musically and creatively, in the New Year. We are really opening up and I'm thinking about all of these new opportunities out there. I've never done a “greatest hits.” I'd love to do an acoustic record. It feels like now, in music, that the world's your oyster, you know? We used to be on this treadmill when you were signed to a major label and it just feels like we are now, as artists, that we're so much freer than we've ever been. I'd love to get some feedback from fans to see what they like and talk about these possibilities!

That interview was awful I'm not surprised it was by that bellend guy. Mel C having to go off on tangents as his questions were stupid. There is one song in Mel's whole solo career I would ever class as RnB, so why he kept on about it god only knows.
Have you ever wondered how some of the hits would sound in orchestral form?
Aw, Melanie noticed a fan in the audience for 'I Turn To You'? ("Ice, ice, ice"). That was a sweet moment.
They are all so lovely
Thanks for uploading those videos.
I will check them out when i am at work.
If Melanie did release a best of or a gh what singles do you think she should include? She has released so many !! That's without the possibility of including album tracks.

4. I Turn To You
5. Here It Comes Again
6. Yeh Yeh Yeh
7. Next Best Superstar

18. Loving You / Matt Cardle

20. Solo version of a SG track.
Omiited
1. If That Were Me - I adore this track but would not include so exclusion helps NS album trickle sales.
2. Melt
3. On the horizon - Mel hates it , cant see her including it
4. Better Alone - least said about this the better
5. I want candy
6. This Time
7. Understand
8. Rock me
9. Dear Life
10. Room for Love
Melanie has never released a mainstream cover song either? Is that a good idea?
She would be dumb to miss off things like If that were me, On the horizon and I want candy. A huge selling point for any GH is people recognising a lot of the tracks on a GH. Also she can say it includes 'X top 20/40 hits' which those 3 songs add to.
When you're gone
All NS singles
All reason singles minus Melt
IWC, Carolyna
TAI and Weak
IKHSW
Anymore, Room for love
Loving you
New song
New song
18 tracks, mix the tracklisting order so the top 20 hits mingle in with the non charting singles.

WOW Melanie ain't playing
I have no hope for her solo career, I mean she is playing 'camper calling' 🤔 New agent same old shit.
I just cant muster any excitement for her solo career anymore.
Tonight, on Sky 1:
It’s Christmas Live from Royal Albert Hall, 8pm, Sky 1
A whole heap of artists descend on London’s Royal Albert Hall for a good old festive knees up. Melanie C, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Vamps, Alexandra Burke and Shakin’ Stevens will all be there, as will Chrissie Hynde, Marc Almond, Holly Johnson and Alexander Armstrong.
https://s26.postimg.org/hq6nvo2eh/sky_christmas.jpg
I Turn to You (Hex Hector remix) still sounds amazing and is one of my favourite tracks of 2000. She should return with an excellent dance song like that soon.
I read that she's working on two albums
On Christmas day, Melanie hosted a two-hour special on BBC Radio 2. She chatted with Geri, Victoria (!), Ricky Wilson & Michael Ball. In addition, there were shout outs from Emeli Sandé, Chris Martin, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Alfie Boe, Alexandra Burke, Nadine Coyle, Alexander Armstrong, Holly Johnson, Chrissie Hynde & Joss Stone.
You can listen again here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09jqp3m
Can't wait for these albums , Also she's been looking so amazing lately
I just know she is going to release that acoustic greatest hits she was hinting at in 2018, whilst writing and preparing her next new material album.
I don't mind her releasing an acoustic greatest hits, just as long as she releases a normal disc alongside it. A double CD would be cool. I do wonder if she is recording it with an orchestra seeing as she is performing with one at the minute. Something like Sophie Ellis Bextor's record...
A new Melanie C song is featured in the short film THE FIVE WIVES & LIVES OF MELVYN PFFERBERG.
The movie is available to download on iTunes, Amazon & Google Play.
Who has heard it already?

Cool can't wait to hear it .
Happy Birthday to the best Spice Girl, who is celebrating 44 years today.
Happy birthday Melanie C f***ING LOVE YOU !!
Happy Birthday Mel C
She peaked with I Turn To You/ Never Be The Same Again, but with that released 2 of the 3 best ever (OOFY) Solo Spice songs
But she is also responsible for the WORST...
Should Melanie sue Katy Perry? Even The Official Charts Company thinks Katy's Chained to the Rhythm sounds like Anymore. #Justice4Anymore
http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/songs-that-sound-like-other-songs__18842/
Happy birthday to Melanie *.*
They sound nothing alike
The only one who ever released a cover anyway was Mel C - I Want Candy, worst Spice song ever
Erm Geri - It's Raining Men, Mel B - Word Up, Emma - Downtown?
I meant between her and Katy
OHHH, tbf covers are less prominent nowadays, I don't know what came over the early 00s (and late in Mel's case of I Want Candy) when it was an easy single option to release a lazy cover
What if i stay is also a cover.
She's been quiet for while I wonder what's up , she doesn't even post on Instagram that much anymore ..
Melanie, Kylie, Jennifer Saunders, Mary McCartney and others attended http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-5309817/Kylie-Minogue-attends-Jools-Hollands-60th-birthday-party.html in London a couple of days ago:

MELANIE C: ‘THE SPICE GIRLS WERE TOLD THAT GIRL BANDS DON’T SELL’
JANUARY 18, 2018
BY RHIAN JONES
As one fifth of the Spice Girls, Melanie C was part of the biggest girl group in British pop history and has since gone on to have a successful solo career on her own terms.
The group created Beatle-like mania when they burst onto the scenes in the mid ’90s, shaking up what was then a male-dominated pop world and proving that girl bands sell records.
Eighty five million of them, in fact.
After three albums and an acrimonious split, Melanie C released two solo albums on Virgin Records – the same major label the Spice Girls were signed to – before suffering the consequences of missing a sales target.
The following five albums were released via her own label Red Girl, the last of which hit No.25 on the UK Charts in 2016.
So what was it like being on the inside of a pop phenomena? And how has Melanie C, aka Sporty Spice, navigated the music business as a solo artist since?
Those questions and more were answered at the Association of Independent Music’s Women in Music event in London last night, during an interview with the Editor of UK trade paper Music Week, Mark Sutherland.
Read on to find out how the Spice Girls dealt with sexism in the music industry and a final word on those constant reunion rumours.
THE SPICE GIRLS RELEASED THEIR DEBUT ALBUM OVER 20 YEARS AGO. DID YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU WERE LETTING YOURSELVES IN FOR?
Absolutely not. I think for a lot of young people who find themselves in that position, it’s a childhood dream and a bit of a fantasy.
When you have fans you don’t think about the downsides, complications or difficulties you have along the way.
It was amazing and I have no regrets but there is a lot more to it than meets the eye.
But one of the incredible things about the Spice Girls is the impact we had over a really short period of time.
That period was the craziest time and the thing that influenced and changed my life forever, but it was kind of naive to me [at the time].
Even today the thing that astounds me is that there isn’t a day that goes by where at least one of us is written about in the tabloid media.
That is insane, and it’s quite unique of the Spice Girls.
DID YOU HAVE ANY SENSE OF HOW SUCCESSFUL THE BAND WERE OR YOUR WIDER IMPACT?
It all became a little bit surreal. In ’96 when we first started having success, we were switching on the Christmas lights on Oxford Street.
Up until that point, for everything we’d done there had been other artists there, and there were always loads of fans going crazy for us but it felt like a shared thing.
In the hotel overlooking Oxford Street we were the only artists there and thousands of people started to line the streets.
That’s when we realised that they were there for us.
When the success in America happened, it was just like, Wow. It was quite unusual and it still is for British artists.
WHAT WERE THE FACTORS BEHIND YOUR SUCCESS?
I think it was the individuality.
So many young people are trying to find their place in the world and when Spice Girls burst onto the scene, who were a little bit ramshackle, there was someone for everyone to identify with.
When you’re young a lot of people feel like a bit of an outsider and I’m often told about how we gave people strength to do things, whether it was to pursue their ambitions, or give members of the LGBT community strength to come out to their family and friends.
It’s really incredible stuff that we didn’t realise was happening at the time. It was a little bit of an accident, but what a fantastic one!
WHERE DID THE MESSAGE OF GIRL POWER COME FROM?
It was something that we never intended.
When we started, we were a pop group, we just wanted to sing, be famous and travel the world.
But as soon as we were heading into the music industry, we started to be faced with some sexism.
We were told that girl bands don’t sell, we were going into magazines and meeting editors who told us that they couldn’t put us on the front cover because we won’t sell those magazines.
That made us have a little bit of a bee in our bonnet and that’s when we started to talk about girl power.
We realised we have something really important to say and a point to prove. It gave us even more determination to succeed.
We weren’t just doing it for ourselves and for each other, we felt like we had to be a girl band for girls and that was an important message to get out there.
Throughout history, there have been girl bands but they haven’t been as big as the boy bands.
But historically, for music of any kind, a lot of music buyers are women, a lot of the fans are girls – look at Beatlemania.
So being told we couldn’t was like a red rag to a bull with the Spice Girls.
Because we had each other, we had solidarity, so even if we had any personal self doubt we knocked that out of each other because we had this shared belief.
HAS THE SEXISM IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY THAT YOU EXPERIENCED IMPROVED SINCE THEN?
I really do think things have improved.
The Spice Girls had incredible success, we made lots of people lots of money, and that’s a funny old thing for changing people’s minds!
In the last decade, some of the biggest artists in the world have been women and that’s never happened before… Beyonce, Adele, Katy Perry, the list is endless.
We still have many successful men but women have started to dominate.
I like to think the success of the Spice Girls helped open doors for that to happen.
DO YOU THINK THE SPICE GIRLS GOT ENOUGH CREDIT FOR THEIR SUCCESS AT THE TIME?
I don’t think they did. It’s quite difficult in the UK, our media has its personality that makes it quite hard to be successful in the UK sometimes.
People say we like to build them up and knock them down, but I don’t think that’s a British public thing, I think that’s a British tabloid media thing.
We got a bit of stick at the time, and for years later it wasn’t cool to like the Spice Girls, we didn’t really get played on the radio. But that’s changed as time has gone on.
WHEN YOU CAME OUT OF THE SPICE GIRL BUBBLE, WHAT WAS THAT LIKE?
It’s impossible to avoid that being chewed up and spat out scenario because what we did was incredible and we had such a wonderful ride, but it’s really hard to get your head around it.
Your life is turned upside down, you can’t walk down the street, you can’t get the bus or the tube. It’s a lot to accept what has happened and you’re exhausted as well.
We worked so hard and I think that sometimes is taken for granted. When artists become successful it’s really hard work to get to that point and when you’re there, it gets even harder.
I look at other bands, and One Direction always springs to mind, and I feel for those boys because you are worked to death, you are living on adrenaline and when [that ends] you have to regroup and figure out who the hell you are.
That was difficult for me, but going into the studio as a solo artist was really exciting.
Spice Girls got together in ’94 and our last album was released in 2000 so I spent all of that time as part of a collective.
We co-wrote with fantastic writers and producers and we were always very much involved in the writing process, but it was collaborative. What we were putting out there was something we felt as a group of people.
So to get into the studio as an individual and become really self indulgent was really nice.
When I went into the studio and started working on my solo album, there was only four of us left in the Spice Girls, and having that taste of freedom personally and creatively, I was a bit like, I’m over that Spice Girls thing.
It was the kiss of death for me.
WHAT WAS THE SPLIT LIKE?
[The split] was a bit messy. I felt that once Geri had left, it was unraveling.
The Spice Girls is like a jigsaw puzzle and with one of the girls missing, it’s not complete.
Geri was a huge part of the band, we all had a role to play. We were all of equal importance because we brought something different.
When we first got together, Emma was the last person to complete the five and as soon as we met her something happened.
Even now when you get the five of us together something clicks and it’s a little bit magical.
YOU MADE A DRAMATIC LEFT TURN IN TERMS OF THE MUSIC YOU WERE MAKING FOR YOUR SOLO CAREER. WERE YOU TRYING TO DELIBERATELY GET AWAY FROM THE SPICE GIRLS?
Yes, 100%. I was quite an angry young woman and I wanted to rebel.
I didn’t realise at the time, but looking back that’s exactly what I was doing. I wanted to be seen as an individual.
I was more than just Sporty Spice, and that was my way of trying to get some recognition as me.
YOU WERE STILL SIGNED TO THE SAME LABEL — WERE THEY SUPPORTIVE OF YOUR NEW DIRECTION?
As long as you’re selling records, the label is happy! I still had the same A&R and I think everybody was really excited.
Being part of something so successful enables you to work with incredible people, I could have taken my pick.
I worked with William Orbit, Rick Rubin and Rick Nowels, who have had huge success and are respected in very different areas and genres of music.
To be able to do that that excited everybody, including the record company. It was an amazing time and I felt very inspired. It was so easy, the album came together beautifully.
It cost lots of money because there was loads around at the time… looking back I feel a bit sick, but it recouped so it’s fine!
I feel very lucky to have been a successful artist in the ’90s. The hangover of that and the change was a difficult one to navigate.
HOW DID YOU NAVIGATE THAT?
I was unlucky with my second album, it wasn’t as strong as the first in many ways and really underperformed by the standards Virgin Records expected.
With major labels being the way they are, they expected bigger things.
It happened around the same time as the digital age was dawning, record sales were down anyway, and it was quite a fall from grace for me.
We don’t like to say the word dropped… we parted company! That happened and then I had choices, I could have attempted to get another major deal, which is all I’d known, or I could have approached independents.
But I’d been very fortunate with the Spice Girls and had some nice money, so I decided to go the other end of the scale, set up my own label and self financed, and I still do.
HOW IS GOING FROM BEING THE BIGGEST ACT ON A MAJOR LABEL, TO BEING AN INDEPENDENT ARTIST?
There are pros and cons. The biggest thing as an independent artist is complete creative control.
In life, we always have to compromise whatever we do, and you’d be a fool to not listen to what people are telling you, either take it on board or don’t.
But at the end of the day you make your decisions and you do what you want to do.
The difficult aspect of being independent is losing the infrastructure of a major label, the financial support, the departments they have and the clout they have.
The last two years have been a learning curve, my career has happened in reverse.
I had this huge successful global career, I didn’t know what the hell was going on, who did what, who was getting paid for what, where that money was coming from, what was mine and what I was paying for.
Now I have to take more responsibility for myself and I’m still learning more everyday.
For the young artists starting out now, they have no choice. You have to be a business person.
STREAMING HAS TRANSFORMED THE BUSINESS OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. IS IT NICE TO COME BACK TO AN INDUSTRY THAT’S MAKING MONEY AGAIN?
What is so wonderful is it just feels really optimistic.
There are a lot of old school music industry people who had it so good for so long who were very reluctant to change.
But everything changes and you have to embrace it to move on. There is no choice in the matter.
What’s really lovely is seeing younger people coming into the industry and being very creative in every aspect to make it work.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER ARTISTS WHEN IT COMES TO SIGNING DEALS?
To really know what’s going on and have people who can help you [understand contracts].
You have to understand what you’re signing up for.
Then just figure out what’s right for you as an artist, I don’t think any way [major or indie] is the best way.
YOU TOOK A FEW YEARS AWAY FROM MAKING RECORDS AND DID SOME MUSICAL THEATRE AND TV WORK. WHAT WAS THE REASON FOR THAT BREAK?
I released an album called The Sea in 2011 that I thought was great but it did shit and I was a bit gutted!
I just thought yeah, I need to take a step back from this and then lots of other great opportunities came along.
It wasn’t my intention to be away from music for that long. Everything I’ve done I felt really passionate about, whether it was musical theatre, TV stuff, or touring with other artists. All of these things make you better at what you do.
But I was missing being on stage and I really wanted to get back in the studio, there were lots of things I wanted to get off my chest.
Last year I had a whole year of promoting, touring and playing festivals and I was really bitten by the bug again.
Traditionally, I’ve always worked in that cycle of writing, recording, promoting, touring and disappearing, and I don’t want to do that anymore.
I want to stay out there and stay performing because I feel like you get rusty if you’ve not been on stage.
If I don’t perform, I feel like I’m missing a part of my life anyway but also getting back to it after a break is petrifying.
IN THAT TIME AWAY, HAVE YOU SEEN THE INDUSTRY CHANGE WHEN IT COMES TO THE SEXISM YOU EXPERIENCED IN YOUR EARLY CAREER?
It’s still very male dominated, I personally haven’t seen much of a change in that.
I work with so few female songwriters, out of the hundreds I’ve worked with, five have been women, and the producer and engineer world is still very male dominated.
I’m a creature of habit so often work with the same people. I want to make more of a conscious effort to try and find more women to work with.
People like myself need to champion women and seek them out. That’s a responsibility that I have.
HOW ABOUT BEHIND SCENES, ARE THERE ENOUGH WOMEN IN SENIOR ROLES IN THE BUSINESS?
I’ve seen very few women in senior roles at major labels.
I was working with Warner Music in Germany a few years back and there’s a real powerhouse female there who is very much in control. But I would say it’s still very male dominated.
I think people want to change, they are more open to that. There was a time when people wouldn’t take it seriously but they do now.
ARE YOU POSITIVE FOR THE FUTURE?
I feel really optimistic.
It’s been lovely speaking at events like this and seeing how things are changing, how many more opportunities there are, not just for women, but for artists.
You can’t take the foot off the gas when it comes to gender equality, we have to keep pushing for it. But I definitely feel we are making good progress.
HOW ABOUT WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR YOU MUSICALLY?
Who knows? A Spice Girl reunion? No! That’s not on the cards.
All of my energy is going into music right now.
THAT DEMAND FOR YOU TO REFORM IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE THERE.
It’s nice that lots of people would like to see it, personally, I think leave it where it is.
Lots of people could make lots of money out of it so that’s why lots of people want it to happen!
The Olympics in London was the last thing we did as a five piece, to me, you’re never going to beat that.
We’re not getting any younger, let’s face it!

What an honest interview !!!
Still a crime that the sea did so poorly ! Very blunt of her to say it did shit !!
OMG Kylie & Melanie C together
A great in-depth interview! Even though a lot of it isn’t exactly new stuff, for some reason I’ll always find it interesting to hear them discuss their careers.
Seems the performance of The Sea really got to her, a shame how that one turned out. Think About It deserved so much more too.
Is that the first time Kylie and Melanie C have been pictured together?
Mel C has been confirmed as a guest performer at UMK 2018, the Finnish national selection for Eurovision on 3rd March.
Cool
http://www.MelanieC.net has just changed to:
She has signed up to a lot of festivals in the summer .
I wonder if new music is close ?
She's up to something
That font would have been great back for the new millennium with her huge dance tracks!
Can someone keep a thread on upcoming appearances she has been added to the mighty hoopla festival , Sunday June 3rd.
Melanie performed I Turn to You at QX Gaygalan 2018 in Stockholm on February 5th.
It is a Swedish annual awards show that recognizes and honors LGBT people. It was broadcast on the Swedish channel TV4.
WOW she looks hot and I turn to you is so timeless & pure perfection .
I reckon she has something planned to release during whatever Spice Girls are doing. Makes sense as she can promote it alongside whatever is happening.
I hope if it's a greatest hits it is a double CD with the original hits alongside the acoustic ones if that is what she wants to do. I'm happy to have an acoustic Greatest Hits but for the general public she should make sure the original songs are on there.
She said she's working on two albums maybe the GH and something new
Fingers crossed. She is bound to get a ton of bookings to talk about Spice Girls, probs more so than she did with Version Of Me so would make sense for her to take advantage and have something ready to release. A GH makes alot of sense as it will have a broader appeal and more chance of charting better, but it may give her an even better peak than VOM if she did something new and her highest charting Red Girl album.
An accoustic GH will have no appeal to the wider public .
Oh please you think you know it all and know nothing.
Name other artists who have releases acoustic GH recently ?
If you’re going to do it , do it properly .
if she does it will enter at 30 and leave the next week. a proper GH would do much better, but then she has publication rights issues with the virgin tracks no? and they are what would sell it.
An acoustic greatest hits
Release OXYGEN as a single
What is happening on this forum?!
Then she can do orchestral, or remixes, but not acoustic
Oh wow ‘she must copy sophie’ lmao !!!
Do it properly and license them from virgin !!
Or re record them like simply red / tlc where they sound exactly the same (happy with this)
Kylie has also released at least 4 GH collections that I can name.
Same with TLC .
Acoustic hits should be the second CD (along with the standard version).
Yes but Kylie is a bit different she has major record labels backing her while Melanie is on her own independent label. Also Kylie doesn't write any of her songs, while Melanie writes pretty much all of them. You can understand why she feels resentful about paying Virgin to use her own songs.
I'd like Melanie to put an updated spin on her back catalogue for some kind of 'Greatest Hits'.
She won't sell tonnes. And Virgin aren't going to do anything unless it's a guaranteed money-spinner.
But if she wants to do it, why not? I don't really understand the anger on this thread.
I actually think Melanie has a great catalogue for a solo greatest hits, whether it be acoustic or just the original tracks and it would be a great move for her to play up to the nostalgia of Spice Girls by releasing a GH at the same time.
1. Going down
2. Northern star
3. Never be the same again (feat Lisa Left Eye Lopez)
4. I turn to you
5. If that were me
6. Here it comes again
7. On the horizon
8. Yeh, yeh, yeh
9. Next best superstar
10. First day of my life
11. Carolyna
12. Think about it
13. Loving you (with Matt Cardle)
14. I know him so well (with Emma Bunton)
15. Anymore
16. New song
17. New song or He aint heavy he’s my brother (solo version)
18. Too much (solo version)
19. When you’re gone (with Bryan Adams)
That would be a great track-listing.
I'm not a huge fan of HAHHMB but could be a good move for her putting a solo version of it on there then she could technically boast "Includes 3 UK number ones NBTSA, ITTY and HAHHMB, the European #1 FDOML and the UK smash hit WYG with Bryan Adams"
I really believe that a GH of some sort is coming this year, she was recording with Bryan Adams not long ago, I would bet money that they have done a re-recording of WYG for the album.
Ps I would be really tempted to get rid of IKHSW the only reason I included it is because it represents the Stages album, I kinda think Mel will ignore it though (which wouldn't bother me at all).
I like the sound of that track list Spiceboy. But yes, I'd leave off IKHSW too.
Actually, I'd love Emma and Melanie to record their version of '2 Become 1'. The fans know how close those two are.
Totally agree sammy01 - Spice girls nostalgia is cool at the moment. Melanie should jump on that trend.
I've even seen 'Girl Power' slogan tees in the shops. I love it. I miss the 90's so much
Can we all just wait and see what she's been up to ?
What is this!! I have discover it today, I miss denden so much...
That song is awful no wonder it never saw the light of day.
God it is awful. The track itself is fine, but the lyrics are not even middle of the road, they are just bad. I feel this is part of the problem with Melanie for me, she has not advanced AT ALL with her artistry... Most of her outputs since Northern Star suffer from the same thing: boring and badly writen songs that seem to be stuck in the 90s.
If she wants to revive 90s style music, then fine, but at least try and develop, don't just repeat the same stuff...
Anyway, thanks for sharing but that was awful
I really like the demo.
Catchy , it’ certainly had potential.
Who wrote it ?
I want counting to leak
LMAO
'First Day of My Life' is featured in a new article by The Official Charts Company about "big tracks that were hits in other parts of the world but never properly released in the UK":
http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/songs-that-were-never-singles-in-the-uk__13889/
After Melanie C's 2005 album Beautiful Intentions didn't quite match the success of its predecessors, its third single First Day Of My Life didn't see a UK release - but that didn't stop it from becoming a huge hit elsewhere.
Written by songwriting supremo Guy Chambers (!), Enrique Iglesias (!!) and originally recorded in Italian by Andrea Bocelli (!!!). Mel's version catapulted the track to Number 1 in Germany, Spain and Switzerland, and she even rerecorded it in French. Blimey.
http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/songs-that-were-never-singles-in-the-uk__13889/
Nice she got a mention, I mentioned it in the comments on the last article they did like this wonder if they took note? I also mentioned The moment you believe hitting #1 in Spain, Luxembourg and Portugal but that one wasn't mentioned...
Some people always write about the same subject matter - that's not the problem
The problem is no major record label backing for better producers
I would love more songs by Peter vetesse

We’ve watched her transform from Sporty Spice, to mother, singer, songwriter, philanthropist and national sweetheart – we meet Melanie C to talk girl power and beyond.
What does the idea of Sporty Spice mean to you now?
When I first stopped working with the Spice Girls I was quite determined to shake off Sporty Spice and I was desperate to be seen as an individual. As time has gone by, I really embrace my time as a Spice Girl, I’m really proud of it. Being the Sporty one who was a bit of a tomboy that was really important for a big demographic around the world inspired so many young people at the time, not only girls but boys as well. I think I’m probably sportier now than I’ve ever been in the literal sense, so Sporty Spice forever.
What did girl power mean to you then and what does it mean to you now?
Girl power with the Spice Girls was something that was never our intention to scream and shout about. From the start of our career we encountered sexism from both the music industry and the media and it really annoyed us. We were told that girls wouldn’t sell records, that girls wouldn’t sell as many records as boys, that girls couldn’t grace the front cover of magazines because it was boy bands that everyone was interested in and that’s really how girl power was born. It was a very organic thing that happened and it became something that was very important, it made feminism so much more accessible for a younger generation.

What have been your career highs?
I remember when we came home in 1998 to the Brit Awards (everyone will remember because of the iconic union jack dress that Geri wore), that was a year we had been away so much, we had been travelling the globe and we came home to such a warm reception. It was like a home coming.
The Olympics at London 2012 was such an incredible experience, it felt like a kind of celebration of everything we’d achieved. Being in that stadium and having social media, which wasn’t around in the 90’s, was so incredible. We could just feel the international buzz and how people were excited and waiting for us. You know, us girls have always felt a little bit like we’re conning everybody, we love everything we’ve done but we’re just five pretty normal girls and to achieve what we did always makes us chuckle a little bit.
https://s13.postimg.org/6ax42x2wn/DXYyv_OPXUAAz3_QL.jpg
What have been the biggest challenges of your working life?
Being part of something so life changing as the Spice Girls was quite a lot to get my head around, it affects everything you do. It affects people around you, it affects how people view you and that was quite hard to come to terms with, even though you’re living this fantasy life and all of your childhood dreams are coming true. I’ve spoken quite openly in the media about my problems in the past with depression, it’s something that I’ve suffered with and it’s been quite difficult at times, it’s something I have to acknowledge every day to take care of myself.
How do you stay grounded whilst maintaining your career as an artist?
People often say that I’m really down to earth and I’m really grounded, it’s not something I work on or that I’ve ever thought about. I think it’s my roots, I’m a northern girl from a working class background and I just couldn’t be any other way. I probably should throw more diva strops, I think people expect it but that’s just not me so I’ll carry on being lil’ old me.
Who were your role models when growing up?
Madonna was a big inspiration to me, I think I discovered her mid 80’s when she first entered the scene. I’ve always loved to perform, to sing, to dance and when I saw her, it all kind of started to make sense and I just thought, that’s what I want to do.
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
My mum gave some really good advice when I first started my career, she said ‘never do anything you feel uncomfortable doing’. We all have to compromise in our lives and as you get older you realise more so, but you should never compromise on what you don’t feel comfortable doing.
https://www.mintvelvet.co.uk/ppc/girl+power
What is it about yourself that people would find hard to believe?
I got a C in music (laughs) I shouldn’t advertise that should I?
In terms of style and fashion, what inspires you?
I’m really inspired by people who seem to have that sense of natural style, you know they just throw something on and it looks great and I don’t feel like I’ve ever had that. I’ve not always got it right but I think what’s nice about getting older is I’ve become braver in my choices and I’ve learnt more about what suits me. I think it’s really important to feel comfortable and to wear what’s right for you.
https://s13.postimg.org/grd85emjb/DXXg_V2_VV4_AAFvqv.jpg
In between your career and parenting, how do you make time for yourself?
Like so many mums and people in general, life is busy! The more physical side of things is the more ‘me’ time, it’s almost like my personal meditation, it’s the time where I get to think, make decisions. Many times I’ve found running is a great way to make big decisions and I’ve made some great life decisions whilst running out on Hampstead Heath. That’s always been important to me and I’ve found with my mental health, it’s something I’ve had to acknowledge, to be active, and to get plenty of sleep.
What does the future hold?
I really missed being on stage and being myself. I rekindled that love last year so I’m not going to let it go. I want to keep out there, I want to keep performing because when I don’t I feel like there’s a part of my life that’s missing. So I want to keep doing what I love, plan lots of holidays with my family and carry on being creative, performing and making the most out of life.

Melanie is in Finland to perform at the Finnish National Selection Show for Eurovision 2018.
Skip to the 5:50 mark to watch the press conference, in which Melanie confirms she has just started working on a new album set for release later this year!
Melanie with Saara Aalto:
Here is tonight's performance of I Turn To You, with dancers and all: https://areena.yle.fi/1-4376035
And here is a short clip from the dress rehearsal:
Oh girl she better milk this reunion. Red Girl can't stay in the red for much longer! Go Mellie C go!!!
Thanks for posting the performance .
What happened to her music??
HEr best songs are from ONE album ://
Her music is still great but with no impact like I turn to you but still her albums are amazing and I'm happy she's not taking a long break this time
Melanie will be sitting in for Zoë Ball this Saturday on BBC Radio 2 from 3pm. Don't forget to tune in.
Would Mel's solo music career net her much income. Her last few releases haven't really taking off for her and her touring is mainly small venues. Had she not her huge wealth from the Spice Girls and likely money from Norther Star era which was huge would she have the money to keep sustaining her solo music career.
She will still make money from touring , pa’s and festivals.
Also she has written her and spice material so royalties would be decent for her .
Yeah, I highly doubt she actually makes money off doing music as much as she makes from everything around the music. I guess as long as she doesn't go crazy with expensive producers and such she might turn a profit, but not on music alone.
No she certainly does not turn a profit on music alone. I think she was breaking even originally with music releases in Europe combined with touring but she has mentioned how she actually made a loss with The Sea, so I'm guessing it will be the same with Version of me.
I'm sure she makes up for that with all her side projects though, so things like judging on Superstar and Asia's Got Talent will have boosted her income, Blood Brothers and Jesus Christ Superstar. Radio slot on BBC radio 2, touring with Jools Holland, festivals, TV slots, interviews in magazines... she is high profile enough off the back of the Spice Girls to keep making money.
She also does some private and corporate gigs which she charges £160,000 per hour for, (I contacted her booking company to find out how much to book her for my wedding for a laugh lol)...
Yes, i had thought her revenue would be mainly earned from outside her solo music directly.
I welcome she has stayed with it, that is the joy of been in the financial position she is. That said, Mel has done very well to keep her name out there and she always manages to crop up here there and everywhere to keep her name on the scene.
£160,000 PER HOUR pretty good for a musician who doesnt sell more than 10,000 copies of her albums on average
out of interest, what are the sales for her albums?
im sure she still probably earns around 100k per year in Spice royalties which is enough to keep anybody comfortable - especially if you dont have a mortgage to pay
Melanie C is doing some gigs for the boisdale restaurant group.
She is playing four gigs at the end of May. It says she will be playing her greatest hits as well as
songs from her forthcoming new album .
I purchased for 25th May.
Tickets range from £87-175 pound. This includes a three course meal .
You can buy tickets for just the gig too. I think they start from £30.
The gigs are in Canary Wharf .
I'm glad she's not taking a break after version on me
Cant wait - going on the 25th.
For those who didn't watch Sport Relief 2018 on BBC 1 last week - Melanie sings 'Merry World Cup': https://www.thesun.co.uk/video/music/spice-girl-mel-c-leads-a-host-singing-stars-performing-englands-new-world-cup-song-for-sport-relief-2018/

That's cool . I've been wondering where is she ?
i dont mean to offend with this.. but does anybody have an pictures of Mel C during 2001/2002... im just interested to see what she looked while she was in-between her larger frame, lesbian hair and Here It Comes Again.
That acoustic version of Next Best Superstar was amazing I smell Acoustic GH
A new Melanie C interview:
http://www.ahlanlive.com/world-exclusive-melanie-c-explains-whats-really-going-on-with-the-spice-girls-reunion-631876.html
DJ-ing is interesting hope it pans out well for her as it can pay nicely and also as she says is another 'music' related string to her bow alongside singing and musical theatre. She truly is Music Spice in the re-invented Spice for now nicknames
Cute interview can't wait to see some pics of her as a DJ
Dj-ing at the level she will be doing is 1 step above being a wedding singer.
I'm always amazed Mel bangs on about the spice girls legacy when she does such low brow solo stuff like Asia Got Talent, dj-ing and a fill in radio presenter.
LOL the DJ thing is a cool idea and it's like a trend now and it gets huge audience
I am pleased the album is not like version of me .
I really wanna know the tracklist she picked
She played for over an hour nineties hits from the Spice, Daft Punk, Ginuwine, Nirvana, Oasis, Robin S... and some other house, techno, rock classics. It was a fun, very upbeat set and Mel looked on top form.
WOW awesome need to see some pics .
I took a few pics but I am unable to share them here unfortunately.
Get your posts!!
Were you on the DenoftheDen?
Link is not working
Thanks for the pics , I hope we get some videos .
It was another video but thanks for the right one
New Pics and Interview .
http://www.papermag.com/melanie-c-transformation-2558449993.html
Love those pics .
So different for her and she is in a very trendy magazine.
When do you think new music will be released ?
This piece from the PAPER Mag interview teared me up a little:
"My nan passed away earlier in the year. Bloody good innings, she was 93 and she was fabulous. My dad was having to clear her house and he found some letters l had written to her when l was at college and there's a letter l wrote to her which talks about my audition for a girl band. The letter reads, "I'm down to the last 10 and the band will be for five and will be a pop act and l would really love to do it. l have a 50/50 chance."
Oh sweet Melanie
She said the new album will be diffrent than Version of me so I hope it's more dance club stuff .

Support 'Think About It' in the best flop single thread !!!!
I really hope she's not doing an acoustic album... VOM was cool because it was different from she "safe sound" she's done repeteadly and acoustic would be just more of what we've already seen
And I dont get why she doesnt team up with MO, Anne-Marie and Olly Alexander to make incredible duets! That would be powerful!
So Melanie posted on Instagram yesterday a picture of her in the studio recording with Martin Glover, also known as Youth.
He's one of the UK's most respected producer who recently co-produced Pink Floyd and The Jesus and Mary Chain's last records. He also worked with The Orb, Crowded House, Guns and Roses, Killing Joke, Beth Orton, The Verve, The Fireman (with Paul McCartney) and many others.
It's hard to provide a complete picture of his work and influences who's been multifaceted through his 30-year career but they could mostly be described as rock, experimental rock, psychedelic rock, ambient music.
Seems like a real departure indeed for Melanie. Very excited for this one.
Yeah a huge range also produced Dido, Marilyn Manson, Siouxsie and the banshees, U2...
I’m intrigued it’s going to either be very mellow or quite rocky I think.
Exciting news I can't wait for this album
Only two days left until Melanie's 6-nights residency at Boisdale Of Canary Wharf.
The album will be a cover one.
Gosh...
She's doing 2 albums. Did she do any new songs does anyone know?
^ Unfortunately, she did not do any new song and mentioned the album she's working on is a covers album. Slightly less exciting if this is what she's been working on with Youth...
The setlist for the first show she did this week was the following :
Anymore
Never Be the Same Again
Something for the Fire
The One I Love (R.E.M. cover)
Northern Star
Dear Life
Toxic (Britney Spears cover)
Sing It Back (Moloko cover)
When You're Gone
2 Become 1
I Turn to You
Another covers is a disappointing direction for her.
Thanks, if these are covers that will be on the album then I'm not sure I'm interested at all.
Why covers why
I can understand why she is doing it . VOM massively bombed !!
Covers allows her to keep booking festivals etc .
I am going to boisdale on Friday , her version of the R.E.M. track and Moloko is very good.
She also covered human brilliantly , cheap thrills and shape of you last year .
What about the other album GH or what ????
I think she is put off from doing a GH because she will have to license her big hits from Virgin.
Sad , I mean how expensive can it be .
I'm worried that a covers album won't get many people excited. As much as I love her 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me'.
VOM was Melanie's highest charting album since 2005. I'd say it's a good indication of where she could develop from musically. I certainly wouldn't say it massively bombed.
I'd like to see Melanie find a middle ground between VOM and The Sea, whilst keeping it contemporary and relevant.
Also, maybe throw in a Spice Girls sample, to capitalise on the 90's nostalgia moment.
But if it has to be a covers album...
A Girl Power collaborations cover album would be exciting (a la Tom Jones 'Reload').
Featuring the likes of MØ, Dua Lipa, Charlie XCX, Zara Larsson, Alma, Years & Years, Little Mix and/or some of the other spices... All reworking girl power bangers from yesteryear.
But... I'm dreaming.
So it won't be Stages 2.0 just covers and remixes of popular songs Like Toxic etc..
An acoustic covers album, is it any wonder she has about 5 fans left. Who on earth was asking for or wants that?
Who is her target market? Her die hard fans want new original music and her voice isn't most people's cup of tea so I can imagine anyone from the general public saying she has ruined their fave song should they ever hear any.
This seems such a budget release with no artistry or creativity.
At least Stages was understandable as a concept/project (even though it wasn't ultimately my cup of tea). This idea of covering some random modern hits for the hell of it though, I'm not here for it and can't picture it being any good.
She has a unique voice, and applying it to other people's songs doesn't usually work. I wasn't particularly keen on her version of Human and I disliked her Cheap Thrills cover.
I think she maybe doing strictly , release the album after the exposure form the show .
I think she'd do well on Strictly but I highly doubt she is doing it. Also if she was then releasing an original album would surely be much better? I can understand a Stages esque release after Strictly but this???
I'll give it a go but I can't see it being amazing...
Who told her to do this LOL her toxic cover was kinda cute also her version of too much but that's it I don't need a whole album of this
I went to her show this week and she mentioned strictly hence why I think she may of signed on.
I know she has always said no to it .
It did wonders for SEB career after .
I don't know why but i can't see her doing that LMAO
I think it’s quite a smart move for her to do it tbh. If Alexandra Burke could get a top 20 album out of it I’m sure Mel could do something similar if not better. I reckon she would be really good on the show too!
So the two albums are going to be snoozefest
I'd rather have the unreleased songs and b-sides instead of this cover album or at least something Like The Night EP
In case anyone missed this amazing thing that happened...
Melanie C performing at Mighty Hoopla with a drag Spice Girls tribute act. So good!
https://twitter.com/borjaswift/status/1003329220066541572
I was there 👍🏻
WOW Mel looks amazing and so young
She did look amazing
Really looking forward to this “second” album she is writing, I hope the covers/acoustic album whatever it may be raises her profile so she can make more sales of this “youth” album
She posted a pic of her @ the studio she's been working hard on these two albums I can't wait to hear them
Same I can’t wait for both, even if this “covers” album isn’t recieved well it should mean a fairly substantial uk tour so I’ll get to see her regardless!
Hopefully she bins this covers album.
I wonder is she has signed up to strictly this year?
I don’t think she will to be honest she plans on having an album out this year so I’m thinking it must be all recorded by now or very close to it anyway...
Yeah I don't think she'll do it too .
A covers album she should keep away from and release her own material.
Her own material and possibly one or two covers would be ok.
She's really into this cover album so let's wait and see maybe it's good
According to her twitter, Melanie is DJ-ing in Great Yarmouth in a couple of weeks.
Having grown up in the potato fields of Norfolk myself, I'm shocked by the news.
Whatever next... Skegness?
Get money Mel
Gotta pay those bills! I’d love to see some of her albums get a vinyl release, that’s the dream anyway
It’s the new trend so I assum the next one will .
Would be good to get them all out on vinyl so she could generate money from past records. I’d gladly buy one of each! Not sure how it would work for the first two on her old label though... it would be nice to see something for the 20th anniversary of northern star though
Anyone know why mel doesn’t like on the horizon? I read somewhere that she doesn’t play it anymore I just wondered if there was a reason?
^ because virgin forced it to be the second single
I don't like it either
It's a bad song and killed her big career
Radio loved it! On paper it was perfect for the summer. I think I remember reading that she wanted to release 'Reason' as the second single instead - I struggle to see that having done any better, even if Melanie would have been more passionate about its release.
On the horizon was actually a pretty decent single. Catchy, melodic, Melanie sounds great, Radio loved it I'm still really surprised it wasn't a bigger hit, expected it to make top 10 easily and most likely top 5. I think it just came at a time when the public were getting tired of the girls and the majority of their records were failing to have the same impact.
I don't think there was anything else on the album that would have performed better than OTH tbh, I can see why the label insisted on that one for the follow up single.
I think it’s a great track, I Love reason as well but can’t see it doing any better than horizon. It really is a shame that this album didn’t do well but this was at the height of Napster/limewire and I’m sure a lot of artists felt the hit at that time
I can see why the label choose it .
The video is horrid and she didn’t look good when promoting this track .
It was a big radio hit so was a shame it flopped .
It was weak song after here it comes again and you can tell Mel wasn't into it that much and the whole era was a mess but we got some good B-sides that's it
^ I sometimes wonder how the era would have worked out for Melanie if Yeh Yeh Yeh had been the first single instead! Obviously Here It Comes Again was a top 10 hit, so evidently it wasn't a bad choice - I just feel that Yeh Yeh Yeh could potentially have been more attention grabbing as a comeback and gone Top 5? In fact, I wonder how things would have fared if On the Horizon had come first (keeping the summer release date) given it actually did a bit better than HICA on radio? Ha, we'll never know.
My general feeling about the 'Reason' album in terms of commercial viability is that 2003 was a little too late to really capitalise on all the good-will she'd built up for herself in 2000. I feel like the music world was so fast-moving back then, pre-social media, so if you were away for a while you really did stand to lose momentum and risk being forgotten about. It was probably a bit of a miracle that she still had enough people interested in her to score a Top 5 peak & 30k+ first week sales for the album (which made it one of the best initial performances for a solo Spice album). With hindsight it's funny to think that a Top 5/Gold selling album and just one single missing the Top 20 was considered bad enough to drop her.
THne success of NS probably have Melanie and virgin false confidence. I was so looking for award to this album . Running to Woolworths after college , playing it on my disc-man and then feeling disappointed .
The album is the worse of her career howvever I have grown to love most of it over the years. The bsides are really appreciated 👍🏻
In love with T-shirt she looks so cute

Double post sorry
In love with this T-shirt she looks so cute

Yeh Yeh yeh should have been the first single - I've ALWAYS said that!
But it did feel too late.
With better material and a 2001/2 release, she would have done better.
My singles choice :-
1- Here it comes again
2- Yeh Yeh Yeh
3- Water
4- Reason
Again the B-sides were much better than the album
I think HICA was the right choice to lead the album, I actually think the singles were in the right order, although a couple of the BSides could also have made good singles too (I love you without trying). If she had released the album in 2001 I think the singles would all have fared better and the album would have sold better too, leaving it until 2003 was just stupid.
I think the b side wonderland is one of her best songs! Such a great vibe on that track I wished she had explored this style more I think good girl from beautiful intentions came from the same vein musically. Would love to hear live performances of both these tracks. I would have to say beautiful intentions is my favourite record of hers but I’ll admit the the sea is probably her most accomplished
I wonder when she's gonna drop the new albums ?
I'm wondering that too! Bored of waaaaaaiting!
i just wanna say Melanie is looking really awesome lately check her DJ pics and you will know
Gave Version of me a listen again today and I was really pleasantly surprised. I wasn't it biggest fan initially but I actually enjoyed every track on it today and found myself singing along to them as I was doing the ironing!
Yeah Version of me is truly amazing
It really is, I've listened to it 3 times (once while decorating classroom for September, once in the car on way to grandparents then back again, and once when cooking dinner) today and can't understand why I didn't appreciate it as much before?
After re-listening to the albums today I have a new ranking of her solo albums:
1. Northern Star (always )
2. The Sea
3. Version Of Me
4. Beautiful Intentions
5. This Time
6. Reason
I can’t decide on an album order for myself but I do love reason there are some great tracks on there. This time
is probably the one I listen to least but it does have out of time on there which my just be my favourite song she has written. I would say the sea is probably her most dynamic and and version of me the most fun. I really like escalator
1. Northern Star
2. The Sea
3. Version Of Me
4. Beautiful Intentions
5. Reason
6. This Time
She has amassed one hell of a discography.
She's been doing a lot of gigs and singing spice songs and she looks amazing and still no news about the albums
It proves that music is her passion Musician Spice
I think the next era will be rock just like BI she's been playing rock songs a lot and she looks more now like a rockstar
Will be interesting if so. Although I like BI its an album I very rarely listen to anymore, I listen to This Time and Reason more even though I rate BI higher...
New cover song Around the world La la la on her Spotify
This isn’t for me although it’s pleasant .
Her delivery is flawless in its precision, of course. And I like that she's using the more mellow tone in her voice.
I think the German fans will love it.
Anyone heard anything about these albums? I would have expected to hear something by now
No idea she's gone quiet again
I've seen some Insta stories today of Melanie in Bulgaria?
I wish we got more articles/pics of her travelling to Europe or seeing more images/videos of these performances.
Happy 2nd Birthday, Version of Me
I think something spicy is happening so I bet she won't release anything solo at the moment ..
Those 2 years went fast!
Taken from Classical 90's Dance 2, which debuted at #7 in Germany back in October and is #17 this week (its 10th charting week!), 'Don't Talk Just Kiss' (originally a hit for Right Said Fred) is the second collaboration between Alex Christensen, The Berlin Orchestra & Melanie C. It follows 'Around the World (La La La La La)'.
What do you think?
She''ll perform around the world live soon
It's pleasant but not as catchy as Around the world. Would have been really cool if she had done the full album with them.
I saw a clip of around the world live she sounded and looked amazing
I wonder if Melanie's solo album plans have been put on ice for a while? She's been rather quiet on social media lately.
Maybe she’s waiting till after the reunion?
Wish she would bloody hurry up with one of those 'two' albums she was recording!
She seems to have completely abandoned solo music right now but I'm not surprised, Emma's album is shaping up to be a success and I wonder if Mel C is thinking to shop around for a small record deal now.
Yep that is my point, BMG will obviously have deals with processing plants so get better prices for producing vinyls, cassettes etc.
They no doubt will have more power to book Emma promo slots and a bigger advertising budget. BMG seem to have a exclusive signed copies deal with Amazon too.
Also whoever Mel C uses to print her music have been pretty awful haven't 2 or 3 singles had the wrong songs or tracklist and a DVD covered in glue that didn't play.
When you look at the video of Emma signing copies and the big team at BMG it isn't surprising things are more professional.
Had she released Version of Me on a proper record label I think it could've gone top ten - Anything actually got decent airplay and the two following singles got playlisted by Radio 2. (Keeping It In The) Red(,) Girl clearly can't push her music or organise her promo properly even when radio stations pick her tracks up.
Hell, Stages could've gone at least top 40 if not top 20 with a properly focused campaign.
Version of Me was only 1,045 copies behind #15 (she sold 4,084, Shawn Mendes sold 5,129) so you’d think that if she’d had a deluxe CD & vinyl out at the same time, she could have managed Top 15 instead of #25, and definitely Top 20. Given that she’s independent & she managed to sell 4k+ on the strength of 1 CD & downloads*, she didn’t do too badly!
* and minimal streaming.

English superstar Melanie C has announced a collaborative show with LGBTQ+ collective Sink the Pink at the Limelight Belfast on 27 September and the Academy Dublin on 28 September.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday, 11 April at 10 am from Jinjer! Events and Ticketmaster.
Best known as “Sporty Spice,” one of five members of legendary girl group The Spice Girls, Melanie C (born Melanie Chisolm) has also established herself as an illustrious solo artist, with two Number One singles, seven studio albums, three video albums and two live albums to her name.
LGBTQ+ collective Sink the Pink call themselves “an antidote to the soulless mega clubs,” infusing elements of the classic nightclub scene with the creative power of diversely talented artists. Since 2008, they’ve gained a reputation as “the UK’s biggest and most outrageous queer night” according to a 2016 profile in The Guardian.
In the summer of 2018, Chisolm and Sink the Pink founder and presenter Glyn Fussell collaborated on a show in which four Sink the Pink drag queens masqueraded as Chisolm’s bandmates. The performance came to life at the Mighty Hoopla Festival in London, an alternative event co-founded by Sink the Pink, and received rave reviews. This fall will see the pair reunite to execute a brand-new vision.
Before the Sink the Pink performances, Mel C will perform in Croke Park as part of the Spice Girls on 24 May. Extra tickets for the park's first girl group-led gig were released at the end of March due to overwhleming demand.
Please note that the Mel C feat. Sink the Pink events are over 18’s only. A valid, government issued photographic ID must be presented for entry.
Don’t know what if eel about this .
I guess the tour isn’t going to continue , the dates for this are Sporadic .
The Mighty Hoopla performance looked great. I was gutted to have missed it. So I'll probably go to one of these. Just hope Melanie's doing more than a DJ set.
The performance at Mighty Hoopla looked shit. I saw videos and it was just embarassing. Some friends went and said exactly the same.
Glad she is doing a 'different' project this time, and I look forward to seeing some videos of it, but honestly the whole Pride thing is not my cup of tea (it is nowadays a festival, rather than pride) so I will skip it.
I could go to the Brighton one as it is where I live but I dont know if I can stand this lol
I'm afraid most of the solo projects mel c does outside of releasing music either range from boring to just plain embarrassing. The dj'ing is particularly embarrassing and this looks not my kind of thing at all.
Sammy always hates on Mel C but supports Emma’s lame and cheap sounding covers album.
It’s seems that Melanie has finally agreed to cater for her core fanbase.
She gets to tour the world playing infront of thousands and people mock it !!!
Ridic.
She never performs full choreographed sets, she doesn’t need weeks of rehearsal to sing her solo material that she has been touring for years.
Getting paid thousands to DJ is an easy wage for her. Remember she has to fund her career!!!
The dj and gay gigs pay well . It makes sense to do them .
Who says it makes her happy? It makes her money is more accurate.
Can't wait to see her rockin the pride
I would think Mels solo career does enough to cover expenses therefore allows her to continue her solo path without it eating into her wealth.
She is financially secure from all her earnings from the Spice Girls and the current reunion will have added sufficiently to her wealth.
Mel C and Emma appear the least lavish of the 5 girls with spending and come across as financially secure.
Posh we know is on another level due to her fame following the Spice Girls.
Geri despite having her own wealth married someone even richer so i doubt money is an issue.
Mel B looks the least financial secure of them all.
Yeah, Geri's definitely wealthier than Christian!
I had wrongly understood Geri's husband was wealthier than her.
Mel C needs to look at other avenues if her solo ventures are showing losses of such huge sums of money.
Maybe a Greatest Hits will come as a final album release.
Exactly. People need to stop believing what the press says at face value. Accountants know what they are doing - as someone said she has various companies that support each other - and also she is multi-millionaire. Plus, she works a lot and I am sure she is not cheap either.
She gets to do what she loves and that is the most important thing. No, she isnt raking it in like Ariana Grande or Adele, but so what.
