Theme: Fright Night / Halloween

Sunday, Guest performers: Louisa Johnson and Bruno Mars

Thought I'd make a thread since there isn't one yet.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:02 PM

Gooey Louis? They've really run out of them, haven't they?

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:04 PM

They really are spending ALL the makeup budget on QUEEN Nic this year

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 07:05 PM

Oh ffs they still aren't scrapping the lifeline vote, Ryan will scrape through again then drama.gif

I bet Emily is going to have her "moment" this week being on last then... 4OD near last again!!

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:09 PM

The lack of cheers for Emily might suggest otherwise (or that might be wishful thinking)

Posted by: Sabrina. 29th October 2016, 07:10 PM

Another Fifth Harmony song huh.gif

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:11 PM

Didn't enjoy that as much as her other performances, but that's mostly down to song choice I think. Gifty gave it her all though as always and vocally it was great.

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 07:11 PM

This is just boring.

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:11 PM

Lol at her sassing Louis *.*

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 07:13 PM

I didn't even know that song was from Fifth Harmony, but I found it a safe performance.

Posted by: Sabrina. 29th October 2016, 07:13 PM

I can't take Simon seriously

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 07:15 PM

It was a bit like her Rockin' Robin perf for me, great and she gave it her all but as a song choice it just wasn't made to wow so won't be the moment of the night or anything. Louis can f*** off though, sorry that not everyone draws their songs from the cliché book every week! drama.gif

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:15 PM

Gifty was alright at best

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:17 PM

Looks like the Judges are slowly evaporating laugh.gif

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:19 PM

Matt proving once again that he's a total one trick pony. It's getting very boring as "good" as he is technically

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 07:20 PM

You can't argue with Matt's vocals, but I'm so fed up of him being predictably the same every single week. Other acts wouldn't get away with that laugh.gif

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 07:21 PM

Matt was fine this week, can't beat a bit of Nina though so that helped a lot.

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 07:22 PM

yahoo.gif I just need him through one more week so he can make the tour kink.gif

Gifty and Matt have both been excellent tonight I think! Matt in particular gave his best performance so far, he's hit and miss with me but that really was a hit. Gifty is such a star wub.gif

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:22 PM

I really think the biggest improvement about the show this year is how not seriously it's taking itself. Random throwaway observation.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:23 PM

Well he can sing, I actually quite liked the song choice smile.gif

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 07:24 PM

Getting bored with Matt now, same thing every week, needs an uptempo number to break the mould, they are really pushing him towards the final.

Posted by: Sabrina. 29th October 2016, 07:25 PM

Another good performance from Matt. I wouldn't say it was his best though and I agree I'd like him to mix it up a bit

Also, is it me or does it seem like it's the same acts each week that get the earlier slots? I guess it could also be an advantage now though with voting opening at the beginning of the show

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:27 PM

Little bit of Charli XCX promotion there kink.gif

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:30 PM

Well OF COURSE this hapless lot get Thriller

Posted by: Cameron 29th October 2016, 07:30 PM

Are 5AM miming?

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:31 PM

How to ruin a song:

Step 1: Get 5AM to sing it

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:31 PM

Honestly I shudder to think what an isolated mic feed of this lot sans backing vocals would sound like

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 07:31 PM

This is absolutely atrocious.

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 07:32 PM

The dancing and staging etc was good but those vocals were really off...

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 07:32 PM

Just how did they get a standing ovation style result? That was really poor, the vocals were diabolical.

Posted by: Sabrina. 29th October 2016, 07:33 PM

They really are hit or miss

Honestly think they could be in trouble this week

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:33 PM

They are excellent performers to be sure, but the rest was a clusterf***

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:34 PM

I think that's going to put them in trouble, assuming 4OD get a bounce

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 07:34 PM

Good god that was absolutely ABYSMAL :/ It was so limp, when you compare it to Fleur's for example from the other year. If you're going to do Thriller you need to perform the hell out of it, you can't just shit that out...

I think that if there's any "shock" in the bottom to replace whoever gets a rebound, it will surely be them but I guess there are still 7 others who could f*** up and not get the bullshit judges comments laugh.gif

Posted by: 🎃cqmerqn🎃 29th October 2016, 07:34 PM

You can vote now before they even sing?

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:34 PM

WHAT is Bryan wearing? blink.gif

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 07:35 PM

Talk about murdering a classic, and that must be the 13th time we have heard Thriller on the X Factor Halloween theme night, at least Gifty's performance was different.

Posted by: Sabrina. 29th October 2016, 07:41 PM

So over Honey G

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:44 PM

Honey G performed how I expected Honey G to perform

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:44 PM

This is inspired to be honest. Was getting bored of her, but this is great.

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 07:46 PM

LOVED IT!

That was brilliant, definitely a step in the right direction after last week. It was really quite a lot of fun.

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:49 PM

If she makes the final she has to duet with Nicole *.*

Posted by: 🎃cqmerqn🎃 29th October 2016, 07:51 PM

Honey G to win pls x

Posted by: Dannoween 29th October 2016, 07:53 PM

HONEY G YES SLAY MY LIFE

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:54 PM

Id shit myself if Rylan popped up near me too

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 07:54 PM

Lmao that was so fun. My favourite so far tbh laugh.gif

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 07:55 PM

Oh noes, Scotland is backwards. Boo f***ing hoo.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 07:55 PM

Nicole just wet herself laugh.gif

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:56 PM

I'd probably punch Rylan if he jumped up behind me

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 07:58 PM

I bet Ryan gets a rebound and like Gifty ends up bottom drama.gif That was predictably flat and boring, his voice is just too bland and dull for an upbeat song like that. Tbh he has the sort of voice where he it's really hard to get the song right, but that was tragic.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 07:59 PM

Sorry, wasn't a fan of that

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 07:59 PM

That was awful

Posted by: Serg Mix 29th October 2016, 07:59 PM

Omg Ryan is so BAD. Like he just can't sing.

Posted by: Cameron 29th October 2016, 07:59 PM

Ryan will win the lifeline every week unless he is in with Matt or 5am

Posted by: Dannoween 29th October 2016, 07:59 PM

That was terrible. But he'll sail through anyway :/

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:00 PM

They might as well have just driven the bus right over him THEN and THERE. What a mess on every level. He looks like a METH ADDICT.

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 08:02 PM

Delighted with those comments from the judges, even if Ryan's bottom 3 that should most definitely secure him the lifeline vote! I enjoyed the performance, it's not what he'd release after the show but he showed off his stage presence properly for the first time I think.

Posted by: Sabrina. 29th October 2016, 08:04 PM

Ryan wasn't bad

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:05 PM

Finally they've managed to match a song to Sams voice

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:06 PM

I really liked that, first time I've enjoyed a Sam performance properly.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 08:06 PM

Sam was actually alright this week, my favourite performance from her so far

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 08:06 PM

Good song choice for Sam, I think that was her best so far, loved the light and shade in the vocals, and her control was on point. First time I've been convinced by her in the competition actually.

Posted by: 🎃cqmerqn🎃 29th October 2016, 08:07 PM

Ryan was awful

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 08:08 PM

That was very very good! My favourite performance of the night so far and her best of the competition so far. That is definitely the perfect song, she didn't have to try too hard and she definitely controlled her usual flaws and kept them to a minimum.

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 08:09 PM

Intrigued by Saara, her voice isn't one I'd associate with a song like Bad Romance.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 08:11 PM

I don't know why Simon had a bee in his bonnet over her performance, that was probably her best performance to date, and not over shouting the track with high notes.

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 08:19 PM

Oh dear, that was a bit of a mess then. It felt like the joke act?

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:19 PM

Holy shit, that was incredible her vocals were absolutely sublime throughout and the whole thing was just the right side of batshit once again. Definitely going to be bottom three though.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 08:19 PM

She actually had a good voice on that biggrin.gif

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 08:19 PM

The arrangement was a bit Cascada 2007 album track 10 cover, and it was a bit week 1 joke act bussing, but her performance was sensational again, Saara always gives it 110% and then some, vocally and performance wise. I don't think that will endear her to the public though, with 4OD potentially getting the rebound I think Saara is naturally going to be the next candidate for bottom 3.

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 08:21 PM

I have no idea what to make of that - felt a bit karaoke really and like Dandy said, much like a novelty act. Vocals were on point however, so I'm kinda undecided.

Posted by: Martyn 29th October 2016, 08:21 PM

Really enjoyed Sarra. I think it would have been better had she stayed behind the piano at the start.

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:22 PM

If by some miracle she makes next week, she should go with something stripped back to highlight her phenomenonal voice.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 08:23 PM

50/50 on that, I just didn't know which way to go, it did sound a bit karoake in places as Joseph said, on the whole a safe performance.

This is what I'd love - her best performance for me was her sing-off of Alive, her voice sounded incredible wub.gif

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 08:27 PM

Is that the Louis doll from Newzoids?

Posted by: Cameron 29th October 2016, 08:31 PM

I feel this song really isn't suited for a group.

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 08:32 PM

Their harmonies really aren't that good imo, it's what really lets them down. Individually they are decent but not sure that's enough to save them from the bottom 3.

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 08:32 PM

That got better as it went along, started off pretty dodgy tbh but the breakdown bit towards the end worked well.

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:33 PM

That was alright, they sounded slightly better this week but they have ao much work to do to actually be GOOD. They'll probably be safe, but they shouldn't be.

Posted by: Martyn 29th October 2016, 08:33 PM

4 of Keys. When singing solo they were awful. Luckily the backing vocals were there for the majority of it.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 08:35 PM

4 of Soothers: Still something missing, another safe performance.

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 08:35 PM

The harmonies really let them down, and that's what I want from a girl group. That was fairly good but they just aren't all that really. They have so far to go and need a lot more mentoring than they'll get from Louis who doesn't seem to even want them there.

"We got a girl group where everybody sings" Louis babe have you not heard of Little Mix...

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 29th October 2016, 08:44 PM

Well Emily's performance was definitely something different from the other generic stuff

Posted by: Dannoween 29th October 2016, 08:44 PM

Oh wow Emily did that song a lot better than I thought she would. That really could be the performance that makes her a big winning contender.

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:45 PM

Well they certainly couldn't have tried any harder to make thar a moment for her

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 08:45 PM

Excellent performance from Emily! By far her best of the lives so far. Vocals not perfect the whole way through but generally really impressed.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 08:45 PM

Well... that was different, probably the best performance of the night and the staging was really good. Blown away

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 08:46 PM

Whilst the judges are getting carried away as usual, that was a decent performance from Emily and it was her best so far I thought.

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:47 PM

I mean it was good and different but I didn't enjoy it much. That's mostly down to disliking her voice though.

Posted by: Qween 29th October 2016, 08:47 PM

I mean it was good and different but I didn't enjoy it much. That's mostly down to disliking her voice though.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 29th October 2016, 08:49 PM

Guessing the bottom 3 will be between Ryan, 4 of Diamonds and Saara.

Saara flash vote
bottom 2: Ryan & 4oD
Go home: Ryan

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 08:49 PM

Oh ffs that was SO good. I cannot deny that. It was the perfect song in the end despite my worries, because it's already a bit depressing laugh.gif You can tell that she had more of a hand in that performance, it suited her much more and she seemed more comfortable. Best of the night for me, they definitely succeeded in pushing her to have a moment, she's gone from not even tolerable to highlight of the show! Simon really seems to go OTT on her though, it wasn't quite "career defining" laugh.gif

Posted by: dandy* 29th October 2016, 08:51 PM

Not sure who the bottom three will be as it could be any of 4 of Diamonds, Saara, Ryan, Gifty or 5 After Midnight.

I'd guess one of the first two listed to go this week though.

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 08:52 PM

The bottom 3 is definitely between 4OD, Gifty, Saara and Ryan this week I think. Ryan will win flash vote regardless of who he's up against, although I don't think he's as much of a dead cert for the bottom 3 this week as he has been the past 2 weeks so there's a chance he'll get lucky and avoid it (probably not though)

Posted by: Liаm 29th October 2016, 09:03 PM

I'm definitely worried for Gifty, if there is a shock (ie not 4OD, Ryan or Saara) it will be her. Really it should be 4OD, they were absolutely atrocious and worse than even Ryan tonight laugh.gif I don't think any other than who I've mentioned will be in trouble, I fear a Gifty and Saara bottom 2 because Ryan will have flash vote and 4OD might get a rebound...

Posted by: JosephStyles 29th October 2016, 09:08 PM

Sadly I don't even think Gifty would be too much of a shock at this point, she got the death slot and a song that no-one knows (seems it didn't quite click like Uptown Funk for Fleur) sad.gif I feel her performance is slightly forgotten unfortunately!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 29th October 2016, 09:22 PM

I hope Gifty goes, i havnt enjoyed one performance from her yet but if she ends up bottom 2 i cant see the judges letting her go. Ryan i dont like either, ideally they will be the bottom two.

I really hope Saara stays as i always enjoy her performance and she is the one i look forward to coming on.

Posted by: Ryan. 29th October 2016, 09:26 PM

Emily was sensational, she's finally back at the standard she was pre-lives and potentially surpassing it. She reminded me of a Cher Lloyd/Janet Devlin hybrid tonight and that staging was incredible. She's joined the all-time iconic Halloween performances in my opinion which are of course Cher Lloyd's Stay, Only The Young's Monster Mash and Little Mix's E.T. That performance of Creep knocks Little Mix out of my all-time Fright Night top 3.

Saara was the best performer once again, although the song didn't give her the chance to show off her vocals and the backing track sounded cheap to me. You can be crazy without being novelty, but that performance leaned slightly towards novelty for me. However, it was still my second favourite performance of the night and she will be getting all of my votes as always of course as she is my favourite contestant. I would've liked to see Saara do Stay or Phantom of the Opera as I think she could've had a massive moment, or Wuthering Heights if that classes as a Halloween song - she has an incredible rendition of that song on one of her albums.

Four of Diamonds gave their best performance but it was still very average up until the key change, Ryan was very poor in the verses but decent in the chorus and a decent performance. Matt was good but predictable, Gifty was decent too. Sam actually probably sounded the best she has done so far, I like the little squeaks she's putting in some of her longer notes as it makes them sound less out of tune. 5AM were a bit bland and Honey G was dreadful as always.

Bottom 3 seems a fairly obvious Saara/Four of Diamonds/Ryan (in that order with Saara 7th in the vote), if anyone does escape then I agree that Gifty is falling in there with an unknown song and the only act in the Strictly overlap. Sam does just enough again to hover above the drop zone. Ryan will win the lifeline vote again (JUST GET RID OF IT!) and I think they will keep Saara over Four of Diamonds in such a scenario.

Posted by: No Sleeep 29th October 2016, 10:44 PM

Sadly I think Gifty is in trouble sad.gif On first, a song nobody knows (again? Ffs are they lining her up as a new 5H member?)

Did anybody else notice Sam's Aaliyah shirt in the VT? Yass girl haha that made me like her wub.gif

Posted by: Jason 30th October 2016, 07:59 PM

Disappointed Louis didn't choose Black Magic for 4 of Diamonds. Well, he is not a good mentor really. sad.gif

Posted by: Qween 30th October 2016, 08:09 PM

Saara was like an energizer bunny in that group perf! Bouncing round the place

Posted by: Qween 30th October 2016, 08:11 PM

Watching Emily back I like it even less. But no doubt it gave her her "moment"

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 30th October 2016, 08:14 PM

They keep showing a music video for 'So Good' in the introductions - have I missed something?

Posted by: Qween 30th October 2016, 08:17 PM

That didn't feel like a winners performance at all. I do really like the song, but it felt curiously cheap and basic.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 30th October 2016, 08:20 PM

Not bad performance from Louisa, but at the same time it did not blow me away. The song is a grower though.

Posted by: 🎃cqmerqn🎃 30th October 2016, 08:24 PM

Louisa is such a good performer!

Posted by: Dannoween 30th October 2016, 08:24 PM

I liked it. It wasn't a Little Mix type moment of a performance but it was good and should hopefully give her a bit of a chart boost.

Posted by: Qween 30th October 2016, 08:25 PM

Come on Saara

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 30th October 2016, 08:26 PM

Simon really wrecked Gifty's chances with that unknown Fifth Harmony song...

Saara making it through 2 weeks in a row is great for her confidence in the UK.

Posted by: Qween 30th October 2016, 08:30 PM

Ryan safe, 4OD going. A pretty solid outcome hopefully given they were probably bottom 3 overall again this week.

Posted by: Martyn 30th October 2016, 08:31 PM

I am not surprised at Gifty being bottom 2. Unknown song, on first, on during the Strictly cross over. It is almost like they were trying to get rid of her.

Posted by: andibob 30th October 2016, 08:31 PM

Can we just send Four of Diamonds AND Ryan home?

Posted by: dandy* 30th October 2016, 08:31 PM

Saara has done so well to bounce back from being in the sing off in the first two shows, I would never have imagined she would make the tour.

No doubt the lifeline vote will save Ryan for the third week in a row.

4 of River Island to sing a classic girlband song, get told by the judges as a girlband they should have masterclassed it, they failed.
At least one person to sing a solo song by someone who used to be in a band. Probably a Robbie song.

I respectfully disagree, I love his tone, he doesn't have the strongest voice but you don't need that to be a popstar. He also gave a great performance last night in my opinion and he absolutely deserved another week in the contest! I hope Nicole gives him something that can actually show off his potential as an artist next as I think that's been missing from his performances so far.

What a joke. So Nicole and Sharon both stood for Gifty and not 4oD but sent Gifty home!? How the hell does that make sense. And they couldn't even justify it!

It all boils down to competition as Sabrina said... Sharon and Nicole gave her a standing ovation at the end of her performance, she probably was one of the strongest acts and decided to drop her, which gives better chances to Honey G/Saara and Matt in the later stages.

I'd bet they were drama.gif That's what pisses me off, if it comes out that Ryan was 3rd bottom each time then fair enough, it's justice I suppose and a fair vote, but the possibility that, whoever it is, someone could be 3rd from bottom and go over someone who was bottom is stupid. And they know damn well it's always going to be ryan who gets the flash vote :/

Posted by: Ryan. 30th October 2016, 11:01 PM

I think it was a closer sing-off that lots of people make out, just like last week. 4 of Diamonds gave their best performance by far, it was still a little shaky but they finished very strong with one girl taking the lead and the other three harmonising the backing vocals. I would've preferred Gifty to stay but I'm not outraged, and selfishly I know that 4 of Diamonds are likely to stay in the bottom 3 which means one less act to climb above Saara! kink.gif

I imagine Ryan was last in the vote for the second week running and he should have gone by now, they need to ditch the lifeline vote immediately. Overjoyed for Saara, I had a feeling this afternoon that she may just survive it again. I thought that rather than be a Rachel Adedeji with two bottom twos, a week off and then elimination she might do an Only The Young who rebounded their sing-off with a sensational Monster Mash performance that gave them momentum for another 3 weeks or so. I think Saara will follow this trajectory and I can see her reaching the top 6 now which is incredible!

Posted by: Joe. 31st October 2016, 12:08 AM

Utter joke. I thought of all people, if Gifty got more and more confident, she could have made her final and was one of the few acts that could give Matt a run for his money. I get that Simon gave her a shit song and why she ended bottom 2, but seriously, the sing off was amazing, and she has so much more potential than 4OD. Nicole and Sharon...shame on you.

Thrilled to see Saara staying another week. Glad it was more than just a one week rebound thing. She seems to be building quite a bit of support online from what I can see.

Posted by: Hadji 31st October 2016, 12:27 AM

I still can't believe what Simon did at first when he was asked to vote. I remember in 2005 when he chose to send home his own act The Conway Sisters in favor of another act Chico

Posted by: Liаm 31st October 2016, 12:50 AM

I'm actually more annoyed at 4OD than Ryan laugh.gif Fair enough if the app lifeline vote is part of the voting I suppose even though I believe it shouldn't be, with 4OD it just screams as close to fix as you get without actual vote tampering (manipulation I suppose). As I've said, I think Little Mix is spurring them to want another girl group but they need to realise there is no replicating Little Mix! There's no point in the sing off if they're gonna send home someone who pulls off a performance like Gifty's :/ I'm sorry but even looking objectively I cannot see who could believe 4OD gave the better performance, it was ropey af. I'm so fed up of them going on about their "potential" when they've been consistently average, and Gifty was right there with a huge amount of talent ready and waiting, a reliable performer. It's getting to the point where some of this so called potential is going to have to actually be shown drama.gif

I bet we lose Saara or Sam next week :/ I legit just want Honey G to win now tbh.

Posted by: Houdini 31st October 2016, 12:57 AM

Has there been a week where Ryan and 4 of Diamonds missed the bottom 3? you just know even before the programme starts on Saturday that they will end up in the bottom 3. Those two must know deep down that they are just making up the numbers now.

Posted by: Liаm 31st October 2016, 01:03 AM

Week 1 Ryan wasn't bottom 3, and week 2 when they arrived 4OD weren't bottom 3 laugh.gif

Posted by: Parallel Reality 31st October 2016, 09:51 AM

I really don't get why Gifty was sent home. She got given the death slot, with another Fifth Harmony song(?) and also a song nobody knew. It's concerning that someone with the talent and the edge of Gifty got sent home before the likes of Ryan, 4 of D and even Honey G. It's almost like Simon and the producers wanted her out? This flash vote is also the stupidest idea they've had and makes a mockery of people who have been spending money to ring up and vote. Even the bloody theme wheel thing is awful 😂

Maybe the producers already have an eye on who they want to win and Gifty was the one who was going to rival that.

Posted by: Jack 31st October 2016, 12:09 PM

This series is becoming an absolute shambles. I only really like Saara of who's left. 4 of Diamonds and ESPECIALLY Ryan need to leave asap. I like Honey G but they've done her all wrong in the live shows.

I really don't "get" Emily or Sam either, 5am and Matt are good but not by cup of tea.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 31st October 2016, 12:20 PM

I just hope Ryan or 4oD gets the pole position of performing first, with the Strictly clash, I'm sure performing first also adds to it. It just annoys me when 4oD and Ryan were in the bottom a few times, when Gifty was never in the bottom previous weeks and Nicole and Sharon just dump a potential act. If Honey G is in the bottom 3 I bet the public would keep her in (flash vote), along with Ryan and 4oD.

And I'm so over Honey G now, its just a one trick pony, looks like she has lost a lot of weight as well laugh.gif with all the prancing about.

Posted by: Martyn 31st October 2016, 01:21 PM

When One Direction were there biggest act they kept trying to push clones of them. Now it's Little Mix I guess they are doing the same. The thing is like Union J, 4 of Bad Lashes will always be a watered down version of the bigger act.

I also don't know how the show will get rid of Ryan. They aimed enough buses at him this week. I can see one week they will drop the lifeline vote and then he will end up being safe that week and it back fires on them.

Posted by: Dannoween 31st October 2016, 02:02 PM

Well Union J seemed to work for Simon from the point of view of making a quick extra buck off the 1D/boyband trend, so maybe he's hoping 4 of Diamonds can do the same? Even if people aren't actually voting for them?

Posted by: pippa 31st October 2016, 02:50 PM

I am so surprised Gifty was voted off, i am not disappointed as i didn't enjoy her but i felt she was the one they had singled out to be the winner. Giving her a boring Fifth Harmony song did her no favours but i was very shocked the judges did not save her as i would have bet a thousand quid the judges would have all eliminated 4 of Diamonds. 4OD based on the Saturday performance did not deserve bottom 3, Ryan and Gifty did and Honey G should have been the other act bottom 3.

Ryan really has to go next. Saara is certainly the most interesting act left as you really don't know what she will come up with next and i am delighted she avoided the bottom 3 again this week.

I do think the Honey G bubble will burst soon as she is showing more and more each week that she is a one trick pony.

Posted by: JosephStyles 31st October 2016, 03:04 PM

Ryan will go as soon as the lifeline vote's taken away, I'm pretty certain of that at this stage and unless whoever he's against in the sing-off really cocks up, he'll be out because he'd be out-sung. Ultimately I don't really think X Factor is the kind of show for artists like him sad.gif

Surely Saara and 4OD are due early slots this coming week? 4OD have been last - second last - second last in the three weeks they've taken part in. Saara's also been near the end the last couple of weeks, it's only fair. Honey G's also never been earlier than 4th in the running order I believe...

Posted by: Houdini 31st October 2016, 03:17 PM

I saw Gifty being interviewed on TV this morning and "bitter" is an understatement.........

There were some passive indirect shots fired at Honey G as well by her.

Posted by: Jack 31st October 2016, 05:05 PM

I don't blame her, I'd be pissed if some deranged woman shouting "it's the M I B's" beat someone who is genuinely talented. I liked Honey G at first but they've done her all wrong so that she's not even funny, just repetitive and boring.

Posted by: Houdini 31st October 2016, 05:16 PM

I can potentially see her going on Celebrity Big Brother next year, this is the first time I can remember someone not sugar coating their emotions after being eliminated from The X Factor.

Posted by: pippa 31st October 2016, 05:50 PM

What did she say? Gifty does comes across as someone who is not afraid to speak her mind and i do like that. That said as a singer she is no big loss to the show. It will be interesting to see if she will chase 15 minutes of fame route.

Posted by: Ryan. 31st October 2016, 05:56 PM

It makes you wonder if Gifty was being a bit too much of a handful for the producers' liking behind the scenes, hence being thrown under the bus this week.

Posted by: Houdini 31st October 2016, 05:57 PM

These are both edited but here you go:

Posted by: Liаm 31st October 2016, 06:02 PM

I do not blame Gifty at all. It might not be the most gracious way to be in the face of defeat but I doubt I would be best pleased either if I sang like she did in the sing-off and got ousted for a ropey girlband who just about pulled about a vaguely competent sing-off. It just defeats the purpose of a sing-off if they're gonna save the girlband because they've decided they need another Little Mix.

I've been saying this a lot, definitely agree. The way they're plugging Shout Out To My Ex and mentioning LM/having them in VTs does remind me of what they did for 1D for the few years they were massive, and I think because of the £££ potential (which isn't even there), they are giving 4OD a hell of a lot of leeway. What they need to realise is that Little Mix have the market, they are so brilliant and unique and you can't replicate them with 4 average singers who can't dance or harmonise... All the potential they speak of means nothing when they have a mentor who doesn't want them so they probably just do everything themselves, so they aren't going to be able to release it.

Posted by: RobBob 31st October 2016, 06:09 PM

I do find that attitude quite unprofessional of Gifty. On the night it's understandable, but in those interviews, she is effectively at work to continue to market themselves as an artist and she's just marketing herself as being sullen and entitled.

Posted by: RobBob 31st October 2016, 06:14 PM

This interview is even more telling, particularly 1:10 onwards when she rolls her eyes at Ryan Lawrie surviving:

I totally understand how she feels and I would feel the same deep down, especially when you take into consideration that she's tried to make it on The X Factor in a previous year but got knocked back and had to keep her determination for all that time up until this year's auditions.

Did anyone notice the facial expression Ryan made when he got saved by the lifeline vote again last night?

Posted by: Liаm 31st October 2016, 06:39 PM

Having now had a look at the interviews, the thing that sticks out to me is that she tweeted about being a huge 5H fan and wanting to perform the songs that she did! If she really didn't want to sing the song, I don't know why she couldn't

As for Ryan I did notice it and I feel a bit sorry for him in a way, thinking about it, he must feel kinda bad that he keeps scraping through and it's not his fault that there is this twist that caters to the sort of voters who vote for him. It must be pretty shitty to always be in that bottom few, I think if it was me I'd feel like I didn't deserve to be there and it'd niggle at me that I could have been last in each vote and people with more votes who more people want to stay may have gone in my place. Plus he likely gets a lot of shit for it and whilst I am annoyed that he's still there when he is a terrible singer imo, I am just thinking it's not his fault, the producers are the one who do the stupid twists that inevitably set scenarios like this up.

It's really not that easy, people underestimate the producers' influence. Kitty Brucknell said over the weekend that she was supposed to perform "Bad Romance" (in reference to Saara doing another of her back catalogue) on GaGa vs Queen week but refused to do that (presumably because she wanted to get away from the GaGa impersonator identity). The producers then lumbered her with "Don't Stop Me Now" (historically one of the worst song choices possible for surviving elimination), slot #1, ended up bottom 2 and was immediately out. If Gifty refused and got another song, she would still have been in slot #1, she'd have got some sort of horrendous production and still be made sure to fall into the bottom 3 for going against the producer's wishes. This is also why Ryan is completely out of favour after his comments a couple of weeks ago about being adamant about having his guitar back and that he is a musician, suggesting that he's being forced to do things he doesn't want to.

On the flip side I think this is why Saara is getting such producer support at the moment. Various people behind the scenes have said she's a delight to work with, they can throw anything at her and she'll give 110% and this is the sort of person the producers want to keep around. If Saara ever decides that she's not happy by being the oxymoron that is the "very talented novelty act" then I imagine she'll be disposed of, but for the time being she's perfect casting for the show. She isn't a threat to the favourites (Matt and Emily, potentially 5AM) but she is completely happy to do crazy wacky performances at a very high level of performance. It's no coincidence that they've toned down the Finland remarks since weeks 1 and 2, if they want to get rid of Saara all they will have to do is bring those remarks back.

Posted by: Jonjo 31st October 2016, 07:31 PM

Finally managed to catch up. What a boring show, which seems weird to write considering the theatricality of "Fright Night"... That could be why I've ranked Emily as my fave of the night, BUT it was a brilliant performance. She took the theme and ran with it! Suited her so well. Saara's performance was as expected great, but wtf at that production though!!

Honey G really needs to f*** off now. That performance was so boring! 5AM were terrible too as were Sam and Ryan.

Disappointed with this week! sad.gif

Wow Gifty.. talk about being gracious in defeat. She was OK, nothing special. She was never going to win, so I don't get why she's been so bitter. Fair enough she reckons she's been stitched up.. she might have been. But plenty more before her have and plenty more after her will. End of the day someone has to go first and you can vote from the beginning of the show!? Ryan is obviously quite poor, but he has a big fanbase behind him so it seems. And the producers will definitely want him on the tour.
