It’s already doing so well.

1025. Lil' Kim - Took Us a Break

Posted by: Lomadz Nov 3 2017, 07:30 AM

Taylor Swift's new song is easily my favourite if the new ones so far, sublime.

Don't think there is much need to make 'Anywhere' 59p yet, wait until it climbs a bit more on Spotify, it's a bit either way! Look at 'Havana'.

Posted by: Jamie Barkley Nov 3 2017, 07:59 AM

I hope Taylor smashes with Call It What You Want, the first song from this project I've had any time for.

Taylor Swift - Call It What You Want

Posted by: omrimayo Nov 3 2017, 08:04 AM

Yes the new Taylor is really the best of her this year and the reaction to it is amazing, any Idea why they haven't added it to NMF in the past 4 hours when it's out? They always updating but not this time.

Posted by: Bjork Nov 3 2017, 09:05 AM

big climb
9 Taylor Swift Call It What You Want

arrow up.gif 83. ALMA & French Montana - Phases

arrow up.gif 214. RAYE & Mr Eazi - Decline

ALMA seems to be making headway with Phases

Posted by: 777666jason Nov 3 2017, 09:35 AM

Taylor bring quite clever then trying to get the whole album to chart releasing 1 a fortnight since she knows she can't on album week laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork Nov 3 2017, 09:50 AM

sure she's doing that to get more preorders rather than to clog the charts lol

Posted by: jazzy_765 Nov 3 2017, 09:58 AM

How ironic..... I actually find Call It What You Want the weakest song from the new Taylor era 😂. I don't dislike it but it doesn't have the catchiness of LWYMMD or Ready For It. I prefer Gorgeous too 😂

Posted by: ElectroBoy Nov 3 2017, 10:13 AM

arrow up.gif 05. Taylor Swift Call It What You Want
arrow up.gif 65. David Guetta & Afrojack - Dirty Sexy Money (feat. Charli XCX & French Montana)

Posted by: Lenny Nov 3 2017, 10:53 AM

Based on a couple of listens I'd say "Call It What You Want" is my least favourite of the 4 tracks with "Gorgeous" at the top. But I really like them all. Not at "1989" level but it does make me hopeful for "reputation".

Posted by: ElectroBoy Nov 3 2017, 11:20 AM

03. Taylor Swift - Call It What You Want
53. Katie Melua - Fields of Gold (Official BBC Children In Need Single 2017)
54. David Guetta & Afrojack - Dirty Sexy Money (feat. Charli XCX & French Montana)

196. RAYE & Mr Eazi - Decline

Posted by: FleetSeb Nov 3 2017, 11:33 AM

Call It What You Want is my fave so far along with Ready For It. Agreed that this isn't as strong as 1989 (or Red IMO)

Posted by: Bjork Nov 3 2017, 11:39 AM

it's a nice song but album filler, no single material

Posted by: Jack Nov 3 2017, 11:42 AM

53. Katie Melua - Fields of Gold (Official BBC Children In Need Single 2017)

I wonder was this inspired by a certain Ms Cassidy? I think Eva's version (it just seems less flat than Melua's as Eva had a bigger fluctuation in volume of her voice in the song) is better even though it is very sad as it was on that cancer research advert when I was younger and Eva Cassidy sadly died of cancer sad.gif

The BBC have stated that it’s in tribute to Sir Terry Wogan. ‘Fields Of Gold’ was one of his favourite songs and Katie Melua was one of his favourite artists.

Oh OK then, the choice of song and artist is quite fitting then.

I don't think they're pissed off with you! I think their annoyance is with how many Christmas songs are charting so soon (but it's always been the case that November 1st sees the first few xmas classics enter, so I don't get why people are annoyed laugh.gif)

They probably won't, it won't be difficult for them to get a 50% increase at this time of year for example and ACR won't be an issue.

She needs to come back next year imo with a proper 2002 eurotrance throwback sounding dance song with FunkDevice. I feel like they were hinting at that sound with the Legend FunkDevice remix but need to do it better and fully next time.

Posted by: soundseekerz Nov 4 2017, 01:48 AM

I do wonder what Taylor Swift is going to do if her record label doesn’t exclude one of her current hits from the chart, otherwise the latest track can’t enter (3 track per artist minimum). I think they should exclude Gorgeous so she can rack up another top 20 hit pre album release

Misread it for 'Blonde' for a second there ohmy.gif The prospect of Blondie maybe getting one back (at least on the itunes chart maybe) on similarly named Blonde whose latest single has flopped though ohmy.gif !

Mess at the public buying the wrong Rak-Su song laugh.gif

I doubt that the public are buying the wrong song. People obviously must have listened to Mamacita also and decided to buy that as well. In my opinion it is the better song out of those two.

It's the third track on my Release Radar this week. Possibly it's only on UK Spotify though?

If Thriller this week is anything to go by, ACR might even help Christmas songs by weakening the competition.

would X factor let that happen though? it'd be awkward for them if Grace wins but Rak-Su beat her to #1 in the chart.

Taylor Swifts 'single' is hardly setting the charts alight in the UK or worldwide nor the last song/single. Is this new one the proper single? I thought theye would want a big smash single before the album like Blank Space last year. This song by the way it's going isn't going to do too much chartwise like Ready for It didn't do too much. It doesn't seem like it's going to be a big hit single?

Posted by: Doctor Blind Nov 5 2017, 12:01 PM

Yes, it's the new 'stocking issues'. Buzz singles were like that, essentially just singles that flopped and it was always a label applied retrospectively.
