FLOORED at Summericia sending Caramelldansen!! Love the Rednex and Paradisio songs too. Plus Crystal Castles and josh pan showing up also *.* the latter had a song that was a very early potential for me!

I've been really into Steven Wilson since he was entered so it was a good time for him to bring out new material! This one's quite different to Routine (and half the length those that were worrying x), I feel like those that loved that may not like this as much but those that didn't would like this more, but let's see ;o I think it's gorgeous anyway <3

Great to see Crystal Castles and Autoheart here, the latter in particular I'm looking forward to after how good Agoraphobia was Rednex...lol

This... actually looks about as close as I was ever gonna get to a 'good semi' with this song I see 4 or 5 of the small handful of countries that I thought might be fans. Bodes well for me to at least not come last. I apologise in advance to the people on plug who get annoyed at long songs but I've had this song as a potential for a few months waiting for a moment I felt like taking the risk and this month was the time *.* I promise I won't send a song this long ever again. Unless I find another one this brilliant. x

I think the only two songs I know in semi 1 are the last two and they're both good so can look forward to a strong ending to the semi - oh my at 'Caramelldansen' showing up (did Lex have this as a potential in the past or am I imagining that?) *_*

Looking forward to hearing another Steven Wilson track! Ninet Tayeb was the uncredited feature on 'Routine' as well so a familiar voice ;o A bit surprised Crystal Castles made it through the veto but excited to hear that song as well anyway, I don't think that's one I know already!

Don't think I recognise anything in my semi so bring on some fresh discoveries! Out of the opposite semi montaigne and that's because I had come across it as a potential last year at one point but never felt like going with it as I didn't love it but it's sounding great right now so that to do well.

Having looked through the list of all BJSC songs,I think I'm right in saying Rolloland has broken the all-time record for longest song title. Hendinia entered a song with 13 words but their song title doesn't have as many letters in it.

She actually went by Nikola Rachelle only, not using Bedingfield, to separate herself from her famous siblings. Well, that didn't work ot and so she FINALLY (which she shoulda done from the start back when they were relevant) brought in the Bedingfield.

Also I've just looked at all the votes from the last contest. Can't believe I had a DECENT LEAD after the first few votes. Shame I couldn't get the first top ten for Bhangra since about 2008!

I don't know how on Earth I managed to get the most woots but I'm certainly not complaining. It was worth sending this just for that reaction even if I do still DNQ

I don't know what people are on about saying this was a weak semi as this has to have been my favourite semi for quite a while! 16 songs I really want to vote for already even before giving anything a chance to grow, and lots more good stuff beyond that too.

Have to throw some hype in particular to Cumulonimbia, such a perfect comeback from them but not necessarily one I'm certain will qualify (although this should be a good semi for its chances).

Semi 1 was wayyyy better but this semi picked up just enough right at the end to end up having a solid enough top 10.

Cadelicia have sent their best entry for quite a while hope this one will do well for them. Quintessa and Buzzjack Mountain were great discoveries here too, I think Buzzjack Mountain actually will qualify in this semi! And Quintessa could be a real win contender, strong Caravan Palace teas (it's not AS good as that for me atm but could grow with further listens). Also stanning Jadakissnia and Zanmatony of course, already knew them for a while tho ~

With all due respect to Suedehead, he is an admin who doesn't post much, the song was good and appealed to voters, that's it. If winning was really based on popularity, we'd have say Jade, Lew, Bre and Sam winning every time. All of those have had flops that have DNQd as well as smashes, Jade has neevr even won but won the rate. This sort of attitude is so tiring to see, anyone can make whatever excuse about flopping but at the end of the day the song just doesn't appeal to enough voters if it DNQs. Anyone who does well all the time or a lot of the time is because they know what will and won't do well in BJSC and have the ear for it, but everyone trips up at some point.

It's not negative voting, besides when a 0pt is obvious I feel someone will always sort of pity vote it or think "well it's not THAT bad" so push it up their ranking a bit. I think to be 0 something would have to be like a bland MOR album track from 2004 but someone would probably like that because people's tastes in this are so diverse. If it was about popularity or the more popular people getting an easy ride, the likes of say Jade, Bre or Lotti were top 10 in the rate would never DNQ, and always do well, but they do DNQ. I think about the only vague thing you could say about popularity is that maybe people are more hyped for entries from the "bigger" countries (for want of a better phrase), and that's not in the "hype train" way you're saying but I for example have my few fave countries who I usually listen to first becaue I tend to like their entries. I expect a lot of people are excited to hear say Aeorche because they usually pull off a good song.

But exactly, as Dan people I am really close to and adore on this site such as Lotti or Lew have sent awful entries and I've said it, whether it's to them, on here, on plug, whatever. You can make as many excuses as you want but at the end of the day your song is shit in my opinion so I didn't like it. It's a click of a button on an intenret music sharing service how the hell is it made into such a shitstorm on here? :/ People meh it because they don't like it, whether you send it, Jade sends it or bloody hotlady returns and sends it I mehd for example Bre's song on plug and I have no personal probelms with him and get on with him, I just didn't like the song. You don't get a god given right to a nicer reception because you send something different

I can't believe we people are still having this conversation...it is all matter of taste...michael i never had any issue with you iirc(matter fact not with anyone in here) and my music taste is really wide, i like from trance to ballads etc etc. I must say that your entry was really just there, and I appreciate your effort and intentions that you made us hear something new and unusual for this contest, but smooth pop/jazz will never have many fans...and this contest is indeed about popularity but that applies only to popular sound/songs and not person behind it...some peoples music taste is just right on point with majority and it's not their fault that they do so well. There were so many times where i confirmed a song and then changed it to something else I love more and flopped, while next month someone else confirmed the other song and finished top 5...is it their fault, no, it is my fault for not believing enough the song and myself to stick to it.

I know what you mean but sending a song thinking its going to do better is not a good idea, you should really just send the song you love the most.

I.e. I confirmed 3 contests ago DJ Licious and then changed it to I Am Aisha which DNQed, and now Dan has hands on it and it looks like it will be a hit, but you know what, i am glad i sent Aisha because I was loving it more than Dj Licious...and i could have sent it in next 2 contests but I never did love it enough to send it.
