HRVY’s just announced on Instagram he’s releasing an album, no date yet but we have a cover *.* it is very JLS 2011 but I like it, the colours are nice!

I wouldn’t call myself a stan but I’m really excited for an album by him, he’s put out some pure pop goodness over the years wub.gif

IT'S ABOUT TIME cheeseblock.png

ME BECAUSE OF YOU is my favourite from what he's released so far this year, so hopefully that's a good indication of what's to come on the album wub.gif

Every time I see the album cover I keep thinking it's a hot new Netflix sci-fi show poster

Be interesting to see how this does - i'll imagine he should score a top 10 (maybe top 5). New Hope Club did, so I'm guessing he should be able to as well.

Wonder if the Matoma collab will be pushed as a single in the lead up

Bolded tracks are the deluxe songs!

I'm quite glad it's pretty much serving as a greatest hits, we like a tidy iTunes library! laugh.gif And it would've been a shame to exclude so many good songs.

Posted by: Andrew. Jul 19 2020, 05:28 PM

Coming for that Mabel chart run cheeseblock.png 6/19 songs being new is...a choice, on the other hand it is bop after bop so listening to it is gonna be an experience *.*

Posted by: Andrew. Jul 19 2020, 11:25 PM

Album out August 28 and he's just said on insta live that NEVERMIND is coming Friday *.*

Posted by: JosephStyles Jul 24 2020, 12:05 AM

Um this is AMAZING????

Posted by: Calum Jul 24 2020, 12:06 AM

It really is amazing! wub.gif Great start to the new tracks, hopefully the rest are just as good / even better!!

On another note, pre-ordered the signed CD/vinyl/cassette bundle *.*

Posted by: Andrew. Jul 24 2020, 12:11 AM

This is fantastic, he's genuinely never put a foot wrong lmao. Signed vinyl on its way to my collection as well *.*

Album delayed to November 20 mellow.gif He literally would’ve got a top 5 album at least ffs

tearsmile.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Aug 20 2020, 12:49 PM

Yeah he might be lucky to go top 10 in November!

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Aug 20 2020, 01:02 PM

He's basically this generation's Elyar Fox isn't he?

Posted by: Calum Aug 20 2020, 01:21 PM

If this isn’t shooting yourself in the foot for no reason...

Posted by: Lee_J11 Aug 20 2020, 02:54 PM

The album title seemingly being an ironic omen huh

Posted by: Andrew. Aug 20 2020, 03:33 PM

He’s said there’ll be more new songs on it, there couldn’t exactly be less tbf tearsmile.gif

Posted by: ManicKangaroo Aug 20 2020, 10:47 PM

He said there's a good reason he can't talk about yet. Strictly?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Aug 20 2020, 11:10 PM

He'd be more likely for I'm a Celeb than Strictly - but even than that's pushing it I think!

Posted by: JosephStyles Aug 20 2020, 11:16 PM

I think they've had far more obscure people than HRVY on both shows! He's got a substantial following in a similar way to Joe Sugg did (albiet via music and not YouTube), and he also presented Friday Download too. He's far from obscure!

Posted by: Andrew. Aug 20 2020, 11:19 PM

Yeah if they can have Karim Zeroual, Emma Weymouth and Vick Hope HRVY shouldn’t be too much of a stretch laugh.gif I hope it is something like that, him to part of the first same-sex partnership with AJ please (ik AJ left but who gives)

Posted by: Calum Aug 20 2020, 11:25 PM

Strictly would make a lot of sense (as would I'm a Celeb, I guess), because other than that boosting sales... I can't see any other reason delaying is worth it.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Aug 20 2020, 11:33 PM

I take back my comment laugh.gif I think Strictly is more likely given I'm a Celeb will be on in November - if it is any of them of course!

Posted by: JosephStyles Sep 1 2020, 07:55 PM

Good Vibes, the Matoma collab, is out Friday!

Posted by: Lee_J11 Sep 3 2020, 09:34 PM

He is competing on strictly afterall laugh.gif

Posted by: Calum Sep 3 2020, 11:08 PM

Predictable - it was the only thing (that or I'm a Celeb) that would mean pushing the album back. laugh.gif

On another note, Good Vibes is out and it is SO GOOD wub.gif So uplifting!

Posted by: ElectroBoy Sep 4 2020, 10:04 AM

Good Vibes is a bop... although probably would've been better to be released over the summer biggrin.gif

Posted by: ___∆___ Sep 6 2020, 03:12 PM

I don’t get why HRVY hasn’t managed a hit yet - he seems to have an hysterical fan base and has delivered a few bops, it also seems that people know of him too. I can’t see Strictly doing much to light up his music career (It doesn’t seem to have done much for past performers?)

Posted by: M4NGO Sep 7 2020, 09:50 AM

Yeah I've been saying for the last year or so I don't understand why he hasn't had a big hit yet.

'Good Times' is another definite bop!

Good Vibes Is too 200 on Apple Music... which must be a first for one of his songs (barring Personal)

Okay I really wasn't expecting Good Vibes to hit me at all but it really has today ph34r.gif It's cheesy pop but it's incredibly catchy cheesy pop.

The album has been cancelled manson.gif Only gonna give two of my three strictly votes to him now x

Posted by: Calum Nov 10 2020, 04:33 PM

drama.gif reading that e-mail smells of complete bullshit, but oh well. I doubt we're gonna see any album at this point.

Thank god I didn't place another order then after cancelling with some credit card drama x

Posted by: AaronTM Nov 10 2020, 04:37 PM

Why has the album been cancelled? Is he recording some better/more adult songs so he can capitalise on Strictly a bit more?

The e-mail he's sent out says most of the songs are between 2-4 years old and aren't representative of who he is any more, and that this album isn't one that he'd be proud of being his debut. laugh.gif Like, his sound/style isn't going to change drastically, so why?

It all just seems so fake - I can guarantee this is just a decision by the label to avoid embarrassment of a flop (which could have been avoided entirely if they'd just stuck to the original release date).

Posted by: Andrew. Nov 10 2020, 04:42 PM

Does Strictly actually boost pop careers anyway?? They should’ve just released in August originally and got a top 5 sad.gif At least he’s pretty.

Posted by: JosephStyles Nov 10 2020, 04:42 PM

Absolute mess. Good thing he's basically got a cute album out already

I doubt it would've done much for an artist like HRVY, but even if the album had already been released, seeing him on TV every week would surely have given them at least a few casual sales, as opposed to now just... nothing?

What a disaster drama.gif

Ah fair enough, maybe on relfection the album was a bit of a Liam Payne vibe where it had been so long in the making that the finished product didn't work anymore.

The record label might be wanting to avoid a flop, but I do wonder if they're wanting to scrap it all and start again with something they can capitalise on with the Strictly audience. I don't think Strictly will have a huge effect, but I'm pretty sure his appearance will open him up to a whole new audience. I don't think the average Strictly viewer would have heard his music, so while his profile is building they can work on something a bit better and hopefully sell more albums further down the line.

I’m sure Pixie launched Platinum Pixie on Strictly and it didn’t do well?

I'm not saying it's the sort of platform that will give him a multi-platinum selling album, but I think an unnecessary greatest hits album is a little bit different to a debut album. If he takes the time to record some newer, slightly more mature, material I think there's a chance it will appeal to more people than he currently does. If he released his album on the original date I think it's too soon for that impact, whereas if they give it a bit longer - record some new songs - and he gets to the final then he has a chance at appealing to a more casual listener.

I was just think where the hell is HRVY’s album and now I know kink.gif

What a terrible decision to cancel it completely, all the formats would have been pressed etc., to scrap it last minute is madness especially as they have bankrolled his ‘career’ for years with no return on investment and the second he gets some exposure they cancel the album! I mean there is no way Strictly would have translated into huge sales but it surely would have got some boost? I can only assume the pre-orders were beyond horrific?

They should have just pushed it to January and sent him on a promo trail off the back off Strictly and snatched that 4-98 chart run rather than bin the whole project.

I’ve also just seen he released ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’ last week to zero fanfare.

I can see this being the last of his music career and he will just become a TV personality?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Mar 16 2021, 11:50 PM

HRVY has now signed with BMG! According to The Sun, his debut album will be released "in the coming months"

Posted by: Calum Mar 17 2021, 12:19 AM

I mean I'm excited, but if they're already pressing ahead with an album out this year I can't see the material being much different to what he's already released, hence making the whole thing even more silly.
