Making the executive decision that a sensible tiebreak will be the average position that the AC participants ranked these two songs in (excluding the rankings of Elëdan and New Lexico themselves).

Elëdan's average rank was 7.9
New Lexico's average rank was 5.9

Thus declaring the winner of this duel to be New Lexico, who will face the winner from duel 2 (which thankfully won't have to go to a tiebreak). Speaking of which...

I imagine Republique d’Askorza were very unfortunate not to advance to the final in the first place, probably the most certain qualifier of AC? And a very good song at that, so congrats Phil!

Glad I now know it wasn’t a mistake not to send NEIMY to the main contest either, I don’t think it would’ve done much better than Moistbreezy or Essy.

(for what it's worth, Jadakissnia would also have beaten Elëdan so the tiebreak earlier doesn't actually matter... in fact there wasn't a single AC participant who ranked Elëdan above Jadakissnia(!) while Jadakissnia would have won 8-4 among non-AC voters for a 16.67 to 3.33 victory)

My preferred qualifiers out of what random.org allowed were Jadakissnia, République d'Áskorza and Niceland but Skall were literally one place behind Niceland in my ranking so very happy to see them through instead, very little to complain about here!

Hope that was not too impossible to follow, and congrats once again to Jadakissnia, République d'Áskorza and Skall for making it out of this scrap alive. We pass the baton back over to République d'Áskorza for the grand final.

I was really worried we wouldn’t get any non-English qualifiers, to take all three is incredible!!! I’m so happy to see Jade and Harve through and thrilled that Luca made it, even if it was a bit close for comfort. I was sure I would lose in the Dual to Rob and then if by some miracle that didn’t happen I was defo out in round two.


So excited! Thanks to everyone who ranked Luca well! Commiserations to Sovarasma. Was super high in my rank (2nd) and I scored it high in the Heat too! I really really enjoyed that track


Final will be up tomorrow morning! I’ve had a watch party for the football and we drank a reasonable amount so it’ll probably be safer if I do all the necessary tomorrow 🤣

Since duel 6 was so close and that Mulgracia made a comeback with non-participants, what would have happened if the final duel were Skall vs Mulgracia instead? I guess I wouldn't have made it?

That would have been a pretty amazing comeback. But alas.

So I matched the performance of Myrtle Flower all those years back then by losing the first duel - although Skall were my favourite of the lot so glad they made it in after beating my song!
