Big steal by Ronnie from 0-52 to make it 4-4, big last two frames, Robbo will think he should have had a lead going into tonight when he was -4-2 up but this is shaping up to be a great battle

Qualifiers start on Monday. Just a note, the Jimmy v Stephen match is now on Monday 5th, not Tuesday 6th as originally scheduled.

Not many players have made 5 finals in a season, would be typical Ronnie if after all the 5 defeats he goes on to win the world title for the 7th time.

The new Turkish Masters world ranking event has been postponed until March 2022.

The tournament was due to run from 27 September to 3 October in Antalya.

The decision comes as Turkey continues to battle deadly wildfires and remains on the UK government's red list for travel.

World Snooker Tour (WST) chairman Steve Dawson called the news a "huge disappointment" but said "we fully intend to be in Antalya in March".

Getting serious for Allen. No doubt it would be a nightmare defeat for him even if he was to try to hide it post match (should it happen).

It was terrible and not something I want to do again”

“None of that [emotion, tension, backdrop] was there for me, it all seemed to be coming from her side.

Here we go from Reanne:
She was told there were no handshakes beforehand.

A bit about why the tension:

That was the most intense match I've seen.

Mark Allen defeated former partner Reanne Evans 3-2 after surviving a major scare in the British Open.

The Northern Irishman was facing defeat at 60-22 down in the fourth frame before fighting back in a tense clash.

Evans, backed by a raucous following, did not reciprocate when Allen offered a fist bump before the first-round match in Leicester.

The pair were meeting for the first time as professionals and in a ranking tournament.

Judd Trump lost in the British Open third round and surrendered the world number one ranking - on his birthday.

Trump, who turned 32 on Friday, was beaten 3-2 by Elliot Slessor, and failure to reach the quarter-finals means Mark Selby is now number one.

Slessor set up a last-16 meeting with Ali Carter, who beat Selby 3-0 in the second round in Leicester.

Carter hit his second 147 break of the tournament, but still lost to Slessor later on Friday.

Mark Allen claimed his maiden Northern Ireland Open title after staging a remarkable comeback to beat John Higgins 9-8 in the Belfast final.

Allen, 35, twice led by two frames before Higgins battled back to level at 4-4 after the first session.

After sharing the next four frames, the four-time world champion took command by winning two in a row, which included a wonderful 136 break to lead 8-6.

Allen then surged back, winning the last three to seal an emotional win.

Allen, whose best previous performance in his home event was reaching the quarter-finals in 2016, capped a memorable week which included hitting a 147 in the first round before coming back from 3-0 down to stun three-time defending champion Judd Trump in the quarter-finals.

It was the sixth ranking tournament title of a career that also includes triumphs in the two big invitational events, the 2018 Masters and Champion of Champions in 2020.

Mark Allen says problems he is facing away from the sport mean he is "unsure if he will get any of his prize money" for winning the Northern Ireland Open.

The Antrim player recovered from 8-6 down to beat John Higgins 9-8 in a thrilling final at the Waterfront Hall, collecting a first prize of £70,000.

Allen declared himself bankrupt in May and says he is unsure if he will be able to continue playing the sport.

"I'm hoping I can go on playing. It's out of my hands," explained Allen.

"I'm not sure if I'll be able to play in the next tournament the way things are and am unsure how much I'll be able to play long-term. That'll take care of itself in the next few months.

"All that has happened in the last 18 months have put things into perspective for me and made me realise how much I love the sport, how much I love the competition.

"I think the threat of possibly not being able to play going forward has made me appreciate the game a lot more.

"I want to continue playing snooker because it's what I love to do - it's the only thing I'm good at, the only thing I've ever done in my life."
