Paul Simpson has taken a break from his role as assistant head coach at Bristol City as he battles cancer. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57695434 Confirmation of the appointment of Marco Silva at Fulham: - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57677125 Also, news that Derby County have escaoed relegation as the EFL have decided not to appeal the punishment which consisted of a fine. It means the Brian Clough trophy match continues in the league as opposed to pre-season friendlies. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57701348 |

Derby, Reading and newly-promoted Hull are among eight English Football League clubs under transfer embargoes a month before the start of the new season.
The embargoes limit a club's ability to make signings, with sanctions preventing transfer fees being paid. |

Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday have escaped points deductions and will start on a level pegging. Both received suspended deductions (3 for Derby, 6 for Wednesday).

I don't mind which teams get promoted as long as it's not Fulham or West Brom. There's much less chance of both of those teams missing out though, at least one of them are bound to worm their way back into the Premier League at the first attempt.

Yeh West Brom have taken Valerien off Barnsley after he nearly got the Yorkshire team into the Premiership last season so looks a good bet but you never know!

I'd be amazed if those two weren't the top 2, Fulham's squad is unbelievable and should run away with this league. The lack of money outside of the top 4 means it's really uncompetitive, some solid teams (Millwall, QPR, Cardiff, Boro, Stoke) that might get into the 70s but I'd be surprised at anything more.
Would be an incredible achievement for Derby to stay up and Huddersfield look doomed too, the last relegation place between one of a few; Reading, Blackpool, Peterborough, Preston, Bristol City |

Yeah Derby will surely go down to League one this season. They only stayed up last season because Sheffield Wednesday had a 12 point deduction, Derby being only 3 points clear of them shows how fortunate they were to escape relegation and how bad Derby actually were.

Peterborough United and Cardiff City have been fined £5,000 each by the Football Association for a melee during their Championship draw on 17 August.
