Following her climb to #1, Camila Cabello will be hoping to retain her position again with 'Havana'. New releases likely to chart include Taylor Swift's 'Call It What You Want', N.E.R.D's comeback single 'Lemon' (a collaboration with Rihanna) and Katie Melua with the official Children in Need single 'Fields of Gold'. Sam Smith is widely anticipated to reach #1 with his second album The Thrill of It All, with Roy Orbison & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's A Love So Beautiful also expected to do well. Other albums new to the chart should include those from Aled Jones, Bryan Adams, Dave, Maroon 5 and Sheridan Smith. Breakdown of the week - Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted. - Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm. - Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one. - Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. - Thursday: See Tuesday. Other notes (please read) - You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod). - Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue. - Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. - To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads. |

Mint Royale:
QUOTE Sam Smith isn’t selling crazily better this week than Stereophonics were after one day last week. #interesting QUOTE He is selling more, but it’s certainly not that impressive. Miles behind Liam Gallagher, for example.

OUCH, although the streaming #'s are not included of course
As You Were opened with 103k, I suspect something 80-90k for Sam by the end of week. This post has been edited by SKOB: 4th November 2017, 01:38 PM |

plus the weekend sales, and it probably end up as a xmas gift as well, I think he could still shift 80k by Monday.
I always take MR with a pinch of salt |

Not sure why the excitement over Sam’s album sales - it’s still going to open with a solid first week and will be a consistent/huge seller up until Christmas. The special will boost sales next week and beyond (Taylor coming for that #2 ).

Think Sam Smith will do an Emeli Sande? Her 2nd album was nowhere near as successful as her first one

I knew it, And he will do much bigger numbers in the US, another case of a UK artist who became bigger there than home. Not a great numbers for him but he'll be OK I'm sure.

I'm sure Sam will sell consistently well for the rest of the year but it's really surprising that he's looking like possibly not even matching the opening sales of his first album, even after 'Too Good At Goodbyes' was actually a pretty big hit and with it being a November release... I wasn't expecting him to do Ed numbers or anything but I thought 200k first week would be very achievable for him, he'll be lucky to do half of that based on this first midweek update.
